Just put in the box not applicable. The visa will be issued largely on based on parents documents, if the parent are given visa, they will not denied the child.

thanks for your response. I have evidence of 400k leaving my account in that statement. I sent the money to the borrower from another account. so I took 400k from my visa account and transferred the full 700k through another account. All this happened mid of September and I want to apply maybe 1st or 2nd week in October.

on a related note, I want to tender my salary account in addition to my savings account to show proof of my salary and push of a portion of my salary to my savings. should I do this?

If there is an inflow and outflow of N400 - N700 consistently from both your acccounts, its okay. You can submit both accounts and explain the inflow that is not salary related with documentation. As this is your second visa application, your past visit will also count.

I meant that I had a closing balance of over 1m in other months prior to borrowing and repayment of the 700k. when I borrowed the 700k, I had like 300k left in the account but upon repayment, the balance for this month is over 1m.

You definitely have a hard time convincing the ECO that this is not money lodgement. Unless there is an outflow showing the N700K leaving your account and coming back within the 6 month bank statement.

If you have a closing balance of over 1M. I will advice that you remove the 700K to another account. Otherwise you will need to explain the lodgement with documents to ECO

Write a cover letter to point out the mistake and submit it with other documents for scanning during your appointment.

Here's what I have..



I have worked with the company for 8 years.

I can build my account to 1.6m, but all expenses will be handled by my brother.

My expenses are:

1. Flight tickets (round trip) from Lagos to London and London to Lagos = 300k
2. Flight tickets (round trip) from London to Manchester and Manchester to London = 50k

My accommodation and feeding will be taken care of by my friend in UK. He's also a British citizen.

I will only visit: Old Trafford, Manchester cathedral, Manchester Town Hall, and I have good home rest.

I think you misinterpreted the counsel of @Justwise. No one is discouraging you from applying. The point is if you are able to save up to N1.6M, why not sponsor the whole trip? Sometimes relying on a UK resident to part sponsor a visit visa require explaning why they must do this and providing documentation to support the relationship, as there is a potential likelihood over overstaying (free food/accommodation). Believe me, the ECO will be more interested in your monthly salary, monthly expenditures and how you were able to saved 1.6M! Your worries should be convincing the ECO that this money is yours.

Exactly. If the church is the sponsor then she needs a certificate of sponsorship for her own stand alone visa and not a dependent visa. Seems the application was made with lots of conflicting information hence the ECO decision to doubt its genuineness

I am not too conversant with spouse/dependent visa. However, the church cannot be the sponsor in this case. Its the husband that is sponsoring. A cover letter from the church does not amount to a sponsorship. Otherwise it will be a work visa and not dependent visa. Having said that, the ECO is kind and the applicant is lucky to be giving the opporrunity for AR. The applicant should just address the issues raised and it will be fine. The click is the traditional and church wedding which was done while still waiting for visa outcome. This is a strong proof of relationship. Just my thoughts. Alternatively, the applicant can reapply and address the issues.

To be honest, you're not likely to get a visit visa to the UK. Misrepresentation in any form is unacceptable. The Irish embassy shares immigration information with the UK embassy as they operate a common border treaty. This means that you can easily slip into Ireland from the UK without border checks. So the likelihood of Ireland passing your passport data to the UK is very high, especially when you have to disclose the refusal in your UK application form.

You can apply now. Same category as your previous visa. Sure, you can apply for 2 years if you can afford it.

The degree certificate is just a proof that your study was undertaken in English. You may need to take an English language test if you do not have a degree.

Hello everyone, I have. Been following this trend for all over 3 months. I have been silent. Made an application for 6 months visitors visa for my mom.
biometrics was done since 14/6/17 I only got a decision 8/9/17 nearly three months.

I was really disappointed my mom was refused. I was sponsoring the application. I did say she has £500 as her own spending money. Unfortunately my own income wasn't not taking into consideration. It was only my moms. I did offer to spend £1500

From the refusal letter, there must be something wrong in what was filled in the online application form. I will suggest that if you have access to application form that was submitted, review the section that has to do with funding of trip, who is funding what, family and dependent details etc. The refernce to dependent could have arise if the applicant entered all her children (grown up) as dependents!

Yes you can reapply immediately if you think the ECO made an error and point it out in a cover letter.

Just to share with you some good news. Applied for Tier 2 and Tier 2 Partner with Wifey. Got the vignettes�

No family photos, no whatsapp whatever, no email or phone conversation, no letter from work or grandad, no cover letter, no payslips, no rental agreements.

Advice; just submit what you've been asked to. Nothing more nothing less.

I submitted Application form, CoS with maintenance , TB certificate, Police report, IELTS results, Marriage certificate, International passport.

Wife submitted (for dependent visa) same with recent bank statement and ID card - drivers license (showing her address).
She didn't include IELTS or CoS.

That's definitely the right approach, but even with all of this it's highly unlikely she'll be issued a visa. Visits can be extended for compassionate purposes, but this needed to be applied for while she was in still in the UK. As this wasn't done, UKVI are going to treat her as an overstayer.

I agree with you. The OP should forget about a visitor visa as no reasons can convince the ECO. The rules are very clear.

My God.... u spent 310 days in the Uk as a visitor. That is the major reason. You broke the immigration rule and they don't smile at that. There's no way your recent application would have been granted, my dear. As a visitor you are not allowed to spend beyond 6 months at a go in the UK on any visit visa. You spent nearly a year. Even if you are a friend to the Prime Minister and have all the funds in England, you are not allowed to overstay. In your next application you must provide a compelling reason at why you overstayed. If not you might attract a ban and you have given the ECO the impression that you are not a genuine visitor.

My brother, this one tired me oh! Most visitors have the impression that since there is no exit stamp anymore, that the UKVI cannot determine how long they have stayed/overstayed in the UK.

Payment is in dollars. The Naira equivalent is not known as this depends on what your bank will charge plus commission if you are paying with a Naira debit card

I might be wrong. I think the immigration laws allows you to apply for a spouse dependent visa if your wife is in the UK on a study visa. I do not believed she as indefinite stay since you have mentioned her working hour limits. People with indefinite stay are not limited by maximum work hours. You need to clarify her visa category.

Where is she currently studying? If not in the UK, then she must be in the UK to sponsor you, as she will be called for interview apart from the documents she will submit on your behalf to the Home Office. If she does not earn up to £18,600, then she cannot sponsor you, unless there are savings to augment her earnings or on special consideration eg, there are children involved.

I accept under the circumstances given I made a mistake. But I feel the ECO should not have doubted my sponsorship with all the proofs I submitted. I can understand the fact that my overstaying was the only major reason I was denied. But I will just like to know if I'm still permitted to apply next time and how must time should I wait till I do so. I'm under the impression that I should wait at least 6 a month. Please I would appreciate all suggestions and advice. Once again I cent that I committed an offence.

PS: I hope I have posted my contributions in the right mode, as I'm still trying to figure out how to post and reply to comments. It will be appreciated if someone explained the process to me.

From your refusal letter, the ECO believes and he is right that you have violated the terms of your 2 years visit visa. Let's divide 310 by 30 days, it will give us 10 months. This means that you spent a total of 10 months on a 24 months visa! Simply put, you spent almost half of your visa duration in the UK! This calls to question what you were doing in the UK apart from visiting your boyfriend as there was no explanation of your activities in the UK. It also goes to show that you might not be doing any financially significant things in Nigeria. Your sponsorship and relationship with you boyfriend which was taking into account in your previous application does not matter here, when a violation of a previous visit visa has been established. Having said this, your future application will be refused, unless you can explained and convince the ECO, by itemizing your activities in the UK with justifications for 310 days you spent on your previous visits. I would advise that you move your relationship to the next level by marriage and apply for a spouse visa. My thoughs.

Yes, very possible, as the UK citizen will send some documents to you.
Your bank statement is just one of the evidences of financial ties. The amount will depend on your circumstances eg. Pay, investments, etc. in the last 6 months. Please read back as all the answers to your questions are there

My proof of funds is shown in my bank statement of 550k I submitted for the application. Do I need to have another cover letter to it.I have had land property before the application before my employment but I thought was nt necessary on submission won't it be questioned these time.

N550K is about £1100. So if you save £106 every month, you will need more than 10 months to save £1100!!! So you need to explain this N550K thoroughly to convince the ECO.
