Don't even know how to start cos hope in life is like 13% now. Finished from UNIBEN, came back from service just to do volunteer work with a family member literally frustrated my decision to look for paid job. Did one year SURE-P GIS and later got a job where I was not paid for three months. Left there and came to Lagos where jobberman introduce me to Uber. Did that for two months and to say the truth I really enjoyed the job and so took a car on HIRE PURCHASE AGREEMENT to be paid out in 18 months. Who knew recession would affect things this way.
From one police to VIO and many things, the company took back their car today even after paying half the price of the car.
Now am alone, with my phone in my room thinking what is life? Why do some people struggle through life just to get the basic necessities? Men, this life is messed up. Some how I feel God laughs at my effort and He doesn't want to help me.

I have been reading some comments here and you guys saying Edo and Ishan people have witches and wizards, I want you guys to prove it. I was brought up in warri and benin city, spent my Holidays in my village in Esan land, wentto UNIBEN to study philosophy and even studied African philosophy where a topic was how to identify a witch. I even did a course on Indian philosophy and their mysticsm on soul shifting. I am yet to see a witch.

Stop claiming what you don't know about.

Back in the university, my lecturer called out to anybody who has the knowledge of witchcraft to come forward to be interviewed or the person should secretly put forward a writing to explain some things, nobody came up. The man was doing his doctorate on witchcraft then. Uptil now nobody has put forward anything.

Am not saying there is no possibility of the existence of spirits, but comon, identify yourself. What are you afraid of. Nobody is going to carry out European styled inquisition.

I don't know what it is, but I feel the Corolla is over rated. It is boring to drive, slower than the Civic in terms of acceleration and take-off, the interior is as bland as they come with poorer quality materials than the Civic, if you want to talk of durability, well, just understand that the body panels fall off at will...

As for the Civic, it looks compact outside, but is far more roomier than its look, the interior is more chic and fascinating and built of higher quality materials than that of the Corolla, it is fast from take-off, swifter, sharper and has far better acceleration than the Corolla, it has a smoother drive quality and handles better than the Corolla. The Civic look fragile, but the body panels are firmer and of higher quality than that of the Corolla. If its about the AC, the Corolla doesn't stand a chance near the Civic.

I didn't talk about fuel economy, abuse and maintenance costs, because it is difficult to draw a different line for any of them

I have driven both cars, I own a 2010 Civic, while my office and landlady both have 2010 Corollas. For me, I'll do the Civic over and over again, instead of the Corolla. If you have driven the Civic before the Corolla, it'll be like a downgrade when you drive the Corolla, even as both cars are 'age mates'. But, well it is a Nigerian thing, they'll rate the Corolla even with all its drawbacks over the Civic, just because it is a Toyota. What do I know anyway? that's Naija for you. Lol...

Thank you for the analysis. If you read my post you will see the word I used is "FAST" and not faster. I explicitly stated that I was not doing a comparison of the two cars.

My brother owned a 2008 civic and I currently drive an 08 corolla, I love the two cars but if asked to choose, I will still go for a corolla. I just love the ruggedness of the car.

Just the same way I will always pick a BMW over a BENZ. its just a choice.

have driven the two and I will go for the corolla. The civic is fun to drive and its got class but the corolla is rugged, agile, quick, reliable and cheap to run.

Been using corolla for Uber for about 10 months now no major issue

the only alternative I will recommend is another corolla

But then again, can you deny what does not exist? If God does not exist, how did the knowledge of God come to be. I believe that the attempt to disprove the existence of God is a fallacy, becuase to deny a non-existing entity is self contradictory becuase something cannot be and not be at the same.

If truely you are a philosophy student as you said, you will not be trouble by what you say in class. Remember what hapens in Rome stays in Rome.

If you want to build an objective mindset, keep your religious beliefs outside the doors of your classroom.

In my 200L I did write a test and the question was prove that God exists and I wrote the otherwise. You have to understand that what you say in that debate or test or exam is not a proof of your religious stand. As someone stated earlier, its purely academic.

I have a 9-5 job and a vehicle that would ordinarily qualify (2013 Kia Rio less than 40,000kms), but I might only be available for Uber rides on weekends only, as I have no plans to quit my full-time job. This will be more of a weekend side-hustle thing, so I reckon a net monthly profit of N50,000 - N60,000 is enough for me. So are you saying I can't achieve this driving just part-time/weekends only?

Bro, you see the first bolded part you are talking about is what Nigerians hear and their ears goes up like dog that saw a cat. If you work Monday to Friday from 9-5, you still want to add Uber hustling to it as a side thing and you want to make maximum profit.
Did you consider your health at all? This body is not a piece of wood o. If you carry out this your proposed plan, guy you will break down like something else. That is not my prayer for anyone but in our attempt to make money, let's mind how you push your body o. I have seen Uber drivers sleep of while driving and if I have time I will upload pictures of accidents involving Uber drivers All of them thought they could cheat nature.
Am not saying you should not do it o, but just consider your body o

As per the government laws, vehicles to be used for commercial purposes must obtain a commercial road worthiness and a public transport operator licence. I heard uber drivers always run into issues with vio because of this. Advice needed please.

As per the road worthiness issue, your car is registered as a private car so get a private road worthiness paper.

Concerning the VIO, you will only enter into their trouble if you use your mouth to tell them you are Uber. Technically you are not a staff of Uber so when they ask you are you Uber just tell them no.

Something similar happened to me two weeks ago. They took my documents and left me there. I simply went home made photocopies of the document came back and took my car away. Two days later I went to their office and they told me that if I don't bring the car they will not release my documents.

Everyday I pass them at the same location but they don't disturb me.

I will advise you if it's not the original documents just go and make copies and use
