I want to apply for a UK visitor visa, having all the invitation document. I work as an Executive Director in a paint company where i was not based on salary but paid by commission and allowance and all are paid into my account and it also shows the name of my company on the statement though the payment varies, sometimes it can come in the account 3 or 4 times monthly and between 2-3 million Naira. No payslips as regards to this payment as am not based on salary. Please what document do i request from the company to support with application since it shows in my account that payment was paid by the company...Please help...

Ask your company to give you a supporting letter explaining exactly what you have said. The letter should explain why you are not paid salary or given pay slips and how your commission is calculated and paid to you.

Hello house, I am back to say thank you to all the wonderful people on this thread. My son's visa is out. He was denied at first and I applied exactly a week after I received his refusal note. I took the advice of ekpotek . I submitted same documents and upgraded the bank statements. I also addressed the initial refusal.

Timeline
Application submitted 31st August
Biometrics 4th September
Sheffo receipt email 10th September
TLS collection email 24th September at 2.30 pm
Received passport with visa 25th September at 2.46 pm

My observation, TLS VI centre more organised, less strenous and faster than ikeja.

I am planning to apply for Ireland tourist visa as a tourist. I have traveled severally in the past to the UK and have been looking forward to travelling to Ireland someday but haven't had the opportunity until now, I want to spend my forthcoming leave days from work in Ireland. Please note that my husband is a UK citizen and resident who visits me often in Nigeria. I have no plan joining him in the UK soon as I am still comfortable with my job hence my stay in Nigeria. Also,It is just going to be me visiting alone and hubby doesn't intend joining me from london as he has used up all his leave days at work.what are my chances please?

You will need to apply for c visit visa on your own merit. However, if you were traveling with your UK husband, you would have apply under EU free movement laws with minimal documents other than your marriage certificate and a copy your husband UK passport. Just go the INIS website and complete the application form. At the end you get a check list of documents to submit with your application. Another options if you don’t mind adventure and the risk is to fly into UK if you have a UK visa and ask your husband to take you into Ireland by road/ferry (You will need your marriage certificate). He drops you off, then come back and pick you when you are ready to depart.

I think it's understandable if you arrive a day or two to your training period and depart a day or two after. 8-10 days should be good to state, you may then extend it to 12-14 days on your actual visit without much worries. So I think sha, not necessarily solid....

I for one can state one week and even do up to a month, but if you try it, you can get injured.

@Wiselong. Yes is possible. However, I will not advise it. As this is will be your first visa, it is important to keep to your first UK visa plan. Many have unintentially extended their stay and regretted it as it affected their subsequent UK visa application. Like @OmoBendel24 said, you can add one or two days extras but not 10 days.

My company would be sponsoring me for a training in the UK and would be responsible for all the expenses, I want to clarify the following

1. My pay is about 100k per month and I have been working for about 4 years, I hope this does not matter
2. The training is for 6 days and I plan using about 18 days during my visit, should I fill the 6 days of training for the number of days I intend using or I should fill the 18 days?
3. I intend staying in hotels for some days during the training and then staying at some family friends house after the training, should I include that I would be staying in both places during my visit?
4. What other documents do I need to add to submit to enhance my applications?

I would strictly advise that your application should be based on the training only. Mixing it with pleasure trip will not work. If you get the visa then you can extend your visit for few more days or revisit the UK after your training. Since the training is been sponsored, you will need the necessary documents from your company as sponsor and the organization conducting the training, as well as your personal documents to showing that you have a strong home tie to Nigeria (bank statement, pay slips, marriage certificate, etc) Read back and you will see list of common documents for visit visa.

On the 17th of August, I submitted UK visa application for myself, my wife and 2 kids. 2 weeks back, I received my wife's passport and mine with our Visas but the kids applications when tracked on Tls website are still awaiting decision even after 2 weeks of receiving ours. How could this be?. Your comments would be appreciated.

Same thing happen to someone I know. Mother was issued a visa and kid yet to get hers. Mother will travel out today. This certainly means that either the group application no longer working or TLS is messing up somewhere. Group applicants are suppose to be treated by same ECO.

The survey questions are generic. The questions are mainly about the visa application processes and services. They will never ask you if you got the visa or not.

With the little experience.... fill your forms carefully, have a valid reason for your visit. Your paper work will only speak for you. If you're writing a cover letter make sure it explains everything in details. Also, if you go the TLS with any supporting docs and the attendant tells you that you don't need one of the docs, they them to scan it... it's your application not theirs. It happened to me... my first application the lady didn't scan my docs for business dealings. Telling that my CAC docs and tax will do that. I was refused that my business doesn't have a valid means of transactions... I reapplied the next day I got refused. Got back there and I told them to scan all my supporting docs. I got my visa straight.

The person in question is not new to travelling or getting Visas.

The fact is that UK visa this year is not what it used to be.

Many funny reasons for refusal.

The whole reasons given for the refusal were fully taken care of very well.

Everyday, i hear people complaining of Uk Visa refusal, even those that have very glaring reasons to be in the UK for just a week or two.

Is not everyone that want to leave the country by all means, some people are doing well here too.

To be honest with you every UK visitor visa application is treated with immigration intent. The onus is on the applicant to proof otherwise. I have seen applicants been refuse based on the mistakes of the ECO in which the refusals was overturn. I have also since applicants who were able to addressed the reason for the refusal and was approved on reapplication. The catch here is if the ECO cannot convince himself from the application form submitted that you genuinely seek a entry visa for the purpose you have stated, then you’re likely to be refused. My advice to applicants is to read this thread, go through it page by page, learn from the mistakes of others and above all, pray that your application does not convey a desperation of immigration intent to the ECO.

Can a visitor to the UK on a 2 year visit visa, visit an Optician like Specsavers or Vision express to obtain glasses (paid for services) without violating terms of their visit visa?

Or do the UK high commission consider this part of medical tourism?

Yes you can do that. You will need to pay for eye examination and the glasses. Store like Tesco offer free eye examination. Spec saver also offer free eye examination provided you willing to buy their glasses after the test. It not a violation of your visit visa term.

Hi experts please assist, my mother's visitors visa was denied. Please see the attached.

The issue now is my mum's statement of account. I started that my mum is a petty trader and received in total,annually 1 million naira, 600k from sales and upto 400k from me and my siblings.

I didn't include any account statement for my mum as I assumed that since I was sponsoring my mum my records should be sufficient. I had submitted me and my husband's pay slips and also savings in my Uk current account of 10 000 pounds.

The issue now is the need prove of my mum's earnings, my mum's bank statement if printed doesn't show her finances as she hardly use that account. The money she uses goes directly from her sales to the local farmers who supply her goods in cash. When I and my brother send money to my mum we send it through my yonger sister as my mum hardly have the time to go to the bank . We sometimes send to her account too.

Please can I send the above explanation in the new application with evidence of these transfers from both my account and my brothers account to recipients that is my sister and sometimes my mum. In the last 1year I have sent them over or upto a million naira but this is not currently sitting in the account as the money is for their upkeep.Please How much do I need to leave in her account and for how long to sufficiently prove that she has these money .


The second reason the gave was that their is no proof that my parents still own the land property for which we provided documentation for. Please how else can we proof the existence of this property if not by providing the original document which we did. My parents already just completed their build and moved into the land in question and we provided all the original documents.The C of O isn't ready yet even though the already applied. I only gave proof of payment for the land and power of attorney documents including land survey.
I can transfer upto a million in my mum's account now but please for how long does it need to sit in the account before she can reapply as my mum will not be able to leave her trading money in an account as proof since she buys goods on a daily bases.

Please experts kindly advise on how I can proceed. Thank you for your time.

Sorry for the refusal of your mother. Your explanation above will not change anything. Since you claimed that your mother make over 1 million, then provide documents to show this claims which of course will be her bank statement, sales and receipt of goods etc to reapply. It is also reasonable for the ECO not be believe the land documents as it is not in your mother name, and her husband did not write any letter to support her visit etc. Sending money into your mum account would not change the mind of the ECO. What I suggest you do is allow your mother operate her bank account for the next 6 months with her trading stuffs to show inflow and outflow. Then you can send her money to for flight tickets directly to her bank account and re apply in 6 months time.

I was only asking for information on how to go about explaining to the France embassy that I will
go by train from London and back before coming back home to Nigeria.

If you already have a UK visit visa. Just buy a London-Paris-London train ticket and include it in your application for France Schengen visa. That’s all.

Standard visitor visa since a 7 day course is not toward a diploma or degree certificate.

This is so painful after traveling to the UK for more than 5times and applying for more than 3times and also putting to bed in the UK and paying all the NHS outstanding bills......I still got refused! Based on unclassified facts.

They gave 2 reasons for my refusal
1. That I did not complete my NHS payment....which I did already and also submitted all the receipts given to me by CCI UK.but it seems they did not confirm from CCI about the payments..... Meanwhile I have called CCI today and they said they will send a mail to the hospital to inform them I have completed my payments (something they should have done before now)

2. The most painful part is my school they claim I am not a student DAT my documents are counterfeits!.......And this is obviously not true! They sent a mail to my school to verify if I m a student and the school replied them yes! I am surprised they are still saying I used a false document.


Please if my school writes them again will that change anything? And also the Hospital in London. Please I need your advice please its very important and urgent please! What are my chances? Please what do I do?

After waiting up to a month for a reply I still got refused meanwhile my daughter was also refused because I was refused and he's travelling with This is so painful. Please what can we do is there still a solution?

Sorry about this refusal. Techincally you have been banned for 10 years, meaning that you will always be refused if your apply for any visiting visa till 2028.

The UK home office are famous for keeping records. If you did used their NHS and you had paid up, you should have collected a letter of No debt advice from NHS to include as part of your documentation.
The issues of your school documents will be is the school recognized by Home office to admit foreign student? Is your study a degree course or short course? Why did the school not authenticate your documents?

Anyway if you want to clear your name and your have all the necessary documents about NHS payments and schools. Then contact an immigration lawyer into the UK to handle this case or you just wait till 2028.

A cover letter is just an additional information which cannot fit into the additional information space in the online application form due to words limit. If your application is straight forward, then you do not need one. If there are issues that your want to explain outside the application form, then include a cover letter. Sometimes the ECO may read or may not read your cover letter unless you specifically direct him to it. The best way to this is to enter in the additional information space “See cover letter/note attached”. This statement point the ECO to read your cover letter for more explaination you might have. Remember the ECO have limited time to treat a visa application and will only read you cover note if you direct them to it.

There is nothing like visiting visa extension outside the UK. If your husband does not use the visa before its expire, he would need to apply for a new visa just like anyone else. Same procedures and provide documents relating to his upcoming travel to the UK.

You don't have to agree with my point. Many Nigerian youths are building N500,000 per month one-man businesses without any political connections. The fact that you think "having a political connection" is the only way you can succeed in Nigeria shows that you are ignorant of the opportunities going on around you.

The fact that you turn yourself into a "god" in this young man life by saying you are SURE that that he can't satisfy the british high commission in the next 10 years shows how wrong you are.

ALl this guy needs is 5 years. Hard work. And visiting the UK/USA or any other country will be a doddle for him. The only reason I am even bothering to answer this young guy is that I was once young like him, in this same exact position, and I don't want him to make the mistakes I made in the past. Took me many years to correct those mistakes. Now he has the opportunity to ride on shoulders of others.

Imagine this scenario...

You have a BIG house. You live in it with your family. A Visitor wants to come and stay in your house for two weeks. You give them rules & regulations.

1. You can't come to my house if you don't have transport money
2. When coming, make sure you come with your own clothing & feeding money
3. Make sure you convince me you wont spend more than two weeks (because I can't cope with you in my house for longer).

Now, imagine your intended visitor not doing any of the above, book a last bus from their village to your house, come with only N500 and showing intent that they don't want to go back to the village. Would you allow them in?

The uk has rules and regulation. Dudes current circumstances can't fulfill those rules. You are asking him to get his "white friend" to get immigration lawyer to fight his "visit visa" denial?

To ask an immigation lawyer in the UK to even look at a case will cost £500. For them to file a motion alone will cot another £1000. That is a total of £1,500.

Where do you want him to get that £1500 from?

Following the advises given here which the @Olugerm does not want to accept. Well @Olugerm if you’re that desperate you can use the option of going through the Sahara, crossing the Mediterranean and the British Channel to meet your white friend. Many have tried this route and some have failed and other have succeeded. However, remember that President Buhari said that you’re on your own. A word is enough for the wise. You could also look for UK funded scholarship to study in the UK and be with your white friend.

I've done all that before coming here. I spent hours checking various sites. I've even asked this question on their Facebook page before coming here,no response yet. I chose this platform as the last resort because someone might have used the airline and would have firsthand information. I was surprised to see one 23kg bag allowance on my itinerary, I never came here to raise unnecessary alarm.

If that is the case. Then your employer must have bought you a restricted and cheap economy ticket. You can always pay for additional check in luggage online, or during check in at the airport.

You are entitled to 2 x 23kg luggage allowance plus cabin bag (7-10kg) and laptop bag for economy ticket. Enter your ticket reservation/booking/reference number on air Marco website to confirm check in luggage allowance. You can also use checkmytrip.com before raising any alarm.

Yes you can reapply to explain why the child did not have a birth certificate until a week of application. Most importantly you need to provide detail of how you intent provide child care while in the UK.

Hello ekpotek, EndlessGrace, churockng, justwise, blza and everyone else that contributed to my post above. I want to sincerely thank you all for all your advice/suggestions.

My Mum was FINALLY granted a 6 months Visa by following all your suggestions as a result of my post above.

Here's what I did (for the benefit of others who might have this same issue):

1. She wrote a cover letter stating that she has travelled before, and never defaulted on her travel history. She also stated that she is a home maker and even though she stated that she was unemployed, it's because she does not collect an official salary with pay slip.

2. I sent her £1,100 towards the cost of flight (flights in august were expensive when we reapplied, so I sent enough) through worldremit and included the receipt in the application.

3. I transferred some £3,000 from my savings account into my current account and wrote in my letter of invitation to that effect. I also collected a letter from my UK bank to show that the funds in my savings and current account are available to me to spend.

4. I included a flight itinerary to show the cost of flight and that the amount transferred will cover it.

And with lots of prayers (i know...sometimes, it takes that) voila!

You pay by debit/credit card at when you have submitted the online application. Just follow the instructions on application portal.

Gurus in the house, please I need your advice on this issue. I intend to apply for settlement visa to join my fiancé in November and we intend to have our registry marriage in October.
However, my fiance has dual citizenship; British and Nigerian, We intended he went through the registry marriage as a British citizen but we're being asked for security clearance from the DSS or a fee of N100,000 to wave that requirement.

1. My question is, would my fiance going through the registry marriage as a Nigerian hamper my settlement visa application?
2. Having the marriage in October and applying for the visa in November won't pose any issues for us in the visa application, would it?

With a UK based education and balance of N1.3, you can apply on your own based on your immigration history. Bringing in your boyfriend as invite will only have negative impact and a potential immigration intent. I suggest you tidy up your business so as to improve your home ties to Nigeria.

No minimum amount. Carry as much cash as you intent to spend. If you put trust your Naira debit card to work at UK POS, then just carry small cash like £200. Remember if you carry more that equivalent of $10000 you must declare it at Nigeria Custom desk at the airport. If not and they discover it, they will sieze it and accuse you of money laundering.

Sorry about the refusal. The ECO is concern about your finances and personal circumstances in Nigeria which makes you an immigration intent with high potential of overstay. There is no appeal and I would not encourage you to reapply unless your situation change significantly. Continue to keep in touch with your white friend and hopeful you can try again next year.

You need to sort out your financial by detailing how all cash inflow and outflow correlate with your salary/business earning in your saving account. The ECO want so see how you saved over N2m. These are what you need to sort out in case you want to re apply.

Only the ECO can answer that question. Visit Visa approval are based on applicant current circumstances which include financial, personal and social ties to Nigeria. The fact your company is sponsoring the trip may or may not be enough to convince the ECO of your intentions. Since you have submitted, keep clam and wait for the outcome.
