No, it won't. Nigeria is in the 40s on the GDP list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal) For it to become in the top 20 by 2020, it'll have to grow a lot faster than the 7-8% or so it is growing. |
Hehe Tinubu and the ACN are effectively untouchable. At least, assuming one wants this republic to survive |
You need an army first. Declaring independence w/o one while having hostile neighbors is foolhardy. Lagos would be better off as its own country, though, I suspect |

These workers are the enemy of progress. Selfish and greedy thieves. They want to be paid, but don't give back nearly as much value as they demand in salary. Aregbe should fire any striking workers. The size of the work force needs to be trimmed anyways. . . |

I'm sure that you can google it and find the answer quick. But don't do that ![]() On a standard wall clock, if the time is 3:15, what is the angle between the minute and hour hands? (and yeah i know that this is the wrong section. mods, move to the correct one if you want.) |

Err dyoung:He is studying CS at a university, right? I assume that he written code even before university. Certainly as a CS student he'll have written code while in school. So it is safe to say that he understands the basic concept of variables, loops, functions, if statements, arrays. So I think he is more than capable of handling this book. Anyway, honestly I don't think it is that big a deal, both are probably fine. |
An honest man |
Point is understood. But the impression I got from the OP is that he has some previous experience programming. If that is the case, head first java is a pretty good book imo. |
Hehe Women like her are part of the reason I fantasize about older chicks |
Fayimora:Got it, you mean beginners to programming period rather than beginners to java (but who have programmed another language before) |
Yep. And I have. |
Really? Read the descriptions on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Head-First-Java-Kathy-Sierra/dp/0596009208 Seems like a beginners book? Or you think it is too advanced? |
^-- Heard good things about that. For Java, I'm liking Head First Java, 2nd Edition so far. |

31 August 2011 P/Harcourt — THE Rivers State Government said it has concluded arrangements to handover the management of the 24 new Model Secondary Schools to foreign experts. Already Governor Chibuike Amaechi recently conducted a group of Indian education consortium, Educomp Solutions led by its Chief Executive in Africa , Mr. Shantaram Hedgekatte round some of the schools under construction in various parts of the state. Amaechi explained that the schools cost the State huge amount of money, saying state of the art equipment would be put in place to get the schools ready for use by the next school session. "Each of the facility cost us about N4.5billion and would accommodate about 1000 students each. We also have students' hostels and teachers' quarters," the governor said. He stated that most of the moribund community secondary schools would be phased out to pave way for new ones, pointing out that 24 of these schools are being built in all the local government areas of the State. Mr. Shantaram Hedgekatte and his team accompanied the governor on inspection of the schools at Omuma and Etche Local Government Areas, Monday. At Eberi-Omuma, the school is almost 80 percent complete, same as that of Okehi in Etche and in Emohua Local Government Area. Amaechi said some of the schools, including those in Ebuubu, Eleme Local Government Area and Sakpenwa in Tai Local Government Area are 100 per cent complete and awaiting commissioning. The facility tour is part of government's preparedness to handover the schools before the end of the year and to provide the Indian education consultants with first- hand information on the facilities. http://allafrica.com/stories/printable/201108310780.html Thoughts? |
They should think through their actions a bit more and think about what the end game looks like. Between this report and the WSJ journal article, it looks like BH is becoming closely linked to Al Qaeda. If you are a Northern politician/insider with any brains, you should realize that Al Qaeda's objectives in Nigeria are not the same as your own. AQ probably would welcome Nigeria partitioning and the creation of some fundamentalist Islamic state. But if you are Northern politician, that is probably your worst nightmare. How does that saying go, "He who rides a tiger cannot dismount". . .? |
This is part of the reason I don't understand the mindset of these Northern politicians/military/intelligence dudes who have supported BH. What exactly is BH fighting for? If Sharia in all of Nigeria or some sort of Islamic Republic in all of Nigeria, then you'll cause the country to be split apart. However, if this happens, doesn't this negatively affect the Northern power brokers who support BH? The country is balanced on a precipice. In trying to use BH to "push" the country in a direction they find more desirable, they very well may cause it to fall off the cliff. |
Interesting |
D'Banj on the up and up! |
Honor and accountability is present in Japan. This isn't how things work in Nigeria. If a Nigerian politician makes a mistake or are grossly incompetent/unqualified, he will find someone else or something else to blame. With that said, most countries in the world are like Nigeria in this regard, not like Japan. |
Bit torrent, my man. You can almost any technical book you want there. |
