Settle the issue amicably o since its your sister... if you report them na big yawa o.. You may end up wishing you didnt involve the authorities...

bbaby84:

Please can you kindly share. My own story is that my sister told me she couldn't file taxes without including my son because I had him in her house ( Big fat lie) but unfortunately for me I believed. Didn't know my blood could do such. Fast forward 3 years I asked her to stop otherwise I would report her though it was a big fight she said she will. I need to know she has stopped if not I would truly report her and her hubby. I feel betrayed. With my second, I hugged the SSN number to my chest.

Since she is your host you have to thread carefully. Just make it clear to her that she shouldnt use it when filing her taxes and that if she does you would know. Taxes are filed first quarter of the year; ensure you monitor the SSN since it is possible and take necessary actions if need be.

Beryl15:

She opened it. Said she was wondering what it was. Like really
I don't know if she copied it. She actually mentioned filing for taxes before I even gave birth sef.
Now this...

Opened ... how come? something is amiss... My sister hung on to my baby's SSN for almost a year and i got it unopened.. You can find out if there is a way to notify the authorities that you got it with the envelop opened. Else you just hope and pray his SSN is not used for doggy ish... Pele.

Congrats @ nefertitiram. God bless your family.

Beryl15:
Let me rant...
My host handed me an already opened envelop. Turns out it's my baby's SSN card. angry angry
I'm really pissed right now.

Lets hope and pray it doesn't happen anytime soon. ( I believe it won't be on forever) If the law is abolished it I am sure it will cover both legal visitors and illegal immigrants just like in UK and most European countries there is nothing like Citizenship by birth even in our dear country Nigeria....

Snce the opportunity is there for now; lets maximise it and hopefully it gives our kids better opportunities than we had...

BABSFREY:
I do not think that legal visitors can be regarded as illegal immigrants. The story refered to birth right citizenship for children of illegal immigrants. That I think should be those overstaying their visa or those brazing the dust and rust along the border into the US. I may be wrong, but this is my take.

Waooo shocked... congrats Remen. Will start kabashing seriously.... Traveling at 35 weeks pumpem! This last American dream will be achieved by his grace grin.

Remen:
Hey ppl, i can finally post my experience. I travelled at 32 weeks to Florida and was tempted to move my flight to 34 weeks but hubby didnt agree.,anyway i had my gift from God on the 1st of August. For those of u ppl planning to travel late, I would strongly advise not to risk it at all cus it isnt worth d risk at all. My water broke at 35weeks 1day and dats when I had my baby. I can only thank God cus i was scared of having a premature baby who would need d assistance of NICU but that was not necessary. I will ans any question u guys have for me cus my story is a long one..(my BP was also very high at 33weeks and d medical care was just perfect)...

I will be traveling at 35 weeks some pips travel at 36/37 weeks tho risky. U still have about 8 weeks so its possible if you really want to do it and you have enof funds.
1. Book your visa appointment asap
2. Decide on state you want to go to
3. Contact a hospital and get an appointment/cost of delivery
4. Collate all the required documents for interview based on suggestions on part 1 and 2 of this thread.

All the best

duchessgoddess:

Thanks bbaby84 for your reply. But with my calculations with visa processing and all, if I were to travel say 32 weeks, it won't oh.
But plsss, if you have info on how I can make it happen, I'd be glad to hear.

And pls, what's the earliest week I can travel if 32 weeks can't work.

Thanks.

Hi,

It depends on how many weeks you will be there. My sons had the under listed in the US.

At Birth - HepB

At 8 Weeks - Hep B, DTap/DT/TD; Rotavirus, Hib; IPV and PCV.

Some babies take the second dose of vaccines as early as 6 weeks though.

Ensure you request for your babies immunization card so that there wont be any mix up in Naija.

Newmum15:
Pls @phema @ nerfetitiram @shawbabe and all other veteran mums pls what are the most important vaccines to get for the baby before traveling back home apart from Hep B shot?and all other vaccines needed sef.pls help ooo

Do you have a doctor in Ohio? speak/plead with him or her to write the prescription for you. Waiting for another 2-3 days for malaria drugs to come to Ohio may be fatal since it started 5 days ago. Else take him to a hospital... from what you described the little boy is really down. Please act fast Malaria kills if it is not treated on time.

Tiababy:

Infact, I have been crying all night. Feel so guilty. He had just recovered for diarrhoea that went on for 2 weeks before I left Nigeria. I don't even know how I overlooked the anti-malaria drug or even missed out taking malaria drug for him. But then, I have done all the wash rag thingy to no avail. The symptoms have gone worse.

Its possible. Maybe the agent thinks you booked two lap tickets. As far as the other infant has a seat (i.e you paid for a seat for him/her) you should be fine. I have done it before. If the infant is about 2 or less you can get a double stroller that u can attach a baby car seat to. It really helped me..

xyzabcuo:
Please house who has returned from U.S. with two infants oh.. is that possible? I read somewhere on delta airline website that an adult can take two Infants (one lap child and another a seat has to be purchased). I called the office in Lagos just to double check and the call agent said it's not allowed. Kindly advise my people. It's stressful but what if that's the only option one has under a short notice?
Thanks

In the CBN communique they only talked about withdrawals....

"The limit was reduced from $150,000 to $50,000 per person, per annum. The daily cash withdrawal limit per person, per day, is pegged at $300. No monthly limit was stated so i suppose one can withdraw 300 dollars daily for 30 days.....

In most cases the insurance company pays part and you will be asked the pay the other part which will stand as your Zero balance receipt. The cost is minimal in some states while in other states it can be more than $5000. She has nothing to fear if an Insurance company is involved and she pays whatsoever she is asked to pay.

Ess:

Thanks, so does it mean that the insurance will cover the bulk payment? Im just concerned on how the receipt of payment and zero balance will come out because the way she said it that the cost will be very minimal.

Hi,

H-1B, F-1, J-1 visas. Individuals who are on work visas, student visas, or have been in the US for less than five years are eligible to buy insurance through the health care exchange, but they do not qualify for Medicaid. As far as its not medicaid there shouldn't be an issue.

Ess:
Hello house, a relative got a J1 visa and plans to use the insurance to give birth so as to get a discounted payment. Will this be an issue?

lol no problem dear what ever works for you.. I do not know if its the castor oil but I had pain free labour on both occasions. I walked around alot though

toparie:
Haaaaa.... It doesn't sound very user friendly. I can't imagine going through labour with an upset stomach... Me thinks I'll be giving the castor oil a pass

Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by ejisky: 3:25pm On Jul 13, 2015
Castor oil works I've used it twice. For my first at 40wks + 3 days and second at 39 weeks. Ensure you are at least 39 weeks before you use it. My babies are normal didn't have any effect on them but do your research. What is good for the goose might not be good for the gander...

Please note that its the castor oil that is used as a laxative not the one used for hair o. You can get it in Walgreens if you are in the US. It will make your tummy run and in the process induce labour. All the best.

Beryl15:

Ok, since you've got first hand info on it you can give it a try. I know castor oil induces labour.
But wait till like 39w to try so U know baby is full term just in case.
Waiting for ya testimony grin

Hi,

Delta airlines has no restriction. See link below.

http://www.kidsonaplane.com/delta-airlines-pregnancy-infant-and-children-travel-policy/#Mother
[i]
Will be traveling at 35 weeks with KLM. They allow you to travel up until 36 weeks " Travel by air is usually safe for mothers-to-be. However, once you are 36 weeks into your pregnancy, we recommend against flying. We also discourage flying during the first week following delivery, also for your baby.

If you are expecting more than 1 baby, we recommend consulting your physician first. If you have had complications, you always need to have permission to fly from your physician.
see link

https://www.klm.com/travel/ch_en/prepare_for_travel/travel_planning/physically_challenged/index.htm#p4

You can call them to verify.

Beryl15:
Pls mamas who have travelled at 35weeks which airline did you use. This Qatar airways has messed up things for me...after they rescheduled my flight twice it seems I might not travel with them.
Biko its urgent, I need to Travel this week.

Ok I hear you I will let it go but i think it is absolutely unfair to tag me a marketer and delete my post because i narrated my positive experience. If you saw the deleted post at the end i admonished people to do their research before settling for a doctor...

This forum is supposed to be devoid of bias and promote a leveled playing ground while accommodating different points of view

Nogen:
Please, this Dr. Akere matter don do! Everyone must not use my doctor likewise I must not use everyone's doctor. Both of you are right. You got a fantastic experience from him, Modath's friend got a horrible experience from him. Doctors are not perfect , they are fallible because they are human.

Just like Modath, my friend had a horrible experience at Dr. FAGBOGUN but a lot of mums and dads here had wonderful experiences with him too. I was duly informed and I did a 360 U turn to El paso which was never in my plan. Whenever, she's ready to come here and share her experience , fine. But if any higher order risk mum pm me and asked why I changed from Oakend to Del Sol, I will gladly help her save herself. So please, let this matter rest.
