Unless you have multiple sources of income! Then the applicant must declare these sources on the online application form. For example you can be in a paid employment and also be doing business along the line that brings in substantial income at is reflected on regularly on your bank statement. This business must be declared on the form and provide documentation to back it up as regular sources of income. Forex trading is a business and needs to be declared. Showing just a trade history may not be enough! You may also need a cover letter from the trading platform owners to support your forex trading activities.

Money lodgement is any significant amount of fund entering into your account within six months that is out of trend. It does not matter if the money is yours or not. Many applicants get into trouble trying to explain these fund. It is not possible not to touch your salary unless you're working in more than one place. You will find it difficult to convince the ECO why your salary is not touched. Be the way how much is your salary per month? If you have multiple income sources, then mention it your online application form and provide documents to support it.

Thanks for your response. I appreciate. Another twist is that I will need this money for some other things. I want it to be readily available rather than going through the rigours of applying and meeting the conditions of the cooperative at that time that is needed. It sometimes take more than one month to access the fund. The money is in the region of 400k. And it is captured on the payslips.

I quite appreciate your situation. However, the ECO are under stress to decide a lot of application, so putting a sum of N400K in your account before you apply is money lodgement wether it belongs to you or not. So why try to explain something you can avoid. It is not the closing balance in a bank statement that is important, but the sources of funding declared to support your financial position that matters.

I need some advice on the following questions below.

1 I am currently working on my account. But I want to find out if there is no fault if I submit payslips that does not tally with the months of statement of account. such as having March-August payslips (Payslips come late) and Bank statement of May-October. I am a civil servant.

2 I belong to a cooperative society that has been deducting my money since I gained employment. The deductions are captured on the payslips. I want to pay some money into the cooperative account and I will therefore apply for my contribution later to be paid into my account. I have the intention of explaining this as the source of the money. will this be a smart move because I have the intention of collecting a letter from the cooperative as a back up and I will explain this too. This is a big cooperative with above 10,000 members.

I will advise that you read back on this thread. Someone did just what you are proposing and was denied. I will suggest that instead of transferring the money to your bank account, you rather submit your a copy cooperative passbook showing the total amount you have saved with a cover letter from the cooperative indicating this amount and that the money is yours and avaliable for your use when needed.

I believe the home does not yet know that the brother had overstayed the Visa, why they only monitor who comes in and do not necessarily know who is gone out ( a lot of people will like to disprove this but that is the plain truth)
Her application should be treated on her own merit and as her situation as improved with goof finance she should be fine.
NOTE if her brother is caught before then, then it goes on file he is an over stayer which may flag up everyone he has tried to invite before.
but like her said if she has got stronger ties to Nigeria she should be fine

The home know what day you enter and leave the UK. That is why there is no border control or exit stamp when leaving the UK. So those that had overstayed will not be stopped if they decide to live. However, if cut, that is automatic detention and deportation.

@ekpotek , I am yet to receive d 40 pounds Ukvi initially removed from my card when I called them on the 17th of July. They have removed their main Call charges from my card but yet to return d 40 pounds cus I called twice. D first they did not pick but it was d second one they picked and dats what made it 40 pounds. What can I do now ? @ gurus in d house that av called Sheffield and gotten their initial 20pounds charges back

I have never use the pay call before. If the deduction was automatically, then your refund should be also automatically.

Hmm, that's interesting. I just hope it won't be messy having TLS separate the documents themselves; and they shouldn't consider any document irrelevant as the respective applicants know what documents they deem would boost their application.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to sort out the documentation into relevant sections. Sometimes TLC can offer to do this at a fee. Applicant should insist on submitting documents consider irrelevant by TLC if it will help their case. The following documents will not be collected or scan. Printed application form, photos, any document not in A4 size.

As quite a few people have complained of the ECO stating they did not explain funds or other parts of their application and thereby denying them, I just do hope the TLS truly scans all the documents submitted to them by an applicant. Do they really scan them documents before the applicant or they scan after the applicant has completed biometrics and left the facility? To be honest, I prefer the old style of sending hard copy documents to Sheffield. Just my thoughts...

All submited document are scanned in the presence of the applicant. The documents are separated into sections and scanned according to itemised documentation request on UKVI websites.

DOCUMENTS FOR MOTHER INLAW'S VISIT VISA APPLICATION

SPONSOR'S SIDE (You & Wife)

1. Letter of invitation written to the:

British Deputy High Commission Lagos
11 Walter Carrington Crescent
Victoria Island
Lagos, Nigeria

The letter should state that you are inviting your mother inlaw for *** reason. Include how long she will spend in the UK and that you would be responsible for her trip, accommodation, feeding and maintenance. Mention where you and and mother inlaw met and by what method you communicate. I'll advise you and wife to sign the letter together as this shows you are together on the invitation and a mutual decision between you and wife. Remember to clarify and expound on anything that may not be straightforward in your sponsorship or circumstances. Do not expect the Entry Clearance Officer to assume and read your mind.
2. Sponsorship undertaking form (SU07) (might not be necessary but I advise you include it). This is a signed declaration that you will be responsible entirely for the cost of the trip. You would be the one to sign it.
3. Copy of your British passport data page (maybe plus your Nigerian passport)
4. Copy of wife's passport data page, visa page and biometric card
5. Council tax bill and/or utility bill as proof of accommodation
6. Mortgage statement or rental agreement, if you have
7. Your Recent 6 months bank statement
8. Your Employment contract letters
9. Your 6 months Payslips
10. P60 for You, usually not necessary
11. P60 for Wife, usually not necessary
12. Wife's birth certificate (MUST). This is to prove your mother inlaw is your wife's mother
13. Wife's employment letter
14. Wife's 6 months payslip
15. Wife's 6 months bank statement
16. Marriage Certificate (MUST). This is the link between you and your wife which has your mother inlaw's name on it
17. Your child's birth certificate (if you want to go the route of your mother inlaw coming cos you had a baby, otherwise do not include)
18. Money transfer receipts, if you send funds to your mother inlaw sometimes
19. Call Log from UK (for calls made to mother inlaw). Remember it is a must to provide evidence that you communicate with your mother inlaw
20. Pictures. The UKVI site says do not include pictures as they will not be considered. However there is no penalty in including.


DOCUMENTS FROM NIGERIA


1. Mother inlaw's passport
2. Mother inlaw's cover letter (you can write this for her and send it to her to sign)
3. Mother inlaw's pension documents (since you said she's retired)
4. Mother inlaw's 6 months bank statement
5. Rental agreement and/or recent rental receipt in your mother inlaw's name
6. Evidence of any investments; properties, savings or bonds where necessary. If there is none, no worries.
7. Call log from Nigeria network provider for your mother inlaw's mobile number. Your mother inlaw, possibly with assistance, can get affidavit from any court and obtain a police clearance; with those request for a call log from network provider (e.g. MTN, GLO, etc). Your mother inlaw would need to join in this runs. You can also persuade them to do you a cover note linking your mother inlaw to the call log.

Remember to package the application in such a way that your mother inlaw has stronger ties in Nigeria than in the UK, but do not tell lies.

Hello all.I applied for 6months standard visitor visa sometimes ago using visa4uk.com and was granted the visa.I went there for my intended purpose and came back.Now my visa has expired and I want to make a new visit visa( 6 months visit visa type),now am I suppose make another application using the same profile I have on the website(visa4uk) or am suppose to register afresh with new email number,password and generate a new number or the former one will suffice?please help if you are knowledgeable in this.thank you

Yes you can use the same profile to complete a fresh application.

Sure you can carry your laptop on board as the ban does not affect flight departing from Europe to the UK. Your flight Lufthansa will depart from Frankfurt (Europe) on the final segement of your journey to the UK. If I can remember, the ban affect flight departing from Turkey, Egypt, Morroco, Qatar and probably Libya.

Please My mum was invited by my junior sister to visit her in the UK.

The visit start from 8th of August according to the invitation letter sent to us.

Just for 2weeks visit.

So my junior sister called me just now that the UK embassy called her last week Wednesday but she couldn't pick because she was at work then.

She is actually working as a nurse.

And so she missed the embassy call. But she has been trying to call them back since then without success.

Any one here with info if their email or phone number that she can call to reach the UK embassy and explain to them about the situation in ground.

Your sister must look for a way to reach the ECO. Read back there is a listed UK telephone number that she call. She need to pay for the call and hope it will be commicated to the ECO. Sorry this a potential ground for the ECO to refuse the application if she does not reach the ECO before a decision is reach. An understanding ECO should have called back, but they usually don't for a visit visa.

I give it to you, your opinions have a very strong solid base. I remember a lady once shared on this forum the refusal letter of her mother inlaw's visit visa application. Her case is similar to mine, but according to the refusal letter they failed to include the proof of relationship between herself and her mother inlaw. Also on finances, they quoted the applicant had £278 in savings in her Nig account but the ECO said there was no evidence of the funds. So I reckon the mother inlaw's bank statement was missing.

In my case, for relationship proof; I have my marriage certificate which shows my wife's mother's name. I also have my wife's date of birth which shows my wife's mother's name. I also have money remittance receipt of sending money to my mother inlaw as well as call logs and a few pictures of myself, wife and mother inlaw together. These are on top of the other documents...

Great. At the worst, the ECO may call you or wife to ask some questions.

My sister, my brother, myself ALL CITIZENS.. That would definitely be seen as my mother inlaw having plenty ties to the UK.

Mother inlaw does not communicate with my sister or brother. They only met on my wedding day in Nig and never again since then.

By virtue of having a daughter in the UK is already a plenty tie. In the past one can appeal a refusal of a family visit visa as UK take family life very seriously. They only refuse a family visitor if the applicant is unable to proof the relationship. In your case, your mother only need to proof the relationship with (daughter and son-in law). Other documentation are secondary. If she is refused, God forbid, it will be hinged on her unsubstantiated proofs of relationship and not necessarily her lack of home ties. My opinion.

Talking about family in the UK, what do you then have to say about my case? We inviting my mother inlaw to come visit us (wife and I) for 2 months as the application states. This is to provide emotional support to my wife as she gives birth. I have already sent forth my supporting documents to Nigeria. The application has my name as son inlaw and my wife's name as the daughter of the woman we are inviting for which I am the main sponsor; my wife would part sponsor.

Part of the documents I sent was my mortgage statement for the house. I partnered with my sister, also a citizen, to buy the house as my wife is only a year old in the UK and can't ordinarily be included on a mortgage. However the finances to purchase the house was generated between my wife and I only. The mortgage statement states my name and my sister's name. So I asked my sister to do a letter stating that she only teamed up with me for the purpose of the mortgage and she does not live with us which is true. I did not include my sister's name as family my mother inlaw has in the UK. Would you say my sister is family with my mother inlaw? There's no relationship. There wouldn't be inlaw directly attached to my sister here, but with me I am son inlaw. What do you have to say on this? Their TLS appointment is this week.

If your mother in law knows your sister in person as someone living in the UK. Then it is reasonable she mention her as a family friend and provide information on (your sister). Since 2012 I have been using my sister husband parents who are UK citizens as family member that I know and stayed with in the UK and I have never had any problem. In 2015, I added my sister to family member list, when she had UK Permanent Residence. In 2017, I added my wife to the family member list, after she acquired her British passport. Your mother in law would be okay because the reasons for her visit is understandable. Just hope for the best.

My concern is that I had plans of staying in the hotel in my last application, but planning to stay with a cousin in the course of my next visit.

All you need to do is to address the issues for the refusal in your next application. If you have a family member with a legal status in the UK please go ahead and mention it. You do not need to visit or stay with your cousin.

Hello everyone. I recently applied for UK visa to attend a conference as a guest speaker organized by the RMT (Rail Maritime and Transport Union, London). I was at the Tls on the 21st of July. The conference will be taking place on the 23rd of August. The organizers have indicated in the invitation letter that they will be taking care of my flight tickets, accomodation, meals etc. I will be staying for two weeks as suggested by the organizers. I submitted my mum's bank statement as am currently on my PhD. And also a copy of my admission letter was submitted. Now the organizers of the conference have asked if they should go on and pay for the flight tickets. Please can anyone share his/her thoughts on what should possibly be my reply to the organizers and also what are the chances I have for the visa to be ready prior 23rd August. Thanks.

My advise is tell the organizer to wait until you secure your visa!

In that any or both of them can be a sponsor. Your aunt is the invitee. She should provide you with her

Council bill/Utility bills
Copy of her passport data page
Cover letter declaring that she is inviting and she will be resposible for accomodation etc
You may also need a letter from your mother approving the visit if you're below 18 years.

Yes. Your payslip shows that you earn a living and that your monthly salary as reflected in the payslip can been seen in your bank statement.

The concept of family between the UK and Nigeria are different. The key issues is that UKVI want to know if an applicant has the potential to overstay if he/she have any family member in the UK? An overstayer is more likely to be housed by a family member including cousins for free of charge. Having a family member in the UK have its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are free accommodation and feeding and less financial birden on the applicant. Disadvantages are potential refusal as ECO may be worried about overstaying.

1. Only two categories of persons that can sponsor you. Those that are responsible for your education in SA and the invitee from the UK. So is your aunt responsible for your education? Is she based in SA or the UK? Anybody outside this group, you will have to justify and explain why they are spending their hard earn money on you!

2. All documents about your schoolings, registration, course forms, examination results, library pass. School ID card, payment of school fees, introduction letter from school etc. sure you can also include your bank statement.

3. Anyone sponsoring you must provide bank statement.

While answering the question if you have family members in the UK, what the Home Office sees as family (immediate family) are listed clearly and cousins ain't there

There are a lot of things that are not stipulated by home office! If I have a cousin in the UK I would refer the person as a family member! After all I cannot called the person a friend or what else.

A cousin is person born of your father/mother siblings. So it could be implied to be a family member

Yes the explanation will be tenable. When my wife applied for a renewal sometime ago she included a letter of promotion which was back dated to before her previous application, she stated that she did not include the promotion in the previous application because she had not received the promotion letter by then though the promotion had been in effect before then and her renewal was approved.

Every application is treated on its own merit. The OP has been denied a visa when she was unemployed. Trying to explained a backdated employment letter will only make matter worse. If she is now in employment, all she needs is an introduction letter from her employer backed up with payslips to reapply in 6 months time.

Question 1, Which visa should I apply for? I will be travelling to the US next month with Virgin Atlantic. I will stop over at Heathrow for 3 hours when going and 15 hours when returning back. I have made all checks and certain that I do not need a transit visa. Now I would like to apply for a UK visa 6 months Standard Visitor or 48 hour transit visa to enable me stop in London for a few days instead of waiting at the Airport for 15 hours (My ticket is amendable).

Question 2 Am I eligible to use the Priority Visa Service (since my travel date is the 15th of August)? My last UK visa was a 2 year family visitor visa in 2012 which was denied initially and later granted when I appealed the decision. I saw the below information on the TLS website.

Yes that's advisory is correct. However, since your refusal was overturn, you could argue your way out during submission at TLC and get priority service. However, if I were you I won't risk it, given current delay and backlog at UKVI?

The fact that you were allowed into the UK in 2008 after overstaying for 8 years and returning voluntaryly is a big plus and it is very rare. Thumb and finger printing taking at POE is a standard immigration procedure worldwide for non-citizen. You can apply with your new passport, and it will be linked to your old passport as everything now is biometric. There is no way you can escape it as your past will certainly come out if UKVI wishes to investigate you.
