I see nothing wrong with what Scholes said. Mourinho was actually talking too much about Manchester City. Secondly, Pogba was not the Pogba at Juventus.
Today we saw the Pogba at Juventus after the criticism. So the criticism reminded Pogba how he used to play and hit shots from 25 yards, just as he almost scored one today.

dopeJemi: KDB doesn't keep it simple to the end and he is not even as skillful as Pogba, the only reason why we complain is because he doesn't get it right all the time, cause if he did we wouldn't mind
Ronaldinho didn't always get it right, Pogba is a skillful player and is only expected The difference between the two guys you mentioned and Pogba is the speed at which they can move when a little space is opened up to move zig zag |

codedguy1: And why would the intensity not the same.
must he score the type of goals that were scored today?
Am only saying with intensity ANYBODY can score the type of goals that were scored today.
Martial and Lingard can score what they did today with Lukaku scoring 2 headed goals with INTENSITY in our game. That's all am saying. With the way these boys played today, Lukaku would have been minus one. Simply put it, he would have stifled the fluidity of the attack. Martial didn’t just play as a 9, he was involved in the moves, similar to what you would get from Aguero and Gabriel. However, Lukaku would have scored that header that appeared too high for Pogba. My be after that, we would have offered nothing more going forward after Everton began to press. |

codedguy1: That's all we have been saying ooo.
it will erase a lot of what we argue about here about hold up play by Lukaku because with intensity he would be in the box most of the time to do what he is expected to do.
The players need to believe that they can take on anyone and work towards it.
Mourinho is expected to drill this into them.
na wao shey we don score na default defending we done start to dey do. With Lukaku, the intensity might not be the same. It would mean one less player in the quick build up play and ball forward drives. He wouldn't also score any of the goals we scored because of the range and shooting skill needed. |

These guys need to spend more time in the box, it's not Lukaku this time The one he scored now, was it from inside the box he recieved the pass? Being in the final third and playing on the shoulder of the defenders is okay. Moreover, he was fed twice in the box but failed to connect properly. |

Matic is clueless in the final third. He slowed down the attack twice even when there were easy options.
Martial is a better nine than Rashford. Martial playing with his back to the goal is good. His drives towards defenders very okay.
Rooney is winning the midfield game. That was the role Gaal and Giggs were going to give to him.

afrodoc2: Jose has definitely done better than LVG or DM. Bailly and Pogba have been fantastic and Matic has done quite well. His 2 mistakes in my opinion have been Zlatan and Mikki, but he can be forgiven for those 2.
The major problem is the way we play and I think 4-3-3 with Pogba and another box to box midfielder will improve things. We don’t need a 10 as most of the top teams are not using that anymore anyway. Yes |

Ibime: True, he needs a 2nd Pogba, another B2B because all I'm seeing right now is no triangle for the midfield to build up play with. For Matic or Pogba to find Mata these days, they have to launch a 40 yard pass upfield. No cohesion at all between the 2 halves of the team. Yes, another Pogba. But one faster the than the current Pogba. |

Ibime: Good point, but Sneijder was never a no 10 in the sense of Ozil and Mata. He was one of a 3 man midfield, robust enough to get involved in the heart of midfield.
It was Ozil experience at RM that changed JM, and he seems to have lost his tactical ethos since then. The fact teams sat back for fear of Ronaldo allowing Real midfield to come closer to each other in the attack is not proof that he can make the 4-2-3-1 work efficiently. The quality of that Madrid team was high enough to cover up for some inadequacies of some players. Alonso+Diara work rate was enough to cover the 'nyash' of Ozil. Let’s not forget the quality of Marcelo who helps to carry the ball from midfield to final third. |

Ibime: From what I saw yesterday, Utd team is split into 2 parts.
In the 4-2-3-1, the distance between the 4-2 and the 3-1 is too great, and there is no cohesion between those 2 halves of the team. It is everything I hate about 4-2-3-1, and we saw these chasms between attack and defence when Jose implemented this system at Chelsea. The team did not move as one unit.
It was basically get the ball to the front 4, they lose it, and then the back 6 are being counterattacked. And repeat cycle.
The whole team needs to move 10 yards further up the pitch to establish proper build-up between the back 6 and the front 4. Fullbacks should be allowed to join the attack, likewise the top 4 need to get involved in the build-up play. It is a feature of a Juan Mata midfield to see this big chasm of space between the 2 base midfielders and the AM. We had that at Chelsea for years. That's a tactical instability that comes with Juan Mata. He should be able to join the midfield 3 and involve himself in build-up play that will allow the rest of the team move 10 yards up the pitch. This is why I prefer 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1.
Mourinho has never mastered the 4-2-3-1 formation, and I don't see why he is insistent on playing it instead of the 4-3-3 that brought him the most success. Good one |

abeg nothing is wrong with the team, just on a run of fixed draws and poor form alongside injuries to some key players.
man city go lose or draw today, then we shayo dis night till day break, then we trash everton 0-4 and everything go come back to normal.
Happy new year in advance comrades. Although it is hard to believe any prediction that City will lose, I can't hide my likeness for your kind of mind. All these guys wey dey scatter here with sack sack, na their kind their child go carry 4th position from 1st in previous term, instead of them look at the issue critically, dem go flog bastard from the child head. In the beginning of the season, my friend has it on record that I told him despite we were first and Chelsea down on the table, Man City and Chelsea were playing better football than us. He was of the the opposite opinion. This team never looked complete to me even when we were winning 4-0, I knew we had to keep players fit and hope for Ibra and Rojo to add positively to the team to be able to compete for the title. When we were winning 4-0, one thing I noticed. City and Chelsea have players that can hold, drive and dribble with the ball confidently without losing it. Hazard, Moses, William, Kante are very strong on the ball and move fast. City attackers are intelligent dribblers, when you have many dribblers in one team, it is hard to stop them. But United and Tottenham mostly rellied on passing. Tottenham pass faster. United pass slowly. No one is able to keep the ball strongly while around final third. The two players who are stong on the ball are in the deep - Valencia and Matic. These are the two guys I think are hard to dispossess, but let us not forget Matic is slow. We could add Bailly who plays with so much confidence as another player you cannot be dispossessed no matter how long he stays on the ball. One of the first solution in this team is to get an attacking player (someone like Neymar) who causes lots of trouble while with the ball. He is not in a hurry to release it, but even in tight zones he is keeping it, playing fast and turning defenders. Martial could have been the one, but he loses the ball too easily or lacks sense of what to do next when closed down. |

LongD: Attacking football? U sure u watched the match? They attacked, except no cutting edge. We need a match winner, like Neymar. A match winner would have opened them up badly. I am afraid to say, Martial is not that person. He had chances to go behind the defence line before anyone knew what was happening, he couldn't. He delayed his moves. He didn't prove to be an improvement on Mkhitaryan |

No one can deny we played attacking football tonight. The problem remains our players are mostly average.
Also the pressure is on Mourinho to play a kind of football is not used to. That was part of the result today. When we were winning 4-0, there was this slow build up and gradual opening of spaces. But today, these guys attacked with so much urgency that they were making mistakes. I think it is not the Mourinho's style, or a it is new way to play now.
Pogba lost us the points. I almost crucify Ayila in the Falconets under 20 women team where she ruined our winning goal from Oshoala. She touched the ball (although already crossed the goal line) and then the lineswoman cancelled it. Today, a professional like Pogba in a male team as big as United ruined us. I saw that ball going in. Is this now Mourinho's fault?
Luke Shaw: We are better with Ashley Young going forward into attack on the left side. Luke Shaw is very limited. His is far worse than Valencia's limitation. Blind would do better with intelligent passes and movement. Shaw has pace, that's all.
Injury has finished the team. The bad results would not be like this if Valencia, Bailly, Fellaini, Pogba and the rest are all available.
