Dear Madam, I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to offer you some advice and viewpoint on your current position as a female minister who is allegedly involved in corrupt practices. While I understand that each individual's circumstances are unique, it is crucial to address the ethical implications and potential consequences that accompany such allegations. Firstly, it is important to remind oneself that engaging in corrupt practices ultimately undermines the very foundations of democratic principles and social justice. Political leaders often bear the responsibility of serving the public's best interests and ensuring a fair and just society. Corruption therefore erodes the trust and confidence that citizens place in their public officials leading to the degradation of the political system. Moreover, as a young female in a position of power, your activities carry symbolic significance. Available records have shown that women have historically fought long and hard for gender equality and quality representation in politics. I believe that as a youthful female in a position of authority, you possess the strength, resilience and determination needed for genuine reform and national progress through your ministry; the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. You were already positioned to embrace the opportunity to make a difference, not only for yourself but for the generations of women who will follow in your footsteps. Rather than resorting to corruption, I encourage you to embrace the power and influence of your role as a federal minister to effect positive change. You have the ability to champion causes that will improve the lives of women, children and the marginalized strata in the communities by dedicating your efforts towards addressing social and economic disparities, promoting gender equality and combating corruption. But by engaging in corrupt behavior, you risk perpetuating negative stereotypes that may undermine progress made by women in political leadership and if found to be true, your actions may inadvertently discourage other aspiring female politicians or reinforce the harmful notion that women are less principled or capable in positions of power and authority. I just hope that these allegations are not true. Furthermore, it is crucial to consider the potential consequences of engaging in corrupt practices. Corruption not only damages ones personal integrity but can also result in legal repercussions, tarnishing ones reputation and diminishing anyone's ability to continue serving the public. The short-term gains achieved through corruption are far outweighed by the long-term damage to anyone's credibility and legacy. On this note therefore, I urge you to reflect deeply on the reasons behind your alleged involvement in corruption and evaluate whether these motivations align with the values and principles you hold dear. You can also seek guidance from mentors, advisors or trusted confidants who can provide objective perspectives and support that will further position your growth as a young and promising leader. Lastly, remember that it is never too late to change course and reorient your measures towards the greater good which you had started with. But to sincerely do this, you must first and foremost acknowledge your mistakes based on this experience and take full responsibility for your actions and this will set the footpath for you to be more committed to a course of integrity and transparency thereby reclaiming your purpose as a prospective leader in the political landscape of this country. With sincere hopes that you would weather the prevailing storm for a better future, Abraham Achimugu. Public Commentator. Writes. (2024).

Written by: Abraham Achimugu. (2024) Police are uniformed individuals who are responsible for keeping law and order intact. They are a group of personnel who are there to enforce laws and to prevent any kind of civil disorder, save lives and punish defiants or criminals who go against the rules and regulations of the constituted authority. The full meaning of POLICE is Public Officer for Legal Investigations and Criminal Emergencies. It is important to note that there are both positive and negative aspects associated with the process of law enforcement. Therefore, the question of whether the Police is a friend or foe can vary greatly depending on individual perspectives and experiences. For many people, the Police are seen as a vital part of the society who serve and protect lives and properties. They enforce laws, maintain public order, respond to emergency situations and work to create cordial relationships with the immediate neighborhood in which they serve. To this set of people, Police officers are seen as friends who provide help, support and a sense of security to the citizens. On the other hand, there have been instances where the Police have been seen as a foe, particularly in cases of Police misconduct, abuse of power, racial profiling and excessive discrimination as well as unequal treatment. However, it is important to acknowledge the fact that, generalizations about the Police are sometimes unfair, this is due to the fact that some individual officers who are dedicated professionals can have exceptional approaches and dispositions in the line of duty. In conclusion, the Police can indeed be a friend rather than a foe if the Police service commission is able to implement comprehensive training programs, policies and oversight mechanisms that can position the officers to act ethically and within confines of the law. it is also very essential to address and resolve any organizational gaps within the law enforcement industry that contribute to negative experiences and perceptions among the general public so that in the end, a model in which the Police would be seen as partners who protect and serve all members of the society while holding them accountable for any instances of misconduct or abuse can evolve.

[PRESS RELEASE ADOPTION OF GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO BY 45 POLICAL PARTIES, A TOTAL DECEIT - PDP The Governorship Campaign Organization of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described as a ruse a trending news report that a coalition of 45 political parties have adopted the All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate, Governor Yahaya Bello. The organization in a statement said the 45 parties mentioned in the story have no presence in Kogi State, so the adoption is of no effect, but only an exercise for the purpose of deceiving the members of the Public. It accused the APC of engaging in self-deception, saying that the Party is like a drowning man who would clutch at any loose straw in sight. According to the PDP, the only face and spokesman of the so-called coalition is a man with serious EFCC cases involving over 18.3 billion Naira Pension fund. The PDP Campaign Organization said it was not surprised at the development since the APC has become the harbinger of people with corruption cases who want their sins forgiven. The PDP observed that many people with corruption cases have moved to APC since the day the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, pronounced that whoever decamps to the party will have their sin of corruption forgiven. The PDP said that overwhelming majority of the people of Kogi State have already rejected the APC governorship candidate, and are waiting for the election day to vote in the PDP candidates. My case sounds peculiar, I will also welcome advice from vast and more knowledgeable persons pls. I have my voter's card (PVC) intact but the truth of it is that, contrary to the code that can be found on my card (Top left hand; 22,-01-02-000), my name couldn't be found on the register of where I am supposed to vote, rather, it has been relocated to another polling unit as can be found on the register there. I don't know how INEC did this, that place where INEC has wrongly relocated my name on the register is a couple of miles away from where I am supposed to vote ordinarily. This is my ordeal which has disenfranchised me from today's elections. With this situation, can I sue INEC for disenfranchising me? Advice needed please! |
