Sorry for the refusal. Basically the ECO did not believed your intentions and purpose for the visa. Those reasons listed are just to find something to say and refuse you. Many have gotten visit visa without any significant savings or financial assest. If you are planing to visit the UK it has to be based on something else other than tourism. Say vacation which you can afford. That’s my take.

1. So far you have documents to show that the payment was bonus and commision earn from your work place. Then its okay. Your salary is good

2. You do not need to present this account or talk about any side business in your application. You salary account is enough.

3. Yes disclose that you have a relative in the UK. It is your perogative to visit or not visit her. If you want to visit her, then get invite from her and other necessary documents to establish her status in the UK. If not book hotel.

Thanks for the response...
How about making use of my wife's account which has the deposit has the main account for the trip however I am not a signatory to the acct as my wife is the sole-signatory.

UK visa is accessed on the current circumstances of the applicant. So you will be access on your own financial tie, and not your wife financial tie. Although your wife can sponsor you, still your own financial will still be accessed by the ECO.

Good day,

I intend travelling to the UK with my wife and kid of 10 months for 7 days.

My wife owns her business which is duly registered in her maiden name.

We have been married for 6 years and intend making the trip as an honeymoon we have longed for.

I work in a bank and earn N5.3 mill per annum (over 9 years).
My salary account balance is low at the moment as I do transfer most of my funds to my wife and mum's account for savings as fixed deposit.
I intend transferring the deposit (3.5mill) upon maturity to my salary account and present to the embassy.
I hope this won't raise a red flag.

Definitely a red flag. You have simply liquidated your fixed deposit for visa application and you’re likely to be refused. You only need to support your bank account statement with your fixed deposit certificate and a letter of confirmation from your bank that the money will be avaliable to you at short notice. Then explain in a cover letter how you raised the fund for the fixed deposit.

@ekpotek, @justwise. My daughters got their first 6 month UK visas early August 2018. We were meant to travel in September as a family but duty calls at my place of work and we couldn't make the trip as earlier planned. Now am planning we travel for Christmas this year, I hope there won't be any issue with my daughters at the airport here in ikeja and at the transit port as to why they have not use their visas since August. I have been to the uk thrice and still have a valid visa. Thanks for your response

No problem. Enjoy your trip.

Hello Guys, Please I need your help....

So My Family and I are about to apply for Uk visa to go for my older sister's wedding in London. My parents and Older sister(The bride) are the sponsors, while me and my younger brother are dependents. My younger brother is still in secondary school so I think he is pretty much covered, As For me; I am a 24 years old and am a corper but am rounding up next week, I am also working but my income is not large enough to sponsor myself. Do you guys think I should apply as a corper considering the fact am rounding up soon and they might say I have no reason for me to return since I will have nothing to return to? OR should I apply as someone with a Job, the only issue I have with that is I do not earn enough and so my account statement is not great, so I do not want to show my account statement. I can only provide payslip. Another reason I am hesitant is I dont know if there will be an issue of a gainfully employed individual applying as a dependent.

Thank you in anticipation

At 24 and working you cannot claimed to be a dependent. So you will need to submit your own account and payslips even though your parent will sponsor the trip. This demonstrates your ties to Nigeria and your application will be assessed base you own circumstances and not your parents.

There are many people on this forum applying for UK visa to write PLAB examination. Read back and your will find what they did. Some got the visa, others did not. The most important thing convincing the ECO that you will leave the UK after your visit.

Hello all,

I am applying for a standard visitor visa (6 months)

I have just £800 (budg 3k) im my a/c but my dad will be sponsoring my visit so I'll be using his statement.

He did not have up to 1 million in his personal a/c but broke his fixed deposit of 5 million and had the money sent to his a/c.

1. Will this be seen as lodgement?
2. Does he have to write a cover letter explaining this or should a fixed deposit certificate be added as supporting document?
3. Am I to make a copy of all pages of the previous passport with visas or just the visa stamps?
4. Also, I want to use priority service. Are there any downsides to this?

Thanks in advance for your comments

(Background: I previously applied for 6mths (not nigeria) and was given. I was in the UK early this year (7 days). Also I have a good travel history. I am a foreign stdt - not working)

PLEASE, I NEED YOUR URGENT RESPONSE

Cc: FrontPageLawyer Justwise Jarus ekpotek Vicjustice

1. Yes
2. Yes and Yes
3. Make copies of all pages of the passport you are submitting both current and expired
4. None, expect UKVI may not keep to their stated timeline.
Your previous visa and UK travel history will count unless you are careless about your application.

Dear house,
This is my first time writing on nairaland. But I have a question to ask the gurus in the house. I am a lecturer and I had applied for a visit visa twice in 2015 and got denied. This August I reapplied for a business visa for a convention I was chosen to attend. I was refused and The reasons they gave was really disappointing, they even accused me of taken a loan that will expire Feburary this year whereas I put in a fixed deposit certificate that will be retired August. They said I did not include ties to my country, whereas I put in a landed document to show that I have a land even though Co owned with my fiance here in Nigeria. It was like they used another person's document to evaluate mine. I wrote to them pointing out these errors and they denied it stating that I do not have rights to an administrative review. I reported back to the alumni president and he contacted the m.p whom he gave the names of the representatives who were chosen for the convention. They gave him an assurance of a review as they wrote to the home office on that. How possible is it for a positive review. As right now, I am very angry and disappointed in them. Note since 2015 I have travelled to over two European countries on studies and workshops, Israel and even have a valid norweign Schengen visa for a conference I was meant to attend this month. Please I need a reply. Has anyone been through this?

Noone can tell. If you think that the refusal was unjustified. The best thing to do is to reapply immediately and add your recent communication with alumni president and the MP.

Hello FrontPageLawyer Justwise Jarus ekpotek and all members, i need your candid advise please.

I plan to apply for a standard visitor visa (6 months), and confused on how to correctly represent my application giving my scenario:

1. I have a 1.5m savings and a separate running salary account with about 250k monthly.

2. Spent about 4 years in the UK on Student visa over 8 years ago.. not sure that counts anymore.

3. can get a Invitation letter, please whats the best type (i.e. relation btw invitee and myself)

4. My company employed me to service a client permanently. Both coys are willing to give me an introductory letter stating i am an employee going on leave to return in a week. My thinking is its better to use one. The client company is Global however my salary description is from my employer- hence my dilemma.

Thanks for your contributions.

1. If the saving can be traced as inflow from your salary account - Good
2. Will count as you return back as expected
3. Depends on your intention. Are you visiting someone and plans to stay with them? If not, you do not need any invite.
4. Explain this in your cover letter and pray that the ECO can understand it. Me I dont understand how can your company employ you when you owned it.

The ECO simply does not trust your sources of income and finances as presented. I would suggest that you chilled for sometime. Straighten your finances. If you are self employed, you do not need to pay yourself a salary when your runing a one-man business. The ECO can easily see through this deceit.

The hotel is now fully booked as I tried rebooking again. please how do I sort this out so it does not affect my visa application. please note that am going for biometrics this week. please help out urgently

You do not need to panic. Make a new booking in another hotel and add it as part of your hotel reservation. Then explain in your cover letter, why you need to change your hotel reservation. To avoid another cancellation used a credible bank card.

Thanks for your response.

My financial is good? even with the fact I have been leaving low balances in my salary account? GREAT!

We never did go for our honeymoon, that not a fair enough reason?

So far you will submit both your salary and saving accouts which shows inlow and outflow between the two accounts, you will not have a problem as there will sufficient money to cover the trips plus extra left at the time of submission. Also your monthly pays of N800K plus is a sound financial ties to Nigeria. Like I said you need to convince the ECO on your intentions why they should give you a visa. A honeymoon trip is a probable reason.

hello ekpotek, justwise

I plan to apply for a tourist visa for myself and my wife in December and we plan to spend 7 days

Budget:

Tickets: 1589 GBP
Hotel: 445 GBP
Transport/Feeding/sight seeing: 275 GBP
MISC: 211 GBP

Total: 2520 GBP

I will be sponsoring the trip and I earn 870k a month after taxes. Due to a building project I am presently undertaking, I usually move everything in my salary account to some other of my accounts leaving an almost zero balance (this has been the case the past 5 months).

Presently I have 600k in a savings account which was credited directly from my salary account. We plan on making the application end of October by which time I will have a closing balance of 1.4million from my savings & salary accounts. My salary account only has credit entries from salary paid and the savings account only has credit entries from my salary account.

We have 3 kids but we will not be travelling with them, I also have a landed property in Kogi.

My monthly expenditure is 150k and my wife doesn't work.

What are our chances?
.

Do your wife and you have a history of traveling together outside Nigeria. Why do you want to leave your 3 kids behind? Who would take care of them in your absence?

Hello House, i need urgent response before paying for my ticket. I was in uk last yr on a six months visa. During application i stated that am staying for just 7 days which was what i did and came back. I reapplied for renewal around november which two yrs visa was granted. During application i stated am staying for ten days. But i did not go and have not gone till now. I am planing to go in next few days but planing to stay for six weeks or more. I want to ask would it affect me at point of entry? Would it also affect my reapplying in future application? What do i do pls advise me.

If you have reasonable need to stay in the UK for up to 6 weeks, declare same on your landing card and defend it at POE. That’s the way to go. Not traveling as initially plan is no big deal. All the best.

Are you saying there won't be any refund of the previously paid visa fee?

No. You will get a refund if you have canceled a submitted visa application before biometric. However you cannnot use the canceled application form again, because each application form has a unique GWF number. You just have to wait for the refund as adviced, if you do not have the fund to pay for a new application immediately.

Hello. Quick question please. For UK visit visa, does it matter if the bank statements provided are double-sided? I mentioned to my bank that it was for visa purposes and therefore I would rather it be printed single-sided but they said this was acceptable as well. I just don't want any issues as the staff at these visa centres have quite the attitude.

Double-sided is okay for embassies that collects original documents. UK VAC centers scan your documents (A4 size) using high speed scanner to UKVI directly and return back your documents. This is done once for each applicant. As such this is only possible with a single-side document.

Hello house.....
I need a quick answer to the questions below as regards to my application:
1. I want to apply for a UK visitor visa to visit an uncle and wife for Christmas, my wife and daughter will not be going with me. Do I need a consent letter from my wife to submit along with the application or no need.

2. I have travel together with my wife and daughter for vacation 2 years ago, do I need to copy the pages showing the details of traveling on their passports to submit along my application?

3. Does UK share biometrics data with other country, as regards to visa refusal in other countries?

4. I work in a company where tax have been deducted before salary is paid to me as regards I do not have a tax slip, I hope am fine without adding tax slip to the application.

5. Will I be allowed to submit family photos along with my application?

Thanks and waiting for an answer.

1. No
2. No
3. The UK share immigration data with most A list countries like US, EU, Canada etc. Be honest and declare any past refusal.
4. You are fine without tax slip so far tax deduction is reflected in your pay slip.
5. Yes, but you willl need to photocopy (colour) unto A4 size paper and submit. In fact all documents must be in A4 size dimensions.

Hello House,

I would need someone's help regarding an issue on my application. I panned to attend a conference in the UK sometime in October, I had the formed filled, paid the visa fee and chose a date of appointment but due to an unforseen circumstance, I would not be able to meet up with the date. Few days to the appointment date, I canceled the appointment and requested for refund of the visa fee. I received an automated email saying that I will be receiving the refund in 28days. I further sent a mail but didn't get any response. The bottom line is that I got an opportunity to attend another conference coming up in Feb so would love to reschedule my appointment. I want to ask if there is any number I could call or a designated email address to channel my request.
Thank you

Fill a new application form, pay and schedule an appointment. You cannot reserves an application that has been cancel before biometric.

Thanks for your timely response. But my debit card is adequately funded. It still baffles me. Have used 3 other debit cards for different banks and the accounts were adequately funded. i equally booked another hotel on.Bookings.com.and same thing occurred

I suggest that you check your billing address that it the same as in the your bank card record. Also the CBN recent action on Skye Bank has sent cautious signal to international payment gateways. You are likely to have many Nigerian Naira bank cards rejection in the coming months. Solution get a paypal account and link your bank card to it for seem less payment using PayPal.

No payslips as regards to this payment as am not based on salary. Please what document do i request from the company to support with application since it shows in my account that payment was paid by the company...Please help...

Ask your company to give you a supporting letter explaining exactly what you have said. The letter should explain why you are not paid salary or given pay slips and how your commission is calculated and paid to you.

Timeline
Application submitted 31st August
Biometrics 4th September
Sheffo receipt email 10th September
TLS collection email 24th September at 2.30 pm
Received passport with visa 25th September at 2.46 pm

My observation, TLS VI centre more organised, less strenous and faster than ikeja.

Hello house...please I decided to throw my question here since the Ireland thread(where my question is suited for) isn't effective at such...

I am planning to apply for Ireland tourist visa as a tourist. I have traveled severally in the past to the UK and have been looking forward to travelling to Ireland someday but haven't had the opportunity until now, I want to spend my forthcoming leave days from work in Ireland. Please note that my husband is a UK citizen and resident who visits me often in Nigeria. I have no plan joining him in the UK soon as I am still comfortable with my job hence my stay in Nigeria. Also,It is just going to be me visiting alone and hubby doesn't intend joining me from london as he has used up all his leave days at work.what are my chances please?

You will need to apply for c visit visa on your own merit. However, if you were traveling with your UK husband, you would have apply under EU free movement laws with minimal documents other than your marriage certificate and a copy your husband UK passport. Just go the INIS website and complete the application form. At the end you get a check list of documents to submit with your application. Another options if you don’t mind adventure and the risk is to fly into UK if you have a UK visa and ask your husband to take you into Ireland by road/ferry (You will need your marriage certificate). He drops you off, then come back and pick you when you are ready to depart.
