Justice must be meted out right away.

Nothing as painful in life like losing a child.

Nothing as bad like a parent burying their child.

So emotional.

So sad.

RIP Kaka.

Is this all you can say? How about calling on your darling president to see to it that this case isn't swept under the rug like others and that the grieving father gets justice.

Travel / Re: EU Plans To Impose Visa Restrictions On Nigerians by Ekpeitut: 7:32pm On Feb 23, 2020
The European Union is planning to soon tighten the procedures for getting a Schengen Visa for the nationals of Nigeria, as the latter is failing to play its part in the return and readmission of its nationals staying illegally in Europe.
Why can't Nigeria just function like a normal nation should. This government is not only clueless but also very irresponsible. This explains why Boko haram's raids and atrocities are now a norm (even sars are competing with criminals). A responsible government would have swung into action long before now to prevent what we are seeing today.

I can't help but wonder how our "presidents - Buhari/kyari/Monguno" and "honorables" sleep at night while their constituents are constantly being killed and chased from their homes.

Are we just going to sit down and fold our hands until this madness reaches every corner of the country? Remember it could be me and you running for our lives.

So these guys came into town and operated freely. What happened to our military's rapid response squad?

Politics / Re: Hundreds Sleep On Maiduguri Streets For Fear Of Boko Haram by Ekpeitut: 7:55am On Feb 18, 2020
What a shame of colossal proportion that even as the entire security architecture of the country is being populated and run by a section of the country they are still incapable of bringing lasting peace and security to their region and the country as a whole.

This goes to show that nepotism, tribalism and fanaticism isn't the way to lead a nation in the 21st century.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Is A 130k Job Including Tithing Be Considered A Good Job? by Ekpeitut: 3:06pm On Jan 19, 2020
Well 130k will be fine, if and only if your expenses match or is below what you're earning. I used to earn 40k monthly back in 2014..and I had 40k problems cheesy

Now I earn a minimum of half a Mill monthly..and guess what I still have responsibilities that corresponds to my earning. I'm not frivolous, I drink once in a while and don't chase women..(happily married). But I know pips who earn a minimum of 1.5m monthly yet they complain like kilode. It boils down to equating your expenses to your earnings. My target is to make my monthly expenses not more than 15% of monthly earning.

Lastly I don't believe in tithing.

Just wow! Every Tom, Dick and Harry is now singing national unity, I wonder where they were when the herdsmen were killing, maiming and raping people with reckless abandon.

Amotekun must be a damn good initiative. See how they are shaking. If not for anything the mere fact that these northerners are the only ones opposing Amotekun means there's been a sinister plan to undermine and create general insecurity in the south using the fulani herdsmen.

Says the president who had all his kids study overseas. You don't even believe in the country you're leading.

Sometimes I'm feel ashame for our politicians. Imagine Trump's kids schooling in naija.(Freaking impossible). Yet ours see it as a thing of pride even when they have in their hands the capacity and mandate to build model schools and ensure a high educational standards across schools.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Full Text Of Trump's Speech On Iran And Reaction On Social Media by Ekpeitut: 11:21am On Jan 09, 2020
Chai. Can a Nigerian president ever sound this way, reassuringly sure of the things he's saying. Ours is one lame, uninspiring excuse of a president.

I will this...
We will that...
But nothing ever gets done.

There's a silent pogrom ongoing against Christians and indigenous people in the north over their ancestral lands yet nothing is being done. Imagine the beheading of Christians on last year's Christmas day. No out rage from the presidency, no firm action. Nothing.

Sucks to be a Nigerian.

NaijaFutbol:
Nigeria needs a vision to believe in. The country is a collection of sections with different ideals of what progress means. Without unity of purpose, the country will remain backward. As you can see from the last set of elections, things cannot change because the side with more violence will always win.

If you have a family, better go raise them in a sane country where meritocracy and competence comes before ethnicity, quota and religion. They will see doctors who didn’t “sort” to make it out of medical school and will not need to answer yes sir to one illiterate whose only qualification is being born in the same town as one military administrator.

You can stay abroad and contribute your best in cash and kind.

Be open to starting afresh and conquer any austere condition as you may not be able to live large for some time.

Finally:
If you voted for or supported Buhari at any point, may your efforts yield no result. You better stay here and enjoy your change.

Thanks for your contribution.
And HELL NO I didn't vote BUHARI. I never believed in the dude for one second. I was born right about when he was military head of state and according to my parents everything happening now is like deja vu of his military regime.

Travel / Insomnia Thoughts - Should I Relocate Or Not? by Ekpeitut: 12:52am On Jan 04, 2020
Hello my people,

I've had this strong desire to relocate out of naija given the harsh economic climate, the hopelessness, insecurity and other ills. (Note: I live comfortably and earn decent wage, had part of my education outside Nigeria, my job also allows me travel outside every once in a while)

I had started the relocation process but I keep stalling because of the following questions/ thoughts that keeps popping up in my mind;

1. If all the sane Nigerians flee Nigeria who then remains to fight for the soul of Nigeria (Some may say Nigeria isn't worth fighting for) sadly I agree but it's all we've got.

2. The country I intend relocating to have had their fair share challenges but somehow rose above them to create the utopia that now appeals to me. So what's stopping me from doing same in my Country ? ( One tree can't make a forest - that's my answer)

I just want to sample opinions. Please keep them coming.
