Yea, you can include your U.S born child. I did that and got my visa approved last month (IW).
will I submit my receipts & zero-balance letter or only my international passport for the IW?

Uh oh… why don’t you just try IW, if they need you to appear, then they’ll invite you. Idk.. I had a baby in U.S 2019, yet I got an IW approval without interview.
Hopefully, I get a closer date. Let me see!! Thanks so much! See why two heads are better than one? Appreciate big time!

Thanks dear. I appreciate & I’m eligible for (IW) but decided to go physically present my case since most pple are saying it’s better to have a physical interview after medical/child-birth.
Thanks all the same.

Hello house, this place was quite helpful during my application time for child-birth (2018). I will be going for renewal (interview) in January, please, while filling my DS-160 , do I have to fill in my child’s name under “other persons traveling with you?” Though, we are traveling together but she has a US passport (citizen) kinda looks confusing since she isn’t applying, is filling her info optional? This is for just visit/vacation. Kindly assist!!

Yes you can . When you get to the USA you can always change from euro to dollars at the bureau de exchange located in the airport or other places in the city. But mind you the exchange rate at the airport isnt always favourable.
Ok. Thanks, I appreciate this!

Sorry about the outcome of your in-law’s application.
Yes, your in-law has right of appeal but the appeal will not go in his favour.Article 4 of the directive gave provision for his refusal because it states that If the applicant cannot provide valid proof to show they are currently dependent on their EEA national sponsor or the sponsor’s spouse or civil partner, the application must be refused so I suggest your in- law should fix the flaws in his application very fast as he might not be eligible anymore for this category of visa after June 30.
If you are applying as a dependant to join your EEA family member ( EEA family permit) few things are involved firstly you will need to be sure that your EEA family member is qualified I. E is your EEA family member exercising his/ her treaty rights in the country ? Is he/she self employed ? is he/ she self sufficient?, is he/ she under Job seekers platform ?or a student ? according to the caseworker you will need to provide the current employment details of your family member as you claimed he is employed. I hope he hasn’t lost his treaty rights though.
On your own part you will need to prove 2 things:
1. You will prove your relationship with the EEA national
2. You will prove your financial or physical dependence on the EEA national, once you can prove these 2 things appropriately you should get your visa approved. The only reasons why he can be denied again will be based on public health, public safety and national security which I have never seen anyone been denied on these 3 factors.
Going through the refusal letter I note that the applicant passed the 1st phase as he was able to prove his relationship with the EEA national but was unable to prove his financial dependency on the citizen.
To prove he is financially dependant on the EEA national he must demonstrate that for a relevant period ( not 1 year) he could not, meet his essential living needs (in whole or in part) without the financial or other material support of the EEA citizen, note: Essential needs in this context include accommodation, utilities and food. I said ( in whole and in parts because the ECO can’t justify you are not dependent even though you get extra money from elsewhere aside the support gotten from the EEA national) That was why the caseworker was expecting to see your bank statement so he can evaluate your income and see if you would ordinarily meet your essential needs without the help of your sponsor.
Evidence of his financial dependency on the EEA national might include his bank statements or money transferred to him by the EEA national over a relevant period.
Note: the magic here is that he could not meet his essential living needs without support from his sponsor.
Lastly do you apply as an immediate or extended family member?
Immediate!!! The applicant is mother to the sponsor (her daughter)

If you didnt have anyone then and you now have someone now, I dnt think you have any faults in tht aspect, so I am lost at the red flag part.
If he is sending an invitation, he should pls make it a complete letter. .. he must state who you are, why you are coming, who you are coming with, where you are coming to, for how long you will be there, his happiness to sponsor feeding/transport/stay anythin he is sponsoring should be stated in clear terms.. if it exceeds accommodation then let him attach his bank statements so the visa officer can gauge his financial capabilities.
The day you are going back must also be in d letter...

U are allowed to apply for visa up to 3 months before your intended travel dates... my only worry now is the state of uncertainty with these travels at this pandemic period.. there is no tourism going on whatsoever in the UK.. most places are locked up and travel is not ongoin except essential...
So in my opinion you need to either come out with ur full chest and say you and your daughter are going for family visit to your brother and be ready to convince the ECO as to why it is needed at this time or dnt apply at all.
If you are going to state ur reason as to see ur brother pls come up with plenty stories as to how u people are so close bla bla and need to see each other and any other emotionally tasking stuff u can come up with...
Tourism is not ongoing now
Thanks soooo much!!! Will do as u have stated. I appreciate xooooo much.

Please, house. In my last tour to the UK in 2017, I didn’t know anyone as I went for vacation/tourism, stayed a week & returned. Now I have a sibling there & would be using invitation letter with my dota now, he relocated there 2018. In my old application the column for family was NO. Would there be a red flag if he sends an invitation, I most likely would be staying in the hotel say 7 days (isolation as they put it) & stay with them the other 3days (10days in total) will it fly? Does he still need to send an IV? And if he is, what docs would/should be attached? Edakun!!! I know my questions are kinda clichè. I’m at a cross road as I’ve started filling my form. Also we (my dota & I) intend traveling in May, is it too far from application time (now)?

Your child who is a US Citizen doesn't need to apply for Visa to the UK, that's one of the pecks of been a US Citizen, just buy her return ticket and she is good to go smiley

You can apply for 2yrs visa or even 5yrs visa, just ensure your documents are adequate enough.

All the best
thanks. Invariably, there’s no need filling a form for her? But can fill her info in mine?

Good day, gurus in the house. Please, I intend applying for a UK visa(tourism) with my 2yr old, do I fill a separate form for her & she’s a US citizen, does the form for a Citizen differ? How do I go about it, please? Lastly, can I apply now for a 2yr visa cos I had applied in 2017 for a 6month visa, gotten, utilized & expired?
NB : all docs available.

House, please kindly assist. A cousin of mine intends traveling with his family(family of four-self, wife & 2kids) do they need to fill separate forms, open separate email add. Better still how’s a family form-filling different from a single individual filling?
Thanks in advance!

Good afternoon Nairalander. I wished I had been on this platform years ago. My sister introduced this page to me and I am grateful that she did. I intend to go on my missionary journey soon and I plan o. Going to newyork. All the cost/bills that I have been seeing are on the high side. From 10k and above. Does anyone have any good recommendation?. I need help so that I can do more research. Thanks

My dear, don't bother with NY hosp o. Way too expensive, a word is enough!! The cheapest would tell u 10/12k BUT at the end of the day there are some hidden charges they won't tell u that would be running into extra thousands. Talking from experience, so much so that most pple using payment plans are from this NY. Don't want "had I known" for U. I strongly discourage everyone going to NY o even if that's where u have family. Bad Market state, medically!!! Mmtcheeeew!!!!! Yessssss, I'm ranting!!!! I know!!! How can one be charged well over $25k, with deductions ooo as a self-pay angry

Please o!! I want to ask if it's compulsory that both mother & infant travel on the said date stated on the VOA approval letter? Since it's stated in the letter that "this document expires 14 days from the date of issuance", & I intend taking my ticket further due to unforeseen circumstances? Do I send another application? Thanks in anticipation.

Mama enjoy this phase while it lasts. My lil one used to wake up twice to feed b4, now if he wakes up around 10/11 he won't sleep till 2am and he would still wake every 1.30/2hrs to feed. Just relax and enjoy your sleep
Was only worried that she's too small/tiny for this. Thanks nevertheless!
