michelin89:How can you say D'banj doesn't make good music?? Have you ever tried listening to his beats?? Abeg, dem dey find you for Romance Section. ![]() |
Alcohol doesn't solve any problems. . .but then again. . .neither does milk. ![]() |
Dbanj has the touch!!! Everything he does just oozes class. I dunno why he kissed Genevieve though . . . he'll prolly get banned by those publicity-hungry Censors' Board. But I like the African thing he manages to put in all his songs, flying the flag and still making good music. Can't wait for the next album. |
One thing is clear. . . . .He flows better than Mode-9. Da Grin knows just when to apply his rhymes and his rhyme patterns are world-class.
Hehe . . . what does Modenine have to do with this?? ![]() Dagrin's flow was top-notch though, especially with the way he always need to join series of Yoruba words to do a multie. It's easier with English that has a limitless vocabulary . . . but with Yoruba, it's all about improvising. |
eldee Kelly's verse rips M.I apart jare ![]() M.I shouldnt av replied in the first place. . . since he did, he shoulda done better than this IMO
The only difference between the two, Kelly was direct . . . c'est fini. Come on, we all know Kelly Rowland did well for a singer, but those lines you posted are weak. 'Before you ask Keke I'm the chosen one' . . . haba!!! ![]() |
hermosa:Just corrected a few of the lines . . . nice work though. I'd been looking for the lyrics for ages. |
baba oro
Nah that one you see?? You no see 'Coming at me is the only way that you’ll ever approach a star'?? ![]() If you nor get enough money to pay for space shuttle go space, make you just diss M.I ![]() |
Are you guys being serious . . . come on, M.I has graduated from face-me face you disses jare. At a Jay-Z status, you stop doing that even Modenine doesn't do them ones any more. Now how can you guys be counting 'you're short I'm the ladder to the top as disses'. Na wa ooh . . . so I can go make a diss song now and drop Primary 5 yabbing and y'all will rate me?? Although I don't respect M.I for going on to diss after stating it clearly that you're not taking her serious, but Kelly Rowland was wack on that track abeg. The only thing she got right was delivery and we know 10 of her won't touch M.I in that aspect. |
sum peepd still doubt his lyrical prowess? it amazes me
Some people cannot 'identify' with M.I as a rapper. ![]() |
@Rhymestein Why you come dey give me your Wale Adenuga Production for here?? Na me send you make you go dey play ball for streets when you suppose dey go school?? ![]() M.I was already a star for two years before coming to Benin . . . Asawana go light you if you lie for there. Half the songs on Talk About it were already released in his first album and everyone in Benin knew them. But still he waited two years before stepping into Benin . . . FACT!!! Modenine was never in Benin before 2006, he already won two Channel O Awards before stepping into Benin. Dagrin had only one really popular album, according to my own sources (cousins and friends in Benin), he was already up there for a rapper in Benin. He obviously would have touched there if he hadn't died so early. Now, you bringing tribalism into this is just daft . . . you chatting bollocks and trying to use tribalism to save your face. |
mahal:Chei!!! Was it that good?? 18:00 Rule. |
@Rhymestein Exactly . . . when did Crowd Mentality become a radio hit?? M.I toured Africa before he reached Benin . . . he was in Tanzania and Kenya with a whole year of banging hits before that. Does that mean he wasn't popular in Benin?? I bin think say you go even lie about Modenine own sef, na that trap I bin set for you. Dagrin released C.E.O in 2009, to say he wasn't popular when I know a lot of people in Benin that were banging his jams is still a big surprise. Anyways, you've still not disproved what my guys in Benin said about the Owo Ati Swagger guy being popular in Benin. You don't know this but I'm half Edo, so all this tribal B.S wey you dey pull na stunt. |
@hax I'm not going to let this lead into one of those long topics where the basis of the whole debate is lost. Some rappers don't like getting owned on tracks, J.Cole has publicly come out to say that he wouldn't let himself get murked, LL Cool J famously rewrote his verse in order not to get murked on a track, Nas used Renegade as his one of the few punchlines on Ether . . . people talk about them, I don't know what exactly you're getting at. Even songs like Run This Town where all three verses were self-service, everyone came out to say Kanye killed it. Most collaborations are friendly battles, I don't care if you don't see it like that, most rappers do, most fans do, most critics do too. Nine times out of ten most rappers would rather they beat the Eminems and J. Coles on tracks, and nine times of of ten it turns out to be a better song, but that doesn't remove the fact that you got owned on that track. Nigeria beating Brazil in 96 doesn't make us better than them, but does that mean it won't be discussed at length?? You're just making a big thing out of sumn you can't change . . . You justifying the fact that you talked about A Star is Born is hilarious in itself, it's almost like you're sorry for doing it . . . I'm not pissed with you son. If Drake kills J. Cole on that track, it will always be brought up anytime someone brings up the topic of who's better. Each time Nas' compared to anyone, people always bring up The Firm. |
obinna5000:I'm not sure but I think Brad Pitt has one . . . Will Smith has just been a victim of bad timing of his best movies. I remember seeing Forest Whitaker(Last King of Scotland), Leo Di Caprio(I think for Blood Diamonds or sum other movie), and Will Smith on his Pursuit of Happiness year and I was like 'WOW!!! Even I wouldn't give it to you man'. I really don't get Johnny Depp, I don't understand . . . if Sweeny Todd and Jack Sparrow don't get you an Oscar . . . nothing else will, promise. |
Naivety played a major role in the first 2 years. Right now, she knows better so it's going to be a tad difficult for her to keep living on 10 quid per month.
Exactly . . . the only reason she's complaining now is because she got smart. It'll be much more sensible to turn that naivety into wisdom not smartness.
How strong is the mum? Forcing one's daughter to work overtime = strength?
Her mum is strong, she has emotional/mental control plus the added advantage of having access to a permanent stay.Look at the transcript . . . she is still not tough enough to challenge her mum yet, her doing it now will only result in a case of the said girl going back to beg after two weeks. |
Eldee, you are WICKED!!! Wait two more years? Howwwwwwwwwww?
The same way she did it for the first two years. The only factors that have changed since then is time, so why can't she continue?? It's a chess game, she's obviously not as strong as her mum, so she needs to back down. Once she's a dependant . . . she'll have a voice and her mum will know she has to chill. Then she can even threaten a legal battle against her mum if she wants to reclaim all what she gave her in the past if she wants. |
Pweety4me:Hehehe . . . ![]() |
If she has endured this for two years, she might as well endure it for another two years and get her passport. It's not like she's not being fed or sumn, all she needs to do is to get her passport and fight back. This is more about being smart than anything else . . . let her see it as an investment into her thing. Besides the whole rights thing is not as easy as we think it is, at the end of the day, she could deprive herself of some things for the common good, instead of raising dust that's settled for two years. I'd advice her to just chill till her status is settled before taking any steps, because a mum this evil will prolly have a way to battle with her if push comes to shove. |
Hmn hmn hmn with your sexy self Go to my hotel and UnCloth yourself And after we have s*x, don't stress yourself Cus I'll still respect you if you respect yourself |
lalaboi:I am the e-bay champion . . . in one day, I won three items. Don't try me maynne. ![]()
ah! kpele oo
Hey . . . how's you?? ![]() |
I lost another bid, this is just wrong.!!! |
#
Why you dey laugh my guy now?? Saucekid's last seven albums sold plastic. The two before that sold wood. . . . All classics ![]() Yo, I need Jesse's album . . . I know you can arrange it for me abeg. |
I have an opinion, Saucekid is better than 2face . . . all Saucekid's albums have been classics. ![]() |
Mobinga:WOW!!! I'll take that as a compliment. ![]() |
chiogo:Hehehe . . . you actually think I take you serious?? More deluded than I thought. ![]() You, kay2900 and hax said share the same point of view, compare my replies to both of you Anywayz . . . there are different traits of a groupie in my definition, pick the one that best suits you. |
@hax You're making it sound like it's a crime to be trashed on a track. I don't need a hiphop history lesson to tell me that being with a good rapper inspires you. I did mention Rick Ross holding his ground against Nas didn't I?? Now if you're going to feature a rapper like Eminem on a track, you know it's going to make the song better, but you also know there's a chance that you'll get outshined on the song . . . some people are ready to take the risk, cool. You yourself talked about J.Cole tearing Jay-Z apart on A Star is Born, isn't Blueprint III still the biggest rap album of last year?? Stop making a mountain out of a molehill abeg, people get murked on songs, it's talked about for ages, but it doesn't take anything away from anyone, but to say we need to stop discussing it is plain B.S. Collabo battles are among the most heavily discussed topics in hiphop, it takes more than you to take it away. Now if Drake does a collabo with J. Cole, he will most likely get trashed, and that might be the end of all the talk about who's better . . . and it will most definitely be discussed, there's nothing wrong with that. |
abdurrazaq:Yeah . . . semid made a reference to Terry killing Dagrin on the track so I quoted his lines.
that was Gino! Every1 was ill abeg jor, wondern if the song 4 an award at hhwa!
Never knew. . . |
Rhymstein:Because he's the extreme opposite in terms of what the poster wanted emphasize. |
arkinses:Omo nor be only you oh, sharp guys nor get time to wait till Christmas ![]() Na that time mumsy go come dey tell you say she wan help you 'keep am'. One thing I'm sure of is that Dagrin proved that it's possible to do be up there even with the language barrier. Now that people know it's possible, they'll keep trying till we finally see someone even better. |
arkinses:Even Jay-Z never boast reach that level before . . . me I remember using broom to get money out of my kolo. ![]() But Dagrin kolo na next level |
