JayKayMaybachz: ✔ ✔ Oga from wey yhu carry dis news from✔✔?
Coogar, Elampiro, StarBoard, Sailorxy, Afrodoc2, dopeJemi, etc... Did you ghuys hear and read this news from anywhere? Van Gaal did no say anything like that. The last thing Gaal said was that there could be a surprised signing in that department. If anyone has a new development , he should back it with link. This is my analysis about the situation. 1. No club will release its top striker because they are currently scarce. 2. Lacazette seems to be the good striker we can pluck easily. (I don't watch his games. I am only following what I read here) . But read below what he said : "I want to show those who think that I have my head elsewhere that I'm still here," he told reporters. "I have already said that I want to continue with Lyon. "I have shown that I'm fully committed. It's football that interests me, not money. I hope to have a strong season."-Lacazette, this weekend. http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4102/transfer-zone/2015/07/19/13710732/lacazette-tells-arsenal-and-liverpool-im-staying-at-lyon3. We should bear in mind that the players being assembled point to a direction which suggests we will be playing 4-3-3. This formation is not suited to all strikers. It`s strikers with build up abilities that can flourish in this formation. We are looking at a fluid three. Strikers like Suarez love this formation. Some great strikers may be a liability in this formation. Not that they will not score, but the entire attacking play will be dragging and games could be lost as a result. 4. We have to hunt for a striker who can play what the manager wants and is available. Here comes the problem. Many of the names being suggested are point men specialists. 5. I am of the opinion that Pedro could get the job done if bought. If we have two players who can get 20 goals, and a third person able to add 15 goals, we could win the title. In 2011/12 City won the title with non of their players reaching 25 goals. Van Persie and Rooney who scored highest won nothing. We are surely also going to get goals from Mata, Herrera, Fellaini , De Pay, etc. |

Lastly, if Agbonovbare wasn’t superb in the world cup qualifying games, Westerhof would not have allowed him kept all the games. He would have succumb to pressure to invite Rufai after one or two games.
But he kept in Ivory Coast. We lost to Siasia`s selfishness. He refused to pass to Yekini for a tap in goal, then he missed himself. That was how Amokachie was promoted to support striking role while Siasia went to the bench.
Agbonovbare kept in our 4-1 win against Algeria.
Agbonovbare kept in our 4-1 win against Ivory Coast.
Agbonovbare kept the most crucial game of Super Eagles in history where we needed to get a compulsory draw in cold night in Algiers against a team that was probably the most feared in world cup matches as regard to African countries. Why was Rufai not invited at this stage of life and death? |

naptu2: I need to go to sleep, so this must be my last post.
I'm not arguing about whether Agbonavbare was good or not. I know he was good. I watched him play for Rayo and he was superb. He originally got the nickname Agbonavbare from our game against Brazil at Seoul '88 (we lost 4-0), that's why I used the word revived.
However, he lost form during the qualifiers and this was why Westerhoff had to recall Rufai (despite the fact that he really didn't want to). I disagree. People loved Rufai and journalist never allowed the case to end. From 1989 they did not stop Writing how the best keeper in Africa was being excluded. So Westerhof was forced to recall him. Agbonovbare was good for us, but just that Rufai was so much loved and established in the whole continent. |

naptu2: Alloy Agu started the qualifiers (both Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers). He initially benched Agbonavbare (against South Africa, Congo, etc), but he suffered a shocking loss of form after his injury. I was usually scared when he was between the sticks. Agbonavbare took over for the second part of the qualifiers. He also suffered a loss of form. There were many close shaves and I remember that after a game in Lagos (I think it was against Ivory Coast, I can't remember for sure) fans demanded that he should be replaced. The newspapers revived the nickname "Agbonabasket". I remember my young neighbour saying that they should never field "that fat man" again. It was after the loss of form that Westerhoff finally decided to invite Rufai. NFA officials had been on Westerhoff's case that he should invite Rufai, but he had refused (especially after what happened in Cameroon in 1989). The only reason that Westerhoff gave in was because both Agbonavbare and Alloy had lost form. Agbonovbare kept the most important stage. Agu kept the walk over stage. Agbonovbare was called basket long before he took over from Agu. He was marvelous. Agu only lost his tooth, he met a Superior keeper in Agbonovbare and Agu bowed out. Remember the nations cup qualifier went side by side with world cup qualifier. westerhof used team B, mostly home based to prosecute the nations cup while team A was used to play the world cup games. Here Agbonovbare was chosen for the World Cup games. Agbonovbare made important and crucial saves. We didn't really miss Rufai. But when Agu kept, it was obvious he was a tenant between the post. |

naptu2: Rufai moved to Dragoons of Benin in the mid-1980s and dropped out of the Super Eagles after Maroc '88 as a result. Aloy Agu was our first choice keeper. Westerhof was also angry with Rufai because of what happened in Cameroon in 1989. The Minister brought Rufai to the camp after the deadline for players had passed. He wanted Westerhof to field Rufai, but Westerhoff said, "either he go or I go".
Alloy was our first choice keeper at Algeria '90 and Senegal '92, but Alloy had an injury when we played in a match against Ghana. He collided with the post and lost a tooth. He was never the same after that. Westerhof tried Agbonavbare, but he was awful, so he had no choice but to recall Rufai.
Ike was undoubtedly our best keeper before France '98. I had been a fan of his right from when he was Stores and I followed his career even when Shooting stole him from us, but Rufai was our second best keeper at the time. I agree with you that he was not as good as he was at Maroc '88 or USA '94, but he was good enough to be second choice. I also cried when Ikeh got injured because I knew that Abiodun Baruwa was not experienced enough to be second choice and I was vindicated when they had to recall Rufai (bypassing both Opara and Baruwa). Rufai should not have been dropped. Agbonovbare was not awful. How can a keeper who qualified us for our first world cup ever could be said to be awful. Qualifying matches were more difficult than the tournaments proper. How many goals did he even concede in all the games of the final Qualifying matches. If my memory serves me right, we lost 1-2 in Ivory Coast, won 4-1 against Algeria and Ivory Coast respectively in Lagos. Drew 1-1 in Algiers to top the group and qualified. I saw Rufai in Maroc 88 and Henry Nwosu, Bright Omokaro and co. I knew all that story about Westrhof, the match in Cameroun, Allow Agu etc. But you were wrong about Agbonovbare. He benched Agu in our world cup Qualifying games. He did very greatly. Nice reflexes. But Rufai was a household name. A return of Rufai would always certainly guarantee he started. |

naptu2: Predrag Mijatovic. That was against Yugoslavia. Regarding Rufai, he (rightly) said that he was not in form for the World Cup. He was on his way to the Caribbeans for his holiday when he was recalled, which leads to my questions, (1) Why was he dropped in the first place (2) Why was he handed the first team shirt ahead of the others. Rufai had clearly past his best by 1998. You know too he did not participate in our world cup qualifier matches towards USA 94. The matches were kept by Wilfried Agnonovbare. Rufai was lucky to be recalled into the team at his final stage of his career. So, after USA 94 it was obvious Rufai was done with Super Eagles. Ike Shoronmu was obvioulsy our best keeper in 1997 and 1998 while Biodun was rated very high with his great form in 3SC. Local journalist wrote and promoted Biodun. With these two guys, Rufai's time in Super Eagles was over. Unfortunately news came that Shoronmu was injured. I almost cried. Then Biodun was thought to be up to the task until his nervousness exposed him and he missed clearing a back pass. That was why Rufai was recalled. At least he wouldnt have the stage fright of unexposed Biodun Baruwa and Opara. |

naptu2:
Firstly, please point out where I said he was good (or where I said that he was bad).
Secondly, your ability to perform is not the only thing that determines whether you play in the Super Eagles or not. Let's take your example, why was Peter Rufai dropped from the team before France '98 and then recalled and made first choice keeper when Ike got injured? What happened to the 2nd and 3rd choice keepers? Why were Willy Opara and Abiodun Baruwa picked ahead of Rufai?
We can also use the Finidi controversy that occurred before Atlanta '96. How come Finidi did not play at the Olympics? Biodun Baruwa was promoted to first choice but he missed kicking out a back pass to him which rolled into the net for our own goal in a friendly match. His nervousness was too glaring. The whole country called for him to be dropped and that paved way for Rufai to return. Let's say it was clear the local keepers couldn't be relied on. Funny enough, Rufai didnt have a good world cup in my view. He was past his best. We missed Ike and Dosu. |

Emmanuel Babayaro was also a reserve keeper in Japan 93 U17 world cup which Nigeria won. Celestine Babayaro, Kanu Nwankwo and skipper Wilson Oruma were in the team.
Emma kept the 3rd group game.

coogar: but SAF already said the substitutions were because rooney was poor. he said in his book there's no way in hell he would substitute a fit & firing rooney - and whoscored backed SAF up when they rated rooney the poorest outfield player against west ham. Not all the substitutions were justifiable. It also happened that in some games Rooney got us late winners, I think that was around January and February. Just that I have wasted so much time today. So why are you trying to deny the truth here? The only reasonable fact up there is his "wing" position vs Madrid. The midfield excuse is a lie told by Rooney to deny the obvious fact that he wasn't favored like Persie again!! Rooney has been played in the midfield for over 8 seasons, why didn't he complain all those while? After Kagawa was gone and we were even playing 4-1-4-1 |

you don't use logic in your argument. He didnt score in the first part of the season and it was reported his national team coach criticized his too much defence cautiousness, so when he focused more in attack in second half of the season and got 11 goals from same position including good assists, he was happy. 2. Rooney was playing in the number 10 behind RVP.
3. Asked about the difference in his form from last season and now, Rooney said: "Sometimes it happens. I didn't feel I got a consistent run of games up front. I actually felt when I played midfield I did OK but I didn't want to play there. I've had no problem in the past playing out of position but I felt I deserved the right to play in my position and that wasn't happening. "I think naturally I was a bit disappointed and maybe that affected some of the games I played. I can go and play in midfield. Maybe when I'm a bit older, losing my legs a bit, I can go back there. I don't mean I only want to play centre-forward but one of two [in attack]." He added: "David Moyes has come in and he's playing me up front and I'm enjoying it. 3a) In interview above, Rooney said he didnt feel he got consistent run of games up front in 2012/13. Rooney did not play number 9. So it meant he referred to number 10

i have the facts that many UK journalists aren't even privy to. these were the passes rooney received against west ham - he was mostly in the central role. kagawa's received passes were geared towards the left channel. facts are different from opinions, my friend.
argue with opta images... Charts can be misleading. So now you say Rooney wanted to partner Van Persie and not displace him from the number 9? This shit alone is a victory to me. sinizia: LOL. Elamps will never concede defeat in this argument.
First he said Rooney made a mistake mistaking upfront (10) for 9. He then backed it up with Gaal's English/amnesia.
Then he said Rooney played in Midfield against WH before "dashing" you the point.
Then he said a REPUTABLE newspaper's reporter misplaced Rooney's words even when Rooney never countered the guy. All i see are excuses but Elamps will never agree.
Rooney has been played out of position for countless seasons, earning him the title of being a "team player", even in Moyes' season, i remember 2 games he played as a DM. Now because of just because of 3 games out of position he wants out? Who's fooling who? We know the truth, just let the argument end, Elamps would never agree. This is another report stating Rooney did not play 10 against West Ham. Now it coming out the interview Coogar submitted was given in October 2013 when Rooney was happy playing one of the two forwards positions under Moyes - number 10. The problem is Coogar is relying on formation charts and I am relying on my memory. ..... ........ Although Rooney was not played in midfield extensively, there appeared to be no doubt in his mind this week that playing there had had a direct impact on his form. He was deployed on the right of the three behind Robin van Persie in United's Champions League last 16 tie away to Real Madrid on 13 February, and famously left out for the home return. Away at Stoke on 14 April he was played as a central midfielder and three days later, away to West Ham, he found himself deployed on the left of the attacking three. He was also regularly substituted. Asked about the difference in his form from last season and now, Rooney said: "Sometimes it happens. I didn't feel I got a consistent run of games up front. I actually felt when I played midfield I did OK but I didn't want to play there. SAF was only talking about giggsy's penalty against fulham. RVP wasn't on the pitch & SAF was commenting on giggsy's goal that giggsy is one of the best penalty takers in the squad.
your lies keep expanding but i have found the more comprehensive interview.
rooney:
elampiro - i dare you to twist this interview that rooney meant he wanted to play in the hole. this is what happens when you don't give up on an argument you have lost - you push people into doing more research and airing you out.
the interview clearly means rooney wanted 4-4-2 formation like he did in 11/12 but SAF opted for 4-2-3-1 formation when RVP arrived. the hole is CAM(central attacking midfielder). 4-4-2 makes rooney a pure centre forward. if you dispute this once again then you should never be taken serious.
case dismissed! Witches don visit Coogar for UK today. Your Rooney's quote : I don’t mean I only want to play centre-forward but [as] one of the two up front. " ....................... Rooney said he wanted to play as one of the two upfront. Meaning as number 10, which is one of the two upfront. 9 and 10 are the two positions up front. RVP was permanently number 9. Number 10 was the position Rooney played until February without issues or complaints or rotation. Then SAF started rotation in February. And Rooney felt uncomfortable. Under Moyes. Rooney became happy playing number 10 behind RVP. His own position at Man United. |

coogar: rooney is the one more likely to be saving face. SAF's interview was on the 28th of january. rooney came out 4 days later to say it was his decision to hand over the duties.
SAF has always been a ruthless manager - his records speak for itself. when rooney suggested united should sign ozil in 2010, SAF walked him out of his office immediately.
SAF was the one that took rooney off penalty duties. rooney does not have a say in such matters. the manager decides who takes penalties......just like LVG passed the baton from RVP to mata last season!
he brought a link that defeated his own argument. he said the writer assumed like us that rooney meant CF position when it should be in the hole.
his argument that rooney was taken out of his position didn't even hold up. rooney played 25 times out of the 27 league apps in the hole - so why was he angry if the hole was his preferred position?
elampiro loves distorting facts! How? Rooney was specific that it was midfield. RVP's position was never the battle. Rooney didnt even 'drag' it with RVP, Chicharito and Welbeck under Moyes. Rooney played out of position, number 10, in February, March and April was the issue. |
