as a human being,is it logical to bench a striker who had 25 league goals and won d EPL golden boot? hodson is playing a flat 433 WHR else wud barkely have played if not cm....and to think you justify sterling starting is just appauling
Kane lacks experience. I saw almost all England games since world cup. I have always followed for decades almost as I follow Manchester United matches.

Kane, Ali, Lallana do not produce what the rest did when England were winning with ease. You saw the pressure Sturridge brought, and the way they pressed with purpose, that was how they played since with the senior players.

kale is d best striker in England hence do golden boot..barkely would have started instead of Rooney...besides that 433 he started with won't favour any of d strikers
Kane, Ali and Lallana have no business being in the first team.

Rooney is playing CM and that is not Barkely's position. Hodgson should persist with the guys who have been getting the job done. Sturridge, Rooney, Barkely. Sterling will play well if these guys are in attack.

@elampiro, competition proper don start not those 100% friendlies and qualifiers you praise them for.
Hodgson is the problem. This just showed that experience matters. Ali and Kane who barely played qualifying matches are favoured as starters instead of Barkely and Sturridge who have been helping the team for years.

Mourinho has won the race to keep De Gea from Madrid, as the goalkeeper has told him he wants to stay at Manchester United and Real Madrid will not attempt to sign him.

De Gea is said to be excited about the new project under Mourinho, who talked to him and convinced him to continue at Old Trafford.

Today is the deadline for the verbal agreement that Madrid made with De Gea last summer to sign him for £47m. Madrid have passed up on the offer.

De Gea wanted to leave Manchester at all costs due to his bad relationship with Van Gaal but now he choose to stay with Mourinho.

Oga look in the mirror.

That is what black looks like.

How many players that look like you play in creative positions in Europe?

Either as a 10 a la Silva or a deep lying Playmaker like Fabregas.

I will admit mixed race playears for sake of discussion, but Arabs?

Come off it man.

Arabs are not black.

Brazilians are completely mixed and have already been classed as south American, so let's leave them out tesco conversation. Neymar is on record as stating that he is not black sef...

The main guys are Blacks, either born in Africa or in diaspora that have at least one pure black parent.

Please submit your answer.
After what Iheanacho did at the Junior world cup from the number 10 position, if he were Brazilian or Spanish, he would already be trained and made to under study Silva in that position. Or he would have been allowed to bring his own style with his sense of goals scoring and Assist into that position. But he is black, they already have positions carved out for whites.

True.

Or maybe we're not just good enough in those positions
So Mikel was not good enough as a number 10? 40 years old Roger Miller was probably the best attacking player in a world cup.

You also forgot Henry and Eto were not big strikers but intelligent strikers.

You guys gave some points though, but not to the degree you say it.

Nobody is arguing that.

I never said that Black people don't have technique.

My point was simple....Even in countries where there is a reasonably close distribution of Blacks and Whites, Black players tend play specific roles on the pitch. Defenders, wingers, Enforcers and Big Strikers.

That's why I listed all those countries where they have several black players, and all are more or less the same thing.

That's why I asked where the Black Pirlo, Ozil, Xavi or Inietsa is. Where is the black Carrick? or the Black Fabregas? Black Silva? Black Cazorla? Black KDB? You cannot see these players cos they dont exist.

How about Goalkeepers? How many Black Goalkeepers are there regularly starting in the EPL?

Read this article and see what I'm saying
https://sports.vice.com/en_uk/article/do-football-managers-pigeonhole-black-players

An extract:
May be we are being marginalized. Mikel was the most creative player of his age, if he were white, they would have created an attacking space for him. But on getting to Chelsea he was converted to a DM to learn to play like Makalele and Essien.

If he were Spanish or German or English, legends would have brought out their daggers against a brainless coach killing 'the most latent talent in the history of football.

Also, big clubs trust more European goalkeepers. Manchester United would rather play Ben Foster rather than buy Enyeama as a back to. All the Thomas Ukonos, Rufai, Shoronmu never played for big clubs. Roger Miller and Henry Nwosu were some of the most creative players, which club did they play for?

In a nutshell, African/black players are mostly needed to cover for the less competitive or less glamorous positions in football.

5 of the 11 players that lined up against Russia were black.

3 of them were defenders. One was a Winger

3 of the current German team are black. Two are defenders, one is a Winger

Half the Portuguese team is black. The black players are either defenders, defensive midfielders or wingers...

Czech Republic has a black player...he is a defender.

I could go on and on.

The current Dutch team is 50% black. They are mostly defenders, defensive midfielders and wingers.

France team has many black players...mostly defensive midfielders and defenders again

Look at the black players for Belgium

There's a reason this stereotype is repeated everywhere you look.
I was talking about leagues not national teams. Europeans would always promote their strikers to the top at early age. There was a time Fashanu was considered good enough to be on the bench for England but they dropped him.

Some of the best strikers have been blacks, Henry, Eto and Drogba.

Or we can also look at it from the ratio of technically gifted white players to technically gifted black players, then we see what we come up with
This doesn't follow simple logic. Let’s look at percentage of white vs black players in European league first.

For instance, we could arrive that there are 85% of white players and 15% of black. Or may be 5,000 white players vs 1,000 black players.

We when you get the above figure, you can now proceed from there.

You know you still haven't distorted the fact that black players are less technical, you know that right? You are just giving me reasons why they are less technical

This an argument about football in general, world wide, if I give you the task of naming 50 black technical players, will you be able to handle it without cracking your brain? Whereas I can just pick my 50 from barca, madrid, bayern Munich, atletico madrid, dortmund, man city, chelsea
There are more whites in the game. May be you should look at it from the ratio of technically gifted white players to total white players in the game. Vice versa.

Quite right.
Also, the bone structure in the feet at that young age is still quite tender and with constant feel of the ball, it would likely shape up in a way that would be receptive to the ball, thereby leading to a good close control/first touch.
Exactly, even the shooting accuracy will be better and weight of shot heavier because your feet gets use to hitting a hard object early, so the muscle, bones and nerves get stronger.

I actually think the reason why most of the talents are found across the South American region is due to the fact the players often start playing with the ball at tender ages. I think they even have a beach competition involving 5yrs kid players.
Messi for example started playing at the early age of 5yr old with his father as a coach. By then, his foot already got accustomed with the feel of the ball which would only get better as he grows older.
Okocha too was born among footballers who were his brothers. There's a likelihood that he started playing at a tender age with his brothers.
No doubt that talent is a factor but starting early also helps.
Starting football early, including sports and by large leaning generally gives one more skills and better mastering of the arts. Given same natural talent, one who started practicing early life will carry out his task with more finesse than the other assuming they both practice daily afterwards. The more you delay to start practicing while you grow , the more will look mechanical in the art/sports/work.

I went to a certain sports arena to watch football practice and I saw boys well kitted, but when they started playing, I was disappointed. I told them they obviously look like people who started football late like 12 years. The coach said I was right. They thought they were good, but they were actually mechanical to me.

Jose Mourinho is on a bumper Champions League qualification bonus.

He will earn a £1.5m bonus if he leads United back into the Champions League.

The new United boss is on at least £10m-a-year at Old Trafford but his deal is topped up by a number of bonuses for success.

And United are absolutely desperate to return to the top table in Europe, namely the money-spinning Champions League.

Among our young defenders:
Rafael
Fabio
Smalling
Evans
Jones

Jones has been the fittest since their arrival. Jones first miracle injury happened last year. Whenever he was not fit, it was harmsting. But Smalling, Rafael, Fabio, Evans, have all been injured from tackles - muscle injuries.

Look at playing time of individual players from 2011/12 to 2014/15

On This Day In 2011, ManUtd agreed a deal with Blackburn Rovers for 19 year old defender, Phil Jones. The rest is injury.
This is a wrong impression about Phil Jones. Except for this last season, Phil Jones had been one of our fittest defenders. Coogar actually created the wrong impression that Phil Jones is about about injuries - injury himself with rash tackles. And dadehmola has been promoting that recently.

Last season he had a blood clot in his calf and they said it was something not easy to deal with. That was his first injury which kept reoccurig till second part of the season.

If Roy is gonna play Sturridge, it had better be in the striker role 'cos he's just as useless as Sterling on the wing.
The problem with England is the lack of a playmaker to provide the incisive passes in the final third. They played well especially in the 1st half but then, looked clueless in the final third and could only create half chances.
I don't even know which of the players in the squad could come in to be the creative foil for the team. Barkley is an erratic ball hugger with zero intelligence, so is Wilshere.
The attack need some pace too. APart from Sterling, the other 2 are just too sluggish. If the midfield couldn't create enough, the attack should atleast be pacy enough to compensate for the lack of creativity in the midfield like Manutd team under Van gaal.
You and this creativity. Barkley is good but he won't have space in a 4-3-3. I still believe in Sterling, he probably didn't understand Kane. Some decent balls still went across the goal line from the left wing with no one to tap in.

The attack was too quiet yesterday. I think Sturridge or Vardy would have made it more busy. It's unfortunate that Welbeck is injured, he would have been the best on the left side.

I think the midfield is already set, there's no way one of Rooney, Alli or Dier would be taken off, that's why I mentioned creative playmakers like Eriksen/Payet who could operate on the wing and still provide the needed creativity.
I don't get the hype round Wilshere though. No doubt that he's a technician but so is Bernando Silva yet their endproduct are rubbish.
People often talked about his display against Barca which I don't get because he didn't outclass Barca's midfield with his playmaking nor sublime passing skills. He only dominated Barca with his physical presence, dribbling runs and his technique to evade pressure was immense but apart from this, he did nothing else.
Personally, I think his intelligence is zero.
Why about Sturridge in the attack? England will not do anything with Kane and Lallana, especially Lallana. Both were too quiet, and didn't look to even gel. Sturridge will bring an advantage of his ability to wave away a defender and then create space.
