I hope governor Otti keeps to his promise to fix this road.The last time I went to Abia state I almost cried because of the journey from Owerri airport to Abia state.

First off I was so scared Owerri airport was located inside a serious village ,then the journey commenced to Abia on very bad road.

That Owerri - Owerrinta is a federal road, I think. It has most of it’s length in Imo state and it has to be an understanding between the two state governors.

By the way, Owerri airport is not inside “a serious village”. It is strategically positioned, has been there for years and very well developed.

Constituency projects are projects that are nominated by legislators within
their constituency that the executive, that is the president and his team then act on.
No Kobo is paid to any senator.

if you nominate that some of the communities in your constituency needs a transformer, the executive
may see to it that such transformers are bought and installed as your constituency projects.
But you won't receive a dime for it, the project will be executed by the appropriate federal ministry(ministry of power in this case).

Even if you heard it on TV, or read it in a newspaper that senators get money for constituency projects,
those deceiving you don't know better or they have something to gain from lying to you. Stop being deceived.

Using government allocated funds to carry out community development projects is not the same as "giving back to the society," it's just doing your job.
And doing that job for 2 days in a 4yr tenure should not be worthy of praise.
Nigerians should learn to demand higher standards from their elected politicians. And until we start seeing them as our employees and not our masters, this may never happen.

It’s so sad that leaders make the people think that way. Legislators receive humongous allocations in the name of constituency funds and yet make the citizens believe that the funds are from their personal purses. Until citizens can understand how proper societies are run and then make their leaders accountable, they will continue to suffer in the hands of their horrible leaders.
