I don't even get what you're driving at. But how can you say TAI was pop all through. Or what do you mean by pop?
E get as he dey do am grin grin

Rhymstein:
@genu
Crowd mentality n talk abt it na concious themes na.i didnt add conciousness.

Money can pass for story telling n da vinci had lots of dat

Is it d moral subject or d mixture of underground and mainstream sound u r arguing?
STFU about this Moral B.S . . . it's not in a rapper's job description to tell you to be conscious.
Common is conscious, does that put him in anyone's top ten list??

@eldee
The difference btw talk abt it n Da Vinci Mode is the latter didnt ve a track like Teaser,It amalgamates d underground sound and dat of d mainstream. They was soul,pop,reggae,funk influenced tracks wit the wordplay n metas stil present,n moral teachings n kicking knowledge.Talk abt it was pop all true.Even illegal muzik
I've told you guys before . . . once it's mainstream, it's no more underground.
The rules of the sects in rock, hiphop and soul are quite strict.

You really wanna talk about how eclectic an album is??
That said Reggae - Teaser, Pop - Safe, Soul/Gospel - Jehovah, Funk/80s Hiphop -  Crowd Mentality, Fuji - Anoti, Dancehall - Blaze

Modenine doesn't touch M.I in diversity of musical influences. Just becase he didn't sample don't mean ish . . . his creativity trumps anyone else in Nigeria bar none.
I listened to a song DBR gave me . . . it was rock song about a pro. . . who does that??

Moral teachings?? It's Sunday, some churches are still open, go to church to hear that . . . besides did you miss Talk About It, Crowd Mentality and Fast Money Fast Cars??

Or do you wanna say he didn't take the wordplay, multies, metaphors to everyone and let me email you a Tyson upper cut?? grin grin

M.I aint bad bruv.

If i say mode9 is better,it doesnt add anything to mode physically n vice versa,they aint in any competition,both r doing music dat inspired them n r gud at it.As mode said 'a gud rap doesnt have to contain complex lyrics'

With da vinci mode,mode tuk lyricism to pop listeners,it wld inspire upcoming rappers n new listeners,cos u could dance and listen to punchlines,metaphors,wordplay n learn at the same time,A very Funky album
And what did Talk About It and Illegal Music do??

@Krayola

You know most people are still too scared to admit that the toughest 'gangsta rappers' are fakers.
I don't want to cause another riot so I won't drop names. . . truth is, the realest gangstas don't try to be gangsta.

@A-40
What makes him dope is the fact that he doesn't need to try hard to do anything. . . he sounds deep without trying to be Elijah Mohammed, and he sounds gangsta without trying to be John Gotti. . . listening to him speak, it's a kind of intelligence you either have or you don't, it adapts to any situation. . . you don't learn it on the streets or in class, it's abinibi grin grin
Even watching his interviews, I place him with the Obamas and Wole Soyinkas, when he puts that on a mic . . . it's amazing.

The reason it was that good was because he thought it was going to be his last album. . .

You just gave me another hard assignment to take care of.
I've listened to the album twice today . . . I don't know what ones to pick in my top 5. grin grin

No one touches him when it comes to quotables. . .
Justify My Thug was just crazy . . .'if you shoot my dawg, Ima kill your cat', the beauty is it's simplicity grin grin

Moment of Clarity had 'I can't help the poor if I'm one of them, so I got rich and gave back to me, it's the win-win' grin grin

Like he said in I Just Wanna Rock . . .'No biggie, he's the best now'  cheesy cheesy

cabali:
You dont have to come to CTU to kill Chloe. The writers can bring something up and she decides to loose her life just to, for instance switch the power on and getting electrocuted at the same time.

Chloe will die doesnt mean it has to be by terrorists.

Don't you think Dana can kill chloe in the premises even?
Believe me, it's 24 . . . if she has to die, it has to die in an overly dramatic way.
Apart from David Palmer, all other Bauer related deaths have been extremely dramatic.

Dana killing Chloe will be too weak for the storyline. . .I think Renee is more likely to take on terrorists on her own.

cabali:
Either Renee or chloe. more of Chloe because it will hurt a lot especialy now that they have brought her under the spotlight at different moments.
I have to reconsider bout Chloe . . . she's not a field-agent.
To kill her you'll have to come into the CTU like in Season 5.

I know Renee will still do another stupid thing like going to search for Jack.
That was a stupid move, I tot that was the end for her when she did it.

Nah Moment of Clarity barely scratches top 5

Encore
What More Can I Say?
December 4th
Allure
99 Problems

Heck it doesn't even make top 5
Damn . . . I had to listen to the album again to see how wrong I was.
Maybe it's just because I'm addicted to the I Just Died (In Your Arms) version . . . but come on, that song has two of his most quoted bars of all time.

I'll pick Allure and 99 Problems before What More Can I say.

Cus me I'm the moon in the room full of stars

Iceberg Slim - Over (Remix)

I think we need to make Geography compulsory for Nigerian rappers.
First Modenine thinks planets are bigger than stars, now Iceberg Slim thinks the Moon is bigger . . .

Music/Radio › Re: Which Artistes Inspire You? by eldee(m): 12:49pm On Mar 27, 2010
K'naan - Grew up in Somalia's civil war, learnt English from hiphop, came out and publicly questioned the essence of gangsta rap . . .

Jay-Z - When the lyricist behind gangsta album 'Reasonable Doubt' comes out to say 'I'm all about progression, murderers should be arrested' . . . risking losing his whole fanbase, it inspires me. Doesn't try to sound 'deep' but his intelligence catches you.

Ray Charles - Black in racist America, still fought racism in his own way, was blind but his mastery of music is still an influence to artistes today.

MJ - He just defined my generation. If music is truly a universal language, MJ understood it. Some people learnt how to say 'beat it' before 'hi'.

Fela - He's the one person that reminds me that I have to fight against any type of oppression, even the hidden ones. Not once did he compromise good music to send this message. . . and he was a P.I.M.P
