Update on site as we almost conclude the sand filling and soakaway digging

So I am building this 4 bedroom bungalow and had an older family friend do the supervision since I am never around.

The foundation has been raised and now, it's time to do the filling with laterite. I am home cos I can take a few days off -- elections.

I went to the site and snapped the attached pictures. The job has been done poorly in some areas. Is it okay to go ahead with the laterite filling or correct these issues. I am concerned these could pose future issues.

Meanwhile the rods at the corner in one of the pictures should have iron rod reinforcement but it hasn't been done till now. Is this going to be a problem as I always see this done during the blinding of the foundation.

You can put the rod now and cast then get cement and call him to fill the space the second pix you attached concentrate on that area well to bind the blocks well to avoid crack

Good day all

I'm here again to share our days work on site

Sand filling in progress

We've started with the sand filling gradually as we are using the hill on site to fill the room and trucks is bringing trips in pipes positioned for the conduit work and other areas of building is closing up.

We will be starting the sand filling anytime this week afte then will the german floor take place

Oh thank you Vickzie.......for taking out time to help.

I have asked the builder if he can get me a cost estimate for materials at the different stages as in the labour cost shown.

He said I will pay for it. Shouldn't a material cost come withe plan?

Though the price is fair but competitively I can reduce and give you the stages materials breakdown

Congrats Bros. Pls what is the depth of this trench, the thickness of the blinding and what size of granite did you use for the blinding.

The depth is 750mm and the thickness is 300mm
