I am not really blaming JM for it, but i believe with a more attack minded manager he would have made that pass. The main isssue though is why was that a difficult pass to make for a professional footballer? Especially one that has been mooted as a special talent? There was acres of space for Lukaku and Mikki to run to on the right, a simple lofted pass to that side and it was a 2 v 1.
And if he was not going to pass why not run it to the corner flag? He did neither, even the bible warned us not to be lukewarm.......i am sure you can relate to this.

From my live view, I was a bit scared he could make a mistake with the pass. I knew it was the best option, but it was Rashford. A perfect pass would mean lobbing it over the defender. Playing it between the defenders meant he could pass it behind Lukaku, or it get intercepted. Lobbing it, it has to be off keeper's limit.

Even Mata was played through into the box on the right side but his pass went straight to the keeper. Something that should have been a tap in for Martial.

As for killing time, you must not go straight to the corner flag when you outnumber your opponents in an area of the field or whole field. You can first make three of more passes in the middle before going to the corner flag.

I would prefer he passed, but what if his pass was intercepted. Those days, Carrick, Scholes, Rooney would have passed the ball around until that two minutes is exhausted.

Even before Pep, Manchester City created more chances than United. The few we create we try to take them. How many times does De Bruyne miss an empty net after beating the goalkeeper?

I am not saying he was right. But it was not the first time we have seen teams killing attack with one or two minutes to go. Also I didn't trust Rashford to give an accurate pass from there. May be he too didn’t trust his left foot. A player like Giggs or even Rooney could have easily give a tele pass.

This is why I said Mourinho inherited a less superior team than Guardiola. Look at Lingard missing an empty net, and Rashford unable to beat the goalkeeper. Two one vs one with the keeper squandered.

Herrera was a defensive sub, Rashford was brought on to provide more defensive cover for Young same with Mkhitaryan on the other side...Without the substitutes we would have won today.

But Martial defended more than Rashford.

Mkhitaryan offered quicker play and we were troubling them still. The only defensive substitute is Herrera.

I think we had chances to win before and after the substitutes. It just didn't work because the chances fell on players who are acting confused.

The passing required some intelligence to get it across, otherwise it might not connect properly. It needed to be lob with precision, and Rashford decided, it was best to kill the time than risking that pass. But the other attacking players didn't share same opinion, so there was a disjoint.

Some other counters were killed by other players, so with 2 minutes to go, he decided to keep the ball. Unfortunately, his team mates felt it was still right to risk attacking, so they forced it even when Leicester had recovered. I think Lukaku was calling for the ball and didn't understand why Rashford was holding the ball, when Rashford pass it to (I think Pogba), he decided to pick Lukaku, that was how the ball went to our zone and never left there. Smalling didn’t help masters.

You are not seeing well.

The players are the problem. Is it Mourinho who should score an empty goal after beating keeper or the player? Is it Mourinho who should beat a keeper clearly or his player?

Is it not clear by now that Mourinho inherited inexperienced players, and some average?

Mourinho is very intelligent. We kept a potential top four team 7 points below us, instead of risky opening the game and losing all three points to them. Beat all the small teams, collect a few points from the big teams, you could be champion except there is a very consistent team.

Let’s not deceive ourselves, City is currently better. We don't have to chase them and throw away vital points in the process.

Players just returned from international break. The Liverpool team can be very good sometimes against the top sides. That was what happened today, despite the defensive approach. Liverpool are also very mobile covering so much kilometers, so Martial and Mkhitaryan gassed out quickly. The substitutes were even worse.

At the end Our keeper saved one great attempt, theirs saved one great attempt. The match ended 0-0

We should be looking to cement the 2nd spot or worse case scenario finish somewhere inside top 4 while managing to pick one or 2 cups along the way. I cannot complain about that.

Planning towards next season in terms of offloading deadwood and upgrading certain positions should start now, even from January.

Since October, I mentioned something like this, that City are in a class of their own. That was when some guys were angry we drew at Liverpool.
