coogar:Rooney would have been surprised at Ferguson's claim. SAF was trying to take charge though. But Rooney came to clear the true situation. SAF didnt talk again and RVP never countered Rooney. SAF was praising Giggs as the best and new penalty taker. But Rooney suggestion of RVP was eventually what SAF adopted. |
coogar:This reminds me of something. I made a suggestion about something to my Area Manager. He was so happy that the solution I proffered was good for the problem we were trying to resolve. He said I should accompany him to the Regional Director to announce we had got a good solution. Throughout the discussion, excitement and application my area manager never mentioned it was my idea. But I couldn't talk. On our way back he said to me. "You see how pleased the Regional Director was, he will have a regard for our Area." I said sir, he will have a high regard for you. Sensing that I felt some how he shone with my innovation without ascribing it to me, he said l am learning about Management. That in Management the boss takes the credit or blame for everything under him. That all the subordinate should hope for is for his immediate supervisor to know his worth. He said he too, his Superiors make his ideas their own and he understands. I just responded, "yes sir". .................. What am I saying? SAF was only talking like someone in charge. You wanted SAF to admit he adopted a player's idea ? That players now dictate to him? Then why is he the coach? World most respected coach. |
tess1:Rooney is number 10. That's where he likes to play and didnt want to share it with anyone. Even Andy Cole said Rooney likes playing behind another striker in a tadem. SAF said Rooney likes to play number 10 and that was Kagawa best position too. So he may have to rotate them. Rooney himself said he has always played behind a striker. Crystal clear. Have a nice day. |
Wayne Rooney hands over penalty-taking duties to Manchester United team - mate Robin van Persie Wayne Rooney has relinquished penalty- taking duties at Manchester United after urging Sir Alex Ferguson to hand the responsibility to Robin van Persie. Rooney , who faces Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday evening having scored nine goals in his last nine appearances for United, was criticised by Ferguson after missing from the penalty spot for the second time this season during the FA Cup third-round replay against West Ham last month. “To be honest, it was my choice,” Rooney said. “It wasn’t good enough. I went in to speak with the manager and said I’d spoken with Robin and told him he could take them. At a club like this, to miss two penalties like I did and not hit the target, it wasn’t good enough.” http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/9843372/Wayne-Rooney-hands-over-penalty-taking-duties-to-Manchester-United-team-mate-Robin-van-Persie.html Coogar, why do you dislike Wayne Rooney so much that you twists facts to disfavour him? Rooney and Van Persie both said they are very good friends off and on the pitch. Van Persie said he came to United partly cos of Rooney. They defend each other in the press. Yet you and your cohort tell lies Rooney wanted to play 9.Why then did he not play 9 or even co-striker for Moyes? He even played the number 10 behind Welbeck and Chicharito under Moyes. This is the end of this argument. |
coogar:You are funny. How can you say someone who scored 27 goals lost us the title in 2011/12? You have taken your hatred towards Rooney to a new height. Rooney was highest scorer in the league per minutes played. We lost the titles in 2010 and 2012 basically due to injuries together with : SAF joked with some matches. In 2012 he benched Rooney against Blackburn. He tested Scholes against Wigan /Newcastle. In 2010 He benched Nani and Carrick against Chelsea with Bayern Munich in sight. A league decisive game with few matches to end the season. A win for United would have ended the season. All I know is Rooney had a good season in 2012/13 considering he rose up to the challenge to carry the team when RVP went 10 or more matches without scoring. That was when we went on a huge gap at the top over City and set the stage for unassailable lead. |
coogar:You are pointing to the fact that he unhappiness was not tied to the number 9 position Van Persie was playing. However Rooney had a good season, SAF had a massive squad and was determine to make everyone happy. Then Rooney had to go on subb and position rotation with Kagawa, Welbeck and Giggs. This was despite Rooney having a good time in the hole at the time. He even finished with best assists record per minutes played in EPL that season. |
coogar:Let me just dash you this one. It doesn't remove the fact that out of about 9 consecutive matches SAF used Rooney out of position 4 or 5 times. Dropped him to the bench once and substituted him severally . Just because Rooney's body language was negative in Madrid. This was just after Rooney had scored 11 goals in 12 games from his natural position behind the striker. Not to mention assists. This has nothing to do with Van Persie. |
tess1:Be logical. Stop mentioning 22 games which spanned across 9 months. We are talking about Rooney being played out of position in 5 out of 9 consecutive matches. From Madrid game to Villa game. Same time SAF said Rooney and Kagawa might be rotated in the number 10. Rooney was having his best time in number 10 when suddenly SAF had to use him for defensive duties while Kagawa played number 10. Kagawa was number 10 in Madrid. Same against Villa, There were also substitutions. It had nothing to do with RVP. |
5 quick matches, yes. So Rooney should go play left back because he earns 250k? |
coogar:I dont trust your opta charts. Now are you saying he a was angry because he was subbed not because of number 9? We are getting there. Rooney played in the wing in Madrid and CM at OT. Was enough to get him angry. At same time he was prolific from the hole. Same period he was used in two or three league games in the midfield. These coupled with nine substitutions were enough for Rooney to ask questions. It has nothing to do with Van Persie. |
coogar:Not twice. Stoke West Ham Madrid home and away VILLA. 5 quick matches. When he was having a good time in the number 10 scoring freely, 11 goals in 12 matches. SAF liked to sacrifice Rooney. He like utilising his energy.

Sir Alex Ferguson: Wayne Rooney will not leave Manchester United for Paris Saint Germain Rooney was deployed in a deep-lying role at West Ham, but Ferguson has stressed he has no set plans for this position in future. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/10005355/Sir-Alex-Ferguson-Wayne-Rooney-will-not-leave-Manchester-United-for-Paris-Saint-Germain.html This is the West Ham match. I remember people said Rooney didnt do well in midfield for the first time. |
coogar:I read the article. Rooney was talking about midfield. He never mentioned CF. The writer assumed like you guys. Some writers think Rooney as second striker to RVP. Rooney position has always been number 10. RVP never conflicted Rooney. He said he was happy playing in number 10 behind Moyes. |
^^^ It's clear here. He even gave this interview when he was playing number for Moyes behind Van Persie. |
Wayne Rooney: midfield role made player want to leave Manchester Utd Manchester United player 'happy' and 'settled' under Moyes 'I got told to play in midfield and I didn't want to' Thursday 10 October 2013 11.42 BST Wayne Rooney has spoken publicly for the first time about his reasons for wanting to leave Manchester United and blamed his disillusionment on Sir Alex Ferguson playing him out of position after the signing of Robin van Persie. Advertisemen Rooney described himself as "happy" and "settled" at Old Trafford now David Moyes is in charge but the England striker notably stopped short when asked to clarify whether that meant he wanted to stay in Manchester or if he would renew his attempts to leave next summer. Choosing his words carefully, all Rooney would say on the subject was there would be more discussions behind the scenes. The England striker, preparing for the World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland, went on to offer his backing to Roy Hodgson in the wake of Harry Redknapp's comments that he would not trust the "clueless" Football Association "to show him a good manager if their lives depended on it". Despite admitting he initially wanted Redknapp to get the job, Rooney says Hodgson has turned out to be the England manager he has enjoyed playing for the most, and that the FA made "the right decision" choosing him ahead of Redknapp. Advertisemen However, it is his relationship with Ferguson that provides the backdrop to Rooney's explanation about the chain of events that led to him trying to engineer a move to Chelsea in the summer. He does not mention the former United manager once by name. Yet, in another sense, Ferguson is implicated in everything as the picture emerges of a player who had started to feel undervalued and mistreated after Van Persie's arrival from Arsenal. Asked whether he had raised his concerns with the relevant people at Old Trafford, Rooney opened his arms to show his exasperation and smiled knowingly. "Yeah, and …" That was the meeting at which he apparently told Ferguson he might leave and an already strained relationship was fractured. Ferguson dropped Rooney from his team and, to the player's dismay, publicised what had been said during a live television interview, describing it as a verbal transfer request. Rooney's account is that, after nearly a decade at the club, he felt he had done enough to warrant a place in "my position" and was fed up of being told to help out in midfield. "Everyone at the club knew where I wanted to play and I think that's why I was disappointed. I got told to play in midfield and I didn't want to. I just think there had to come a point when, for my own career, I had to be a bit selfish really." This goes back to last spring, not long after he had been left out of United's starting XI to face Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final. "I actually felt when I played in midfield I did OK, but I didn't want to play there. I've had no problem in the past playing out of position. But I felt I deserved the right to play in my position and that wasn't happening. "I think, naturally, I was a bit disappointed and maybe that affected some of the games I played. I know myself that last year wasn't my best season but there were times when I was playing in different positions. I didn't feel I got a consistent run of games up front. Sometimes when you're not playing in one position all the time it's difficult to adapt." http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/oct/09/wayne-rooney-reasons-leave-manchester-united |
coogar:You dont understand. The games were very close. If Rooney had played one midfield game in August, one in November, one in February and another in April. He wouldnt feel bitter. But he played in number 10 all season and he suddenly got 5 matches off position out of about 8/9 matches. Tomorrow I will try to get that West Ham match. |
coogar:How can you say the games were not rapid? From Madrid away game he played about four matches to the day we won the league against Villa. Considering the tension SAF compounded it jor. I am tired now. After West Ham game, Alan Shearer said Rooney might leave Man United. That if he were the one he would ask questions. |
^^^ The figures on the right side were goals Rooney scored in the matches. He was enjoying himself in the hole and he was asked to go play where he would help defence. Haba! |
See Rooney 11 goals from 12 games from the hole before Madrid's game. People were singing his praise that period, then all of a sudden he had to be sacrificed again. If na you e no go pain you?
|
Coogar Rooney was in midfield against West Ham. Not in the hole. |
coogar:I disputing this. What I meant is that the games were too rapid. Came too quickly within a short time. I am sure he only played in the hole before that period. |
Tess1 5th March Rooney was in the right wing against Madrid. On 14th April he was in midfield against Stoke. On 17th April he was in midfield against West Ham. On 22nd April he was in midfield against Villa. The day we won the league. Cant you see why he got angry? May be I have forgotten some sef. Meanwhile I am sure SAF had not used him anywhere except in number 10 before Madrid match. |
tess1:You have refused to pay attention to details. I have said this over several months here. Rooney played out of position in quick succession from the Madrid game to the day we won the league against Villa. If the matches were spread across the season, he wouldn't have felt bad. It happened from Madrid game and coincided with when SAF said he might have to rotate Kagawa and Rooney in number 10. It happened that Rooney was playing some of his best football in the hole before Madrid game. Then SAF came under pressure when people said Kagawa was having a poor season due to his wing role. |
kingthreat:[/quote]I am not sure you are up to 30 or read much about coup history. Abacha and Babangida have been involved in all the successful coups in Nigerian history. Abacha is however the most successful coup plotter in history of Nigeria. Abacha was the one who didn't allow Babangida to hand over to civilian govt when he warned blood will be shed. IBB had to announce his hands were tied. ............ Military career Abacha was commissioned in 1963 after he had attended Mons Officer Cadet School in Aldershot , England . Before then, he had attended the Nigerian Military Training College in Kaduna. Refusing to accept a single political appointment throughout his military career, Abacha has been described as the epitome of military discipline. Abacha's military career is distinguished by a string of successful coups. He is by some records the most successful coup plotter in the history of Nigeria's military. He took part in the countercoup of July 1966, from the conceptual stage, and may have been a participant in the Lagos or Abeokuta phases of the January 1966 coup. He was also a prominent figure in every single successful coup in Nigerian history, two of which brought and removed General Muhammadu Buhari from power in 1983. When General Ibrahim Babangida was named President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1985, Abacha was named Chief of Army Staff. He was appointed Minister of Defence in 1990. [3] [4] In 1990, Abacha became the first Nigerian soldier to attain the rank of a full General without skipping a single rank. On 17 November 1993, Abacha overthrew the short- lived transitional government of Chief Ernest Shonekan . In September 1994, he issued a decree that placed his government above the jurisdiction of the courts, effectively giving him absolute power. Another decree gave him the right to detain anyone for up to three months without trial. [5] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sani_Abacha |
sinizia:All of them. scheneidelin (pardon d spelling if wrong) . Might just be that we have another Hargreaves or something like that. We need some physical presence to blend our midfield. Schweinsteiger = the image, his calibre, his experience. Depay, free scoring winger. Dribbler. Darmian, a natural right back. |
sinizia:How many times will I list them? |
tess1:Rooney was given defensive duty in Madrid. You seem to be the only one who didnt know this. He was asked to assist Rafael on the right back from his wing position. Kagawa played Rooney's position in Madrid. This was why Rooney was unhappy. But SAF felt he should have understood the tactics and plan. Unfortunately, it got to a time Rooney didnt want to understand. After the Madrid game, SAF said Rooney's preferred position is number 10, but he might have to rotate him and Kagawa there. SAF subsequently played in Rooney in centre midfield against Stoke, West Ham and Aston Villa. |
coogar:Look at United official website described the number 10 as upfront in a 3-4-1-2 formation. .......... Van Gaal tried some of his squad members in new positions on the pre-season tour of the United States. Ashley Young was deployed as a wing-back, Wilfried Zaha played up front and Kagawa adopted a holding midfield role. "It has been seven or eight years since I played as a defensive midfielder, but the important thing is I do my best in whatever position I am asked to play in," Kagawa said. "I have to achieve results wherever I play. http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2014/Aug/shinji-kagawa-and-manchester-united-will-use-last-season-as-trigger.aspx |
sinizia:He was unhappy about the number 10 not number 9. He gladly played the number 10 for Moyes when Moyes took over. Dont tell me about contact renewal because Rooney played 10 for Moyes in 2013 before his contract was renewed in 2014. |
sinizia:Quote when Rooney said he was sad with Van Persie. |
AdeLaNa1:I didnt mention Rooney in that response. If you have agreed 4-4-1-1 is not much different from 4-4-2, then you are already agreeing with me. .......... 4–4–1–1 A variation of 4–4–2 with one of the strikers playing "in the hole", or as a "second striker", slightly behind their partner. [13] The second striker is generally a more creative player, the playmaker, who can drop into midfield to pick up the ball before running with it or passing to team-mates. [13] Interpretations of 4–4–1–1 can be slightly muddled, as some might say that the extent to which a forward has dropped off and separated himself from the other can be debated. The system was most prominently used during the 2009–10 season by Fulham F.C , with midfielder Zoltan Gera playing behind forward Bobby Zamora as they upset many teams across Europe on their way to the 2010 UEFA Europa League Fina ......... 4–2–3–1 This formation is widely used by Spanish, French and German sides. While it seems defensive to the eye, it is quite a flexible formation, as both the wide players and the full-backs join the attack. In defense, this formation is similar to either the 4–5–1 or 4– 4–1–1. It is used to maintain possession of the ball and stopping opponent attacks by controlling the midfield area of the field. The lone striker may be very tall and strong to hold the ball up as his midfielders and full-backs join him in attack. The striker could also be very fast. In these cases, the opponent's defense will be forced to fall back early, thereby leaving space for the offensive central midfielder. This formation is used especially when a playmaker is to be highlighted. The variations of personnel used on the flanks in this set-up include using traditional wingers, using inverted wingers or simply using wide midfielders |
sinizia:Forget that question is first. I have proven that number 10 is upfront. Rooney didnt want to play in the wing with some defensive duties while Kagawa plays where he has played generally for United. That was what happened in Madrid. |
