I really don’t wanna respond to some questions here. However I will respond to getting certifications or not getting one.
To burst you guys bubble. None, I mean none in my journey of being a data scientist requested for certification. Yes it’s good to have but it won’t guarantee you solving the task required to get that offer. Talking of corporate organizations which I’ve worked with never asked what I graduated with or certifications. My advice to folks out there just practice day and night on data. Crunch dirty data, keep grinding that data till you are good at it.

PS.. I’m writing Certified Analytic Business Professional (CBAP) and PMP so they promote me to managerial level.

OP @Ejiod, you made mentioned of traveling to different states across the country, how do you cope with SARS menace? I’m into data science as well and am about to get a machine but the fear of these blood sucking SARS officials eh, in Nigeria today it’s a crime to own a laptop and go about with it.
@Toppytek. I've never and pray won't encounter one. Though the one that stopped me and my colleague was NDLEA while heading to Bwari @ Abuja. My mission was to supervise guys collecting data. We only show them our ID & Explained our intentions and that was it.

Yes it's down. Udemy sued them for content infringement. However you can use VPN for fast download. Though it depends on the leech/seed ratio

It was sheer foolishness that lured me to biochemistry.

Please op, are these tools- Power Bi and Tableau, similar? If no, when are we to use power bi or Tableau
They do the same. However TABLEAU has been the boss for the past 8yrs in data visualization.
PowerBI is like a new kid in the block. Though I like powerBI for one thing which is DAX syntax which has edge over TABLEAU

Good evening sir, I am a civil engineering student. I am also taking a course on data science. Do you thinking will be able to get a part time job after I am done with course.
Possibility is 15% but you your skillsets on data science can set u aside and boost it to 50%. You just need constant practice with data. Infact be grounded on SQL, TABLEAU or power BI.

I want to learn data science, I am not a programmer at all, I will prefer to learn face to face first then I can build myself up from there. I am the kind of person that learn faster with face to face interaction/class. Any suggestions about a good place I can learn anywhere in Ikeja(way no go tear pocket o)?

I can learn advanced excel online because I am familiar with the environment good, I use it almost everyday. I can learn that myself bit programming and all, I can't do that with YouTube videos.
I want to.. I want to...
Just start with something. A journey of a thousand miles start with a STEP. Just get your PC and start learning

Only update I have is for guys to be dedicated.
Take at least 4hrs to study and practice your data very well.
TABLEU & Power BI is really becoming a force in data industry.
Most bosses want you to show your analysis in with Pure class tools... matplotlib and seaborn or ggplot are good but in reality you need to know these 2 tools.
Having these tools gives you edge ahead of others.
Dashboards are what makes you superior in this data industry and ability to run complex Statistical analysis when its needful.
For Machine learning and deep learning dudes: its advisable you store your codes. The practice is still the same but slight variations. You can reconfigure and transform your columns and fit it to your predictive model.Good also to push your codes to github.
If you wanna be doing descriptive analysis please master pandas, researchpy, statsmodel api plus time series analysis too.

Will end this with this quote
"Visualization gives you answers to questions you didn’t know you had.” – Ben Schneiderman

tsephanyah:

What if we told you that The Alphabet Company created the Maps to alter Google's search algorithm so that when people looked up some Direction,' information about location—and not about Disney being cryogenically frozen—would come up?

Screen Rant notes that cigarettes used to be cropped out of Walt Disney's hands in an attempt to keep up with their family-friendly branding, so while creating a hit movie to mess with an internet algorithm sounds nutty, it kind of also makes sense.

And if it was intentional, the team over at The Walt Disney Company are geniuses.
Please I don't understand this. Can you please explain

nairaland can be hacked maybe due to the php script being used.

Bro,please is just studying the machine learning course you posted and also excel, enough? I'm eager to get going with this.
There are 2 or if not 3 field in data analysis
Descriptive/Explorative analysis
You need to master these skills
Excel,PowerBI,Tableau,Pandas,SQL,

Predictive analysis
This is where machine learning, deep learning and NLP comes in.This forms the real basics of AI.

Both are under data science. However its advisable to have those skills set under both so you have edge.If you are just doing machine learning without knowing any visualization tools or excel it's just you playing around.

Been stressful this week..
Running dashboards and felt like my head blowing off. So tasking especially when all departments depend on you for data.

On a typical day, I run sql queries to pull data for different dept. Once done I get to run my analysis. Learnt something this week on Tableau on building word cloud. Been doing that with python but with Tableau it's just drag and drop.
In Tableau or powerBI you need to be grounded on data before you drag any field. When I mean grounded, you just have to understand the deep basics of data.Once you become advance then you start writing DAX functions.
The word cloud was for customers feedback from the product.

On how I got my third offer. It was through ng.indeed.com. Role for BI developer.
We were just 3 scheduled for the interview. We were given company's data to analyze.I did that as normal with my python scripting cool. Scatter the SQL queries and an data quality project. We both came in to defend our analysis. I was the only dude using Python to do magic. Had to go deep on the analysis even using machine learning to predict. Gave suggestions and during the interview the I had to demonstrate and explain all analysis. It was great though.
Boom the following week I was called saying I should come for negotiations. Naso I go oooo. They were eager to see me,commending my analysis.
Told them 350k and they were like that's so high.
A week latter they ask for an amount close to that and I'm like I will think about it and give them a call.
RULE1: In an interview never be eager when a firm offers you any amount.

Told them of the least I can take and they said they will call me on that. Finally they agreed.
