All you need is a letter from the bank stating you are the sole signatory to the account and attach the letter to your statement of account.in addition make sure you draft and type a board resolution on your company letter head and made the two other directors on the CAC list to sign...However, you need to think of separating your business from yourself,I mean the financial aspect of it,Don't mix funds together for accountability purposes and TAX REMITTANCE,you might think you are dodging the FIRS for now,but they will come for you sooner or later and they will hammer you big time which you might not be able to afford

The OP should make effort to clear the backlog of his tax evasion or else he should forget about UK visa application for now.

No. You will need a tax clearance. If this business is own by you alone, you might be permited to use it to fund a vacation, however, the ECO may see it differently. So I would advised you open a personal and fund it for at least 4 months before applying.

If you have previous passports make copies of each page into A4 size. It is expensive photocopying that the centre.

Make sure you arrive on time

Make copy of all non A4 size documents into A4 preferably in colour.

So the appropriate visa is standard visitor visa. You mist submit all the necessary documentation for a visit visa. However, if you hinge your application on transiting through the UK to the US, you may be refused as you do not necessarily need to pass through the UK to US.

Feel free to mention your cousin in your next application. But if your are planing to stay with him may lead to refusal. It is often very difficult to proof a relationship as it goes beyong just providing contact details and invitation letter. Since you have travel before, you should arrange your own accomodation and if issued the visa, find to visit your cousin and stay with him.

well truly its not life threatening but its a threat to the success of the project, its not a TRAINING, i am a project coordinator, and its a big software development project that requires my input at every stage, we are organizing the project with addition of some other companies coming for the project, all other members of the team have been granted visa even without great personal circumstances. I just pray they accept it this time and they grant my visa...i really don't need to be there for long, if not that the client requested outside the country whats my business there.

will just try my luck once more and if it doesn't will probably join them online and hope the project runs well while i coordinate virtually. but i might also contact the company over there even though they are not the one sponsoring to try and contact the embassy on my behalf may be tit might impact on the decision in some way. I am at a cross road, my MIL lost her passport 7 years ago and it contains lots of vital travel history including her denial to uk. The problem is we don't v a copy of d passport so we can't get details like date of issue etc. so am thinking should I click on NO when I was asked if she has previous passport and explain in a cover note that she has but we can't find it because it's lost. There is an option to declare that the passport is lost if you're using the old system!

This forum is really informative and helpful. How do i resolve an issue of refused visa application without right of appeal, and it was stated that future applications will be refused if the cause of refusal is not sorted out.

ok so i would probably leave the 800k saving account out of it since it wasnt disclosed earlier, moreso the company is signing an undertaking with Notary for my maintenance , accomodation , recommendation and ensure return if i voilate any laws during my stay. i have the full details and letter from the uk company, location of the project, project house address and payment receipt where i will be staying.

I initially attached a letter from the UK company but dey did not add the project office address only where the project will be taking place.

In as much as I can understand your feelings. The truth is that your personal circumstances cannot change over night. Providing all the stated documents is not the issue. The issue is that you will look desperate in the eyes of the ECO as the event had already started. Your visit is not an emergency nor is it life threatening that you cannot afford to miss it. Your company can always nominate you and send you for another training in the future, which will allow you to correct the mistakes you made in your previous application. But if you still want to go ahead, please do and let us know the outcome.

I was once denied a UK visit visa to attend a conference fully sponsored because I did not submit sufficient documentation. I did not reapply immediately, in fact, I sent the refusal letter to my sponsor in Germany, who then contacted the UK embassy on my behalf. When I reapplied a month later, the UK embassy called me to withdraw my application that they are overturning the refusal and that I should send them my passport. Even though they did not return my application fee, I got the visa due to external intervention.

You have stated on visa application form that you are currently employed as a technology supervisor and that you earn NGN 240, 000 (GBP 515 as per OANDA exchange rate at the time of application) per month. Although you have submitted a letter form XXXX Ltd, in support of your application, this is not satisfactory evidence of your personal circumstances. You have submitted no further evidence of your personal circumstances, any income, assets or property. Furthermore, the Gtbank statement submitted do not support receipt of your income. From the information on your application form and the documents you have submitted, I am therefore not satisfied that your employment and income is as stated. I am therefore not satisfied that your economic status is as declared. Without the evidence we asked for, I am not satisfied that you plan to leave the UK at the end of your visit or that you are genuinely seeking entry as a general visitor for a period not exceeding 6 months Appendix V4.2 (a-e) of the immigration rules.
In addition to the above, you failed to submit any documentation from the company in the UK where your employers company sponsored event will take place.
In light of all of the above I am not satisfied as to your intentions in wishing to travel to the UK. I am not satisfied that you genuinely intend a short visit only to the UK and that you will leave the UK at the end of the visit. Furthermore, I am not satisfied that you will be able to maintain and accommodate yourself adequately in the UK or meet the costs of your return or onward journey from the UK
I am therefore not satisfied you will leave the UK at the end of your visit (V 4.2 (A))
I am therefore not satisfied you will have sufficient funds to cover all reasonable costs in relation to your visit without working or accessing public funds (V4.2(E)).

Any future UK visa applications will be considered on their individual merits. However, you are likely to be refused unless the circumstances of your application change


Note: i submitted my bank statement and very sure it was cleary stated, they probably didnt look through it carefully.Also the company letter states clearly that its a fully sponsored trip. i am not paying for anything, company is paying for all expenses. i intend reapplying today, i have highlighted my salary credit line with a light pen on the gtbank statement submitted also attached my fidelity savings account with balance of 800k i would like to know whatelse to add so i dont get another refusal again. i am paying for priority again. cos the event as started was suppose to be there for 4 weeks but now i would have to miss a week

i have no assets or stocks and am 26years...first time out of the country. I submitted company introductory letter, sponsorship letter, hotels, tickets etc but as at when submitting the appplication we hadnt decided the location of the event venue but now we have

Dude reapplying is likely to lead to another refusal. Just forget about this event, since it is one week ahead. In the refused letter you failed to disclose that you have 800K savings in another bank. What do you think ECO will say if you now disclose it now. Besides, there was no visible communication eg emails, letters between you, your company and UK event host to support your application. Your application was refused because you failed to provide enough documentation on your personal circumstances.

Thank you. This only means that your visa stamp was not issued in Nigeria as it does not bear Abuja or VI!

For the fact Sheffield was indicated on your visa does not mean it was printed and fixed on your passport in Sheffield,it means the approval was given in Sheffield where bulk of visas are processed and it will carry a Sheffield reference number,.....Are u saying those who got decision and got their passports back in a week also had their passports sent to Sheffield?

My current visa issued in March 2017 was at UKVI01 (Victoria Island, Lagos). My passport only spent 5 days in BDHC. If you actually want to authenticate where your visa stamp was placed on your passport, kindly check the embossment seal on the visa. The seal on my visa is British Deputy High Commission (see image). So any one out there with a visit visa issued by SHEFFIELD should check the imprint on the seal stamped on the visa and let us know. I guess this will put a seal to this discussion. Thanks

You dont need tax clearance for visa if you are paye it will show on your pay slip how much tax was deducted if you go and pay personal income tax that is automatic refusal dont mention anything tax clearance cos they would have seen it in your pay slip

So far your tax deduction is visible on your payslip, you are good to go. The payslip is a documentation to show that you are in a viable employment and that what you claimed to earn as reflected in your payslip can be seen in your bank statement too. It is the way ECO double check on proof of employment and earning.

I am sorry dude. Things has changed. That is why UK visa is the most expensive in the world! However, if you have proof that applicants passports are sitting at the various incountry embassy for a visa sticker please provide such.

No that not true. All first time applicant passports are flown to the UK? Only certain applicants like frequent travellers and returning applicants that their passport remains in Nigeria. Regardless of the above, your travel history to grade 'A' countires will determine if your application will be processed immediately or queued for weeks

A friend of mine went to TLS office to withdraw his application, hoping his passport would be returned in 2 days or less. However it took one whole week, as in 7 calendar days. It is actually ridiculous how UKVI can get away with treating people like this. Why can't they allow applicants hold on to their passport until a decision is made?

I stand to be corrected. I have never heard of an embassy allowing applicant to keep their passport until a decision is made. If you're eager to get a decision same day, pay of 24 hours service. Haba

@Biza, I somewhat agree with you apart from your last sentence. Someone on this forum recently posted the refusal letters for her mother inlaw that had low funds in her account. It was gonna be sponsored by the UK resident. The ECO stated categorically that the applicant, a grandmother even, only submitted bank statement with low funds as the only evidence of her personal/financial circumstances. Borrowing from your logic, why did they even consider her bank statement and her funds

Each application is decided on its own merit. The most important factor is the ability of the applicant to show enough commitment to return weather sponsored or not. If the ECO can not be assured that your financial (sources of income) or social ties (marriage, children) is sufficient to make you return is automatic refusal. The OP had a soonsor, whereas his finances even under employment was weak, even in a stable employment. The OP must show that he/she can still be able undertake a high profile vacation in the UK using his own fund. Being sponsored is relative as there is no 100% guarantee that the sponsor must fulfill this commitment. Assuming the OP was issued a visa and something happen that the sponsor can no longer meet the commitment, will the OP decline to visit? No the OP will source of fund to make the trip anyhow. For elderly, even without employment, the ECO will normal view the relevancy of the trip, weather it is mandatory or not.

Sponsorship notwithstanding the ounce is on the applicant to demonstrate sufficient fund to also cover the trip with or without a sponsor if the applicant is in employment. You undoing was that you did not show enough evidence that you can cover the trip on your own just in case

Thank you once again for all the three Uk visas I applied for in the past and all the three were successful. Please I need your help for one of my good friends she contacted me that her mum's visa has been denied 3 different times. Her husband is British and she is on spouse visa too. Could you please kindly advise us on what to do. Please find the three refusal letters attached. I would be awaiting your response and other people can contribute too. We are hoping to apply for her Mum by the end of the year and we don't want to make the same mistake again. Thank you all.

My advise is for the applicant to wait at least six months before reapplying. Since the refusal was based on applicant financial tie to Nigeria, the applicant should work on this. She should organised her petty trading, keep all necessary documents such as receipts of purchases and sellings to show that she actually earning the amount she quoted and bank statement. If this is not possible, then too bad as next application can lead to another refusal and a ban!

so sorry for this unwanted outcome, what @ekpotek said is true, apply for your son's British passport here in Nigeria, if not, they wouldn't grant him a visa since they know he is entitled to a British passport.

Maybe the poser is naive about UK immigration laws. His son is technically a British Citizen even though he was born in Nigeria after the father must have acquired his own citizenship. He can be registered as a British Citizen if born before his father become a UK citizen since he still under 18 years. However, his son is not entitle to a British passport if his father aquired his own citizenship by registration. I advise the poster to go read about British Citizenship by birth!

The Decision states:
You state you will visit the Uk with your parent (Singular. While in the application it was stated both parents). In light of their(plural) refusal (Yes my wife was denied also in 2015 but she reapplied alongside my son,. Moreso, i am a Uk citizen with a copyof my passport attached to hisdocuments, so how was ever possible for me to be denied). I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry for a purpose that is permited by the visitor routes or that you intend to leave the UK on completion of your visit(i Run a private hospital and i attached a letter stating my position as well as the CAC of the hospital. Also stated clearly we are going for a Family vacation). I am not satisfied that there are sufficient funds to adequately cover the cost of your visit and maintain and accomodate you for the duration of your visit, or meet the cost of your onward or return journey(Bank statements of over 8million and sponsorship was attached, likewise a letter, bank statement and utility bill from our host(my sister) in Uk were also attached). I am not satisfied that adequate arrangements have been made for your travel to , reception and care in the Uk......

Any future visa applications you make will be considered on their individual merits, however you are likely to be refused unless;
1. your person circumstances change significantly between now and your next application.
2. you provide compelling new evidence with your next application.

Note: This application is for a 10month Old ooo.

Sorry about this sad outcome. From what it might appeared, your wife may likely to be denied since it was a joint application. Reading through the refusal letter, let me harzard a guess which I may be wrong. The ECO having noted that you are british citizen is worried that your son of less than a year old does not have a british passport! Why? The ECO is suspecting that you want to use visit visa route to immigrate him into the UK rather than get him a British passport which he is entitled to by applying from outside the UK. Note the bold. My advise is that you apply for your son british passport as he will never be issue a visit visa as long as you his father is a British Citizen. My Opinion.

Wiffy was at the VAC to collect her passport today. She applied with our baby...both had biometrics done in ikeja, 22 June,2017. Application was decided Aug 9th when I tracked it on ukvi website. Tls sent a mail yesterday that wiffy's passport was ready for collection without any news on our baby's passport. She was at vac today...6 month was granted to her while they said the baby's passport is not yet ready.

Congratulations on your wife visa. There will be no reason to deny the baby since it application was tied to your wife. Better start preparing for your trip.

Please, I am new on this forum. I applied for a 6months visitng visa to the UK and submitted since AuG 27th. This is my first application. I applied with my mum and sister who are frequent UK travellers. Altho their application was renewal, while mine is a first time. I am a trader with my business certificates, also married with kids and have landed properties. I make a profit of about 300-400k in my business monthly and it is reflected in myaccount. My account balance was over 4M. what is battling me is that yesteday, I received a mail from the ukvisa centre that my application is not straitforward, so they can not make a decision now....under consideration...... or something like that. I called my younger sister if she got the same mail, but said no she did not and neither my mum. We applied and submitted togethter o.
today, my account manager called me that they received a call from UK embassy asking about my date of birth. My 2nd concern is my mum's bank was not called, and my younger sister is always sponsored by my mum even tho she is working but she used to submit account balance of even less than 30k, and visa will be issued to her.
Please who can tell me, why their is difference in my application, why did they send me that email, and not send my sister, and why did they call my bank and not call my mum's bank. why are they asking my bank for my date of birth, and what does that email about my application not been straightforward implies? Does it mean my application will be refused?

They have called your banker to verify your age which you must have provided your bank as per BVN registration. The reason is that you are the one financing your trip and not your mother. The onus is on you to prove that you will return after your visit. Your mother and sister have already prove that. Regardless of if you had applied with together, each application is consider on its own merit. The email you received is to inform you that your application will not be decided within standard time of 15 working days. So be ready to wait for a sometime before you hear from them.

Ekpotek and justwise I say a big thank you for all your help. I got my passport back last week and I was granted a visa by UKVI. Although it couldn't meet up with the conference I planned to attend. Can I use the visa for a vacation later?

Congratulations!! Sure you can use the visa for vacation before it expire. Make sure you armed yourself with all the necessary documents just in case you're asked at point of entry why you did not attend the conference.

If is an e-passport, you can get the passport number, by simply taking your newly issued passport to immigration office and let them trace back your passport application history! Next time keep a copy of your passport biodata in a safe place.

Get a new passport and apply. When asked about your previous passport, provide the passport number and declare that it is missing/lost. In any case, UKVI will have the information of your previous passport if you have ever used it to apply for a UK visa before!
