murphyibiam15:He obviously has a Nigerian passport. Megwa sounds like an Urhobo name. Or one of those Benue names. ETA: He's definitely a Nigerian as someone on this thread seems to know him from school as an unserious student |
mbahdi:If you had gone to school, you would have understood the importance of skulls for human being. You will always need a skull to house your brain whether you choose business or academics. |
When you eventually have daughters and you are able to train them to university level, you will find it difficult to allow them marry ssce holders. You obviously don't have exceptional material resources as that's the only reason they can overlook your educational qualifications (which believe it or not are poor for the country right now). You can also impregnate her as that is another way to make her people lower their standards |
The Nigerian civil war caused a lot of inferiority complex for Igbos. From a proud, successful tribes, the Igbos started doing attaché by force to the extent of claiming to be Jews, something that even a dullard should know is total nonsense. |
People are spreading malicious rumors that banks (gtb, access) and fintechs (piggyvest) invested with the doom Ponzi scheme but those were just the lies that the marketing agents of the IMG scheme used to sell their "investment" to unfortunate punters. They told people that so and so has invested one billion and people believed and invested on that basis. |
Lazyyouth4u:IMG was not fintech |
glimpse33:What nonsense is this? When did Wema offer 10% monthly? |
AfroKnight:What kind of business can you do that you will be able to pay monthly returns? And 10% for that matter. If you raise 10 billion, that would mean 1 billion naira in monthly returns. No business can achieve that at that scale so it is easier for the promoter to simply pay people with the funds of new punters. Most businesses increase profits by using their retained earnings until they are stable. Even after reaching maturity, they only pay dividends once a year or at the highest, once a quarter. |
SmartPolician:Lots of white scammers are around. Plus token stole over 4 billion dollars worldwide. The problem is the punters here who do not appreciate the fact that returns are variable. Returns can never be fixed, so anyone promising a monthly return is most likely lying or desperate. Is it possible to make 100% yearly returns in a business? Yes, but it is not going to come smoothly, same amount, month by month and also, after a while, the business would not need outside capital (if it is actually making such returns). |
They opened offices around to deceive investors or investors chose to deceive themselves because they saw offices around. I remember trying to raise funds for a particular enterprise and one of the persons I met was more concerned with why I don't have an office. I told him an office is not necessary since the business is not based on receiving visitors (imagine a farm or a produce trader having a walk in office in the city) and he said he can't invest because not having an office shows I am not doing well with the business. Imagine. That's how they got scammed by MBA Forex. A Forex trading company will not have branches all over the federation solely dedicated to raising funds and registering people for investment. That should have been a red flag. Sadly, the stupid punters (that's what they are, not investors) saw the many offices as a sign of genuineness rather than as the red flag that it was supposed to be. |
Ayomi90:Nigeria can never be sufficient in rice production. Believe the FG propaganda at your own peril. Not in quantity, definitely not in quality can Nigeria meet up. By the way, Fulani herdsmen did not chase rice farmers. An overwhelming majority of rice farmers are in the North West which is another reason (ethnic undertone) for the FG's support of rice farming. My advice to the rice farmers is that they should better save their windfall because one day, a pharaoh would come and he would not remember Joseph. |
ArcSEMPECJ:Like other countries don't buy stuff from us. No country is completely sufficient. The biggest exporters in the world are also the biggest importers in the world. Trade is a two way process. Countries should focus on things they can do well. From now till twenty years time, Nigeria would never meet up with India, Thailand or China when it comes to Rice. They have been farming rice since 19 gbidi gbidi no date with extremely low cost methods compared to Nigeria. |
Mrsoft3:If other countries do that too, we will be even poorer. You people forget Nigeria also exports things. All these economic patriotism that ignores the fact that one, Nigeria's rice can't compete in terms of quality. The Asian countries have a significant advantage in the production of rice. Two, by forcing Nigerians to eat local rice and subsidizing rice farmers with cheap loans and tariffs on their competitors (rice importers), you kill the incentive for improvement in quality. Rice farmers have enjoyed a boom under Buhari but that has not translated to any improvement in quality or even in the quantity they produced. They have also not proven to be cost effective because even after all the massive tariffs or cost of smuggling, foreign rice is only marginally more expensive than local rice. If the resources expended on local rice farming were placed on cassava, oil palm or even groundnut where Nigeria has a better comparative advantage compared to almost any country in the world, we would be able to get enough revenue that our rice imports wouldn't matter so much. |
2 million tonnes is 40 million bags of rice. Nigeria eats a lot of rice and there's no way we can compete with Asian countries on it. The correct thing to do is to focus on crops where we have significant advantage (Sweet potatoes, cassava, Yam, Oil Palm, Rubber, Cocoa) and use it to earn revenue rather than force ourselves to produce substandard rice at high cost while earning illegal millions for customs operators because we have placed an ineffective ban on foreign rice. But I guess our leaders do not believe in the principle of comparative advantage. |
You want to quintuple your investment in a year. Not possible. At that rate of return, you are speculating not investing. |
It should be three Nigerians who are not Lagos natives are holding office in Lagos. Lagos was developed with federal funds. Why should a native of Osun or Kwara on account of being Yoruba be more entitled to political position in Lagos than other Nigerians? Can an Osun state native go to Ondo to contest for position? Yet they come to Lagos and claim it's for Yorubas only and when one or two non Yorubas get position, it's used as a symbol for the faux liberalism |
The reason your boss can get away with such is that 1. Most jobs today don't really require exceptional people. In other words, any cog on the wheel can fill in. So it really doesn't matter who you pick for the job. If the guy truly offered something spectacular to the company, he wouldn't even have to do an aptitude test. 2. There are so many people available so you can use arbitrary standards to select people. |
principi:Even the boy claimed he was not raped only to be told he is a minor and cannot give consent. |
Yes, it does, Captain Obvious |
Don't be surprised if in future Wike becomes say a Vice President, that FFK would be glad to work as a special adviser to Wike. Such a shameful person that can't stand for something. I am not a fan of Buhari or Tinubu but both of them stayed in the opposition for a long time when they could have done the easy thing and embraced PDP. It is shameful that some politicians cannot bear to be in the opposition because they serve their stomachs. |
Oldmansense:That won't work. What they do is download your contacts at the point of applying for the loans, and also download the first five numbers you have called and first five numbers you received call for (from your call log). Removing permissions after becomes a waste of time. |
NL1960:Actually a lot of people basically roll over (that is, pay then retake another loan). So it actually ends up being for a whole year. They are meant to be short term but the hard times make people unable to repay. |
emmanuelewumi:That's even normal. The Chinese loan apps lend at 50% per WEEK. They don't accept deposits because they bring the money from China. |
You cannot lend money at such high interest rate and such short tenor and not expect default. Also, their staff salaries are linked to the loan recovery so many of those staff go overboard in trying to extract payment. Anybody so slandered should not pay the loan back, that way they would soon understand that shaming is not a loan recovery method. It's not as if they would undo the social damage after you pay back. |
Why call them fintechs? Chinese triads laundering their illicit money by lending at 50% per week is what they are calling fintech? |
Neverlosemoney:They lend at an average rate of 10% per month so they should be able to pay 20% annually. The problem occurs when they raise more capital than they can successfully deploy. |
You can say no without acting like a thief |
Na so red pillers take dey turn incel. You want to Bleep a gender you hate, huh? |
You are in Alaba and all you want is Biafra. How many Bosnians remained in Serbia after the collapse of Yugoslavia? It is foolishness to think that "Biafrans" would be able to stay en masse outside the Biafran region after a split of Nigeria. That's when the excessively high birth rate and small land area would come to bite the Igbos. |
DrManhattan:He used to take it a lot. Even Guardiola had to caution him. |
