50calibre: Even worse! Why would I want to abide by those rules just to please people I may or may not care about? It's not possible to be that nice, the world is not nice, anybody that nice wont get too far in life.LOL!!! I guess it's not entirely about pleasing people but more like a rule of thumb thing. Imagine if everyone did all these things on the list? It would make the world a better place. But I have to be a realist and agree with you that the world isn't a nice place but at least within your social circle, you can practice the above. If we all had the "screw everyone"/"it's me against the world"/"I can't be bothered" kind of outlook, then we are doomed. I personally think it makes life easier and relationships less stressful although right now it might seem like a big load to carry. |
50calibre: Adhering to all these things just for a relationship, is a Herculean task. Even doing a doctorate in particule physics doesnt require this much. This can be applied to all types of relationships not only romantic relationships with women. More like a "how to interact/relate with with others" typa thing. |
shymexx: Whoa!!! Sorry, I just saw your reply now... I'm good, my intelligent nubian sister...LOL. Me and you both. lol but nah I feel you! We learn and grow from our past experiences. I'm with you on the growing mos def! We got this! ![]() |
shymexx: Hiya sis, are you sure?? 1-20 happened to me and I'm darn sure it wasn't obsession... It was a case of a long-time friend I never planned to go with, however I had to ask her out after smashing and she kept playing emotional blackmail on my psyche(that's my weak point and she knew that as well)...She continued the emotional blackmail thing on me for like 2 years cos I wasn't really interested in the darn relationship... and I also wasn't mentally ready for that type of relationship at the time... Anyway, cos she was nice girl - I ended up doing 1-20(in the opening post) in the last one year of the miserable relationship... till I got myself together and moved on...Hey bro, what's going on?! Uh okay, so I am not a relationship expert or anything like that but from what you said, I doubt that was love and if it was, then it was under the wrong circumstances. You talk about emotional blackmail, you not being mentally ready and not even wanting the relationship. If all these factors were non-existent, would you still have done the same? If you really loved her, would you have felt blackmailed? Did you feel like you were under pressure to be in a relationship with her? and you had to prove a point? I don't think you loved her too much and you prolly weren't obsessed with here. I honestly can't identify/name what sort of emotional/psychological trigger that made you do all that but I would say that it all stems from the conditions/factors you mentioned. (Note: you said you "had" to ask her out,you did all that stuff 'cause she was a nice girl etc. I did not see any mention of I liked/loved her?) I honestly think that if you love someone, you would know that he or she is an individual that needs personal space sometimes, no over protection, none of all the stuff the OP mentioned. And for me, there is nothing like loving too much. When it gets to the stage that the OP is talking about, then it has gone beyond love to something else. . Btw, that one experience should not change your whole perspective on relationships. I guess it might be a personal fear of "losing yourself", which does not have to be the case. Thing is, I think that relationships change people (and it should be a positive change anyway) but you should not be afraid to change. I don't have the guide book to relationships (as far as I am concerned, it doesn't exist) but being aware of the fact that being in a relationship will change you, will make you mentally prepared to handle that change. If you begin to see yourself doing irrational things out of fear/insecurity and what not, then yea... time to reconsider. BUT don't be afraid to love. (I guess it also involves loving the right person - one that won't take advantage of your love and who loves you back). *To be real with you, I am no expert on this. Just using my head and experience.* |
Love or obsession/foolishness? Is it possible to love too much? I don't think so. If you really did love the person, you wouldn't do or feel all of the above. |
Threading and tweeting mos def! I love threading but it's so freaking painful! Looking fine is not beans o. |
I wonder how those guys managed to keep a straight face throughout. I would have totally cracked up from the first minute! lol. |

Here are the three points he raised on "How to cover African in 2012 and beyond":I thought it was quite an interesting and engaging talk. His second point hit me the most and I definitely agree. Who best to ask about Africa than Africans? Who best to tell you where it hurts than the person who is feeling the pain? He ends the talk by saying, "It's not so much about what the international media does but what you write about yourself". I think this is very true. Change comes from within. We need to start with the way we think about ourselves first before we can change the way we talk about ourselves and the way we treat ourselves. |
If you work at the same time and you are earning money, then yes. |

All I see is imaged taken from google and posted on here. Where is the evidence to show that it is the Federal govt/GEJ's administration? Btw, OP, that your pciture was taken off the World Bank's website. I asked all those questions to verify the source of the picture. Rossike, I read your post and went to the link you provided and read the full interview (from 2011) which you did not post on here. I still did not see the "GEJ" hand in it o. I am not disputing what the OP said. I'm only asking for the right evidence/proof to support the OP's claim. |
Is the guy in the pic one of the farmers? And is that one of the tractors? Where is this? |
Beti whai ? Brother OP, you have attached a picture to show support your claim? Is this photo taken from Nigeria? How recent is it? |

Fiwajomi is really good. I liked it a lot. I have to agree with the poster that some of them aren't really good but if you check out the seunjonathan channel on YouTube, there are some good Christian movies there. |
One question though: how do they manage to carry all that hair on their heads? isnt it heavy? and annoying? and HOT??!! Na wa o. |
No. The teacher, which I'm sure is a female, killed her. If the guy was in school, she would'nt have been in harm's way.
I dig what you saying But if the driver had been more careful, he wouldn't have hit the girl. I mean technically the driver killed the girl. Guess they shud both be charged for 2nd degree murder but most likely the teacher for being irresponsible towards the child. I'm not a lawyer so I don't know how this works n |
Glad this topic is on the front page. Here is what I said on the thread I created on this topic: What is even sadder than this little girl's death is the reaction of the school authorities asking the fam to drop the case and accept it as the will of God. To make it worse, the comments made my heart bleed. Why would anyone in their right mind support teachers sending students on errands that are not school related and even outside of the school building at creaking 10am in the morning too! I mean I know the education system is failing but really, has it come to this? The teacher didn't kill the student, the truck driver did. However, the teacher, just like the driver, needs to be held responsible for his/her actions. Btw, why do we continue to claim all the bad things that happen as God's will? If only we will put religious sentiments aside for once and see that it is we humans that are the cause of our own problems! Like one of the comments mentioned, there is no enforcement of any child protection laws. But I ask myself again, is there any enforcement of any law (generalization but mostly true) |

I've been trying to figure that out for the last 2 yrs bu all to no avail... hence why I've also been running away from relationships... Because what happened in that relationship was so unlike me - it was so surreal that I thought she prob. used voodoo on me or something...
