So you wouldn't speak up if you think a woman on this forum was wrongfully left out of something, just because the mod is guy  huh  undecided

Okay, maybe this is not the right place to talk about women rights and all that, but tkb knows what I'm talking about!   wink
This is not because the Admin is a guy . . . this is clearly based on merit.
Even the chics on this forum have clearly agreed with TKB's list many times outside this thread.
If you don't see the world as a war between men and women, it won't be hard to understand this.

It's your opinion, his list might be wrong, but don't use feminism as an excuse . . . use merit.
Putting feminism into trivial matters like this is lame. . .
That's just what I wanted to point out.

Ujujoan:
So you think canvassing for gender equality is 'trivialising feminism'  huh
Canvassing for gender equality in list of forum members, number of women in music videos and B.S like this is unconscious drive towards feminism look like a farce.
What next you'll talk of the glass ceiling in the number of women buying Eminem albums?? or the gender discrimination in the relatively low number of women watching football on TV??

I see where feminists are coming from . . . but stuff like this is disrespectful to the Alice Walkers of this world.

oyb:
see me see trouble

we forgot south africans mpele, rsa
african americans - who can forget mandingo
freaks - sistawomen
unhappy wives - leila

angry angry angry

jarus aka maurice iwu  angry cheesy
Infact what of the age representation . . . everyone on that list is either in their 20s or 30s . . . what of the over-60s??
What of the teenagers??  grin grin

Infact, we want a tribunal hearing grin grin

forget feminism

this list is marginalizing

we expect a list that includes legends from the three major tribes in nigeria, from muslims , christians and traditional worshippers ( not to atheists!  cheesy)
NIDs, NINs, niger deltans whose gas powers phcn that nl runs on,

did i miss anyone
Infact I was about to mention the fact that is pure racial discrimination.
Racism on Nairaland.

Everybody on that list is black!!!! grin grin grin

What of the White, Asian, Bi-racial, Australian and European people on Nairaland?? grin grin grin
Are you going to join me in the protests?? cheesy cheesy

@Jarus

I forgot to add . . . nice job you've done with this and the Poster of The Year Awards.
It musta taken shitloads of hardwork.

Ujujoan:
I just find it very difficult to beleive that out of 10 best NLer, he could only come up with one female (abi?)! That's just typical of NL guys, they think they are all better than us!  angry  angry

I can tick off 10 ladies on NL who are much better than all those alpha-males he came up with!  angry  angry  angry   tongue
One thing you guys don't understand is that comments like this trivialise feminism.
Bringing gender into a list of top NLers is as lame as the word goes.

If you think you have a better list, put it up . . . it's a free world, but please stop trivialising feminism . . . it's disrespectful.

What's gender got to do with this??

Now this??

@tkb
Oya . . . redistribute your list . . . 4 men, 4 women and two hermaphrodites grin grin grin

I said that already . . . I think Jarus did an incredible job with that.
But I just had to put in my own honourable mentions like you did, it'll be unfair to people like Sienna if I didn't mention their names.

@Sam Milla
Nah . . . that list is quite good.

Jarus is only one man. Every person that gave him tips on usernames before the list was completed was put into consideration.
There are over 500k members on NL getting a top 50 without leaving out some names is pretty much impossible for one person to do.
I'm not doubting the credibility, I'm just pointing out a minor flaw.

The list is near-perfect in my own opinion.
Nairaland General › Re: 50 Men and Women That Moved Nairaland: 2005-2010 by eldee(m): 2:35pm On Mar 29, 2010
@TKB

Nah . . . there's no way I can be in the Top 50 list.
I'm not even in the Sports Section top 100.  cheesy cheesy

Thanks for the mention anyways . . .

@Jarus
I do agree with most names on your list
Not trying to be controversial but I think your list kinda ignores the main people on the Entertainment Sections bar Sports.

An example . . . Lalaboi is the only person with Music as his main base.
Mohawkchic's influence in the Fashion Section is swept aside, Amakaone on Food, Javalove and Bamsyle on Music, Eveseh ruled Forum Games, Gabry owned Jokes and Events . . .

This is skewed towards the Politics, Sports and Romance Sections . . .

That said, they're the most important sections on Nairaland . . . but then Nairaland won't be Nairaland without these one-man strongholds in the less-popular sections.

I very much doubt folks around here really know Big L when he was alive. I think my favourite track was "Ebonics" Kai, that guy really "break it down" for that track.

Also his Post Humus collaboration with Tupac was blazing. It is hard to say was was better on that particular track.

And the 'gangstas' that live in 90210 and still claim to clap people. . . and those ones that act in comedies and come out in the next song to say they still bodied sumone yesterday?? grin grin

I you really wanna enjoy this song . . . reduce the volume and listen to just Asha's voice.
The instruments are way too loud, it's almost annoying.

They cramp her voice, I even noticed it in her her album.

Come on guys . . . I like Lupe too, but he's not a Top Ten guy.
He's got the scientisick (nice word from Mailmalc . . .lol) part figured out, but there's much more to hiphop than that.

He's a great artiste though . . . you gotta give that to him.

the kinda hiphop dats wot i mean.almost all beats in dat album.i can call mode's whut u want pop bt i cant say black rap messiah is.TAI was pop influenced.
@eldee
Teaser was dancehall abeg

And sampling is one reason i didnt feel dat album.Yes

U cant call black rap messiah,muzik lives,top eleven and okokomaiko mainstream cuts

Rock?mode already did that on EPU.not like you was d track

Supersonic,so bionic,u can get on it,please,if i start teachn a js1 student multies,he wld do better dan dat

Blaze dancehall? Then so as rhyme tyte

Soul to keep na wetin mr eldee? Na soul+gospel too

I cld stil feel dat boom bap in da vinci bros

And wait,wats d point arguin self?
Me i cant argue wit mr eldee because,na 10pages u go see for this thread within 1hr

Common join my list.am a fan of concious rap o
If you don't wanna argue don't talk B.S like . . . Da Vinci Mode took wordplay to the people but M.I didn't.
Your argument is flying everywhere . . . first you said Talk About It was 'all pop' now you say, oh yeah, Modenine did the same thing.
Get your thoughts right before coming online abeg.

Dude you don't need to sample to be eclectic . . . that's why I don't like arguing with most Modenine fans, y'all see the way he does things and think 'Modenine does it like this, so it's the Holy Grail'

Anoti had the craziest wordplay + multies mix on any Nigerian album . . . he did a whole verse with everything startin with M.I. And you try to diss that?? Pass the weed to Tavarez.

M.I did the whole eclectic thing first . . . as I said, the day Mode's delivery and musical creativity touches M.I, I'll sell my music library and donate the money to the Taliban.
