In kogi election results were written by inec even before the election is conducted in kogi central and part kogi west after getting payment from yahaya bello..its a known fact everybody know.

You can't blame Bello..after the mess he caused in kogi he need somebody to help cover his ass...and a puppet he can use to continue to get free access to kogi treasury..

All in all i pity kogi people if the criminals have their way at the end
Don’t mind the fellow. He termed Osuya Chidoka’s exposition as “an academic tabulation of personal opinion of an extern regarding the elections held in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi on November 11, 2023”.

I was looking out for a better argument matched with some facts and figures as evidence that Chidoka’s view was wrong, but it did not happen.

Again, he seemed to have quickly jumped to Mae his remarks without understanding what Chidoka was letting the public know. Chidoka’s comment was unbiased.

His face gives him away.

Rather than repay the trust by paying them their profits, he chose the inglorious path or repaying them with pocketing the money.

Now he will both return the money and serve a prison term.

When youths complain of bad governance, this one too will complain, even knowing that he is crooked. What a shame.

I highly doubt this is even true.

In order to arrive at this conclusion, he would have to take census of the total number of first class graduates in every branch of every denomination, including Deeper Life, Christ Embassy, RCCG, Winners etc. Not just in Lagos alone but in all the 36 states and FCT. Not just the pentecostals alone but also Catholics, Baptists, Anglicans, Lutherans etc.

I don't think someone who's supposedly that educated should be making such broad statements without facts to back them up.

The only issue that matters to me is the case between Utomi and Amosun. No more no less. Utomi stated his case, Amosun rebutted. Case closed. You can call me armchair whatever, I am not egoistic like Utomi. In Nigeria, we are too quick to call someone an expert even in the field that the person did not have any knowledge of. I don’t know either of them to hold brief for either one,

Any other discussion on Amosun, Daniel, the Chinese company, is irrelevant to me. I don’t have any regard for the dishonorable Honorables that worshipped whites and are been used to siphon money from our collective commonwealth as long as they get their percentage.

Agree with you on the above.

Disagreed with you on the words “armchair professor”.

The interchange between Utomi and Amosun is there for public interest. Still, read Amosun’s response when the matter came up and you”ll question why a governor would say that he made an signing off a contract of that value. You’d wonder if he would have been nonchalant if the money belonged to him. You’d also wonder if no bribe was exchanged.

PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi: Chinese Firm Not Only Victim Of Amosun, I Lost ₦‎100 Million by ElevationD: 10:49am On Aug 19, 2024
Timmi:
Oga ElevationD, I am not talking of his educational credentials. I have my PhD in Engineering at age 22, was a full tenured professor in US university before 30-yrs old. And I resigned early (from a tenured position, I hope you know what that meant)at 45 to start my own engineering consulting firm in the US many years ago.

All his appointments that you mentioned are political appointments. The man was part of the management team of a car assembly plant in Nigeria and he and his team ran the company down.

He is class conscious and he think he is an expert in all things and needs to be regarded as such. I have no problem with that but when he now talks about his experience in Ogun State as if he is a victim and Omosun came and refuted his allegations and lies. I posted it intentionally because I first read his piece, knowing his antecedent, I know he is economical with the truth.

What both the ex-governors said was in respect to the Chinese company and not Utomi. Let Utomi respond to Amosun. Or has he appointed you as his mouthpiece?
You called him an “armchair professor”! Should we call you an “armchair Engineer”, having not had any personal encounter with you, allowing us to know you? Sure, the Igbesa issue brought up the matter with Utomi.

Where were you in 1983 when Buhari/IBB introduced their economic policies that suffocated the country? Where you there when IBB stopped the open general import license regime at the CBN and introduced his obnoxious import license allocation regime that started troubling the economy? Where were you when IBB devalued the naira in 1986 using some funny excuses. Where were you when IBB introduced SAP? Or are you not aware that IBB’s policies destroyed many industries and set the country back. What happened to companies like PAN? How did CFAO, Leyland and Steyr run out of business? Those were automobiles and truck companies. What happened to the textile mills which cost hindered of thousands of job losses with IBB? How did you expect Volkswagen to survive when even the Germans, seeing SAP, read the handwriting on the wall and walked away? Can you give evidence of how Utomi and the board ran Volkswagen aground? You can also tell us how PAN and the others stopped production.

I wonder how you did not take your time to read Amosun’s version of the story with clear understanding. Or do you prefer to be one sided? Amosun simply gave himself away as vindictive and pretentious.

If Utomi was not a victim of negative financial transaction, why did he complain and why did Amosun respond? Why did he not single out Gbenga Daniels? Utomi talked about his interest there and how it went wrong with Amosun. Once again read Amosun’s comment about the entire Igbesa issue and find that he carelessly admitted his vindictiveness against Gbenga Daniels. That’s the same person who because of politics, labeled Gbenga Daniels an Isoko man from Delta state.

I am not holding brief for Utomi, but perhaps you holding brief for Amosun.
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi: Chinese Firm Not Only Victim Of Amosun, I Lost ₦‎100 Million by ElevationD: 10:00pm On Aug 18, 2024
Timmi:
I know this class conscious arm chair professor is economical with the truth.

See Amosun’s right of reply and balance it up.

In a reaction to Utomi’s allegations, Amosun, on Sunday, according to The Niche, narrated that before he came into office on May 29, 2011, the Ogun State House of Assembly had blacklisted Utomi.

Amosun said, “Before I came into office, the Ogun State House of Assembly had passed a persona non grata on Utomi, and put its resolution in the state’s black book.

“So, I was curious when I became governor and called Utomi to ask what the issue was. This was entirely at my discretion and not because he reached out to me. But I reckoned that as one with some degree of name recognition, that should not be, and I wanted to know what happened.

“He, however, told me, amongst other things, that there was an ongoing construction in an Ogun State property that had become controversial.”

Amosun stated that he sent his team for an assessment of the land and that after the necessary evaluation, the team concluded that the land was valued at N50 million at most, which was against Utomi’s claim of N200m.

“I immediately raised a team for verification and to know what to do. The team I sent said the land was inappropriate because the said construction was being done in the car park of the Ogun property on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Road in Lagos State. My team then suggested somewhere else.

“But he didn’t want another place because, according to him, the place in question gave more visibility. After our in-house assessment, my team concluded he could not have spent more than N35m or at most, N50m on the construction as of then. At that point, I decided to visit myself.

“In addition, it was discovered that the so-called work done was hurriedly executed in the wake of the realisation that another political party had won the governorship election and would take over the reins of leadership in the state,” the ex-governor said,

Amosun recalled that he decided to give Utomi N100m to avoid the latter’s “investment in the state” going to waste,

“It was also obvious that what was being attempted was a move at ambushing the state government under my watch and presenting us with a Fait Accompli, a situation that would have generated a controversy about the demolition of an ongoing project.

“Just so that his investment in the state would not go to waste, I committed to making a refund of N100 million as against his claim of N200 million. He pressured me ceaselessly to pay him N200 million, but I did not yield,” he added.

Amosun noted that while Utomi tried to “sway” him by using “his Centre for Value in Leadership, CVL, through the instrumentality of an Award,” he rejected the offer.

He added, “At first, it all looked curious that I’d just been in office for about two years, and here I was being given an award, so I rejected it.

“But he insisted that I honour his CVL Solutions Conference Series with my presence, which I did, and I was given a plaque for participating. However, I did not change my position on the refund of N100m as against his N200m claim.

“A few years later, he complained to some people with the sole intent to malign me. When I heard, I called to tell him off because his problem was purely one of entitlement mentality. He even boasted, asking me: ‘Do you know who I am?’ Imagine! But I ignored him because I immediately saw through his true colour. In my book, it’s one law for everyone, no matter who you are.”

The ex-governor noted that Utomi “is not different from Zhongfu International Investment FXE. He knows he can not lay claims to any lawful damage done to his investment. All he has tried to do is a ‘me too’, which is very disgraceful.”
“Armchair Professor”? Read the below:

Patrick Utomi was born in Kaduna. He is a descent of Igbuzo in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State. He had his primary education at St. Thomas, Kano 1960 - 1962; Our Lady of Fatima, Gusau 1962 - 1966; Christ the King College, Onitsha and Loyola College, Ibadan, finishing his secondary education at the age of 15. The entry age for university education was 17, so he enrolled at the Federal School of Arts and Science in the interim. He later got admission into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1973 to study Mass Communication. Patrick Utomi graduated from University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1977. He attended Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, USA, where he got his Ph.D. MPA, MA. He was appointed Professor of Social and Political Economy Environment of Business and Entrepreneurship at Lagos Business School in 2003. he has been a scholar-in-residence at the Harvard Business School and the American University in Washington, D.C.
Are you aware that he was appointed and served as an adviser to the late Shagari at the age of 28?

Oga, did you read Gbenga Daniel’s version of the story? Did you read Amosun’s admission of his fault for not doing due diligence on the trade Zone? If only you took your time, you’d see that Amosun, out of his political battles with Gbenga Daniels brought the state to disrepute. Amosun clearly was at fault for everything that went wrong.

Why must it always be “Tinubu orders”, “IGP orders”, “Chief of army orders”, etc. Are security agents not paid to carry out their assignments. Without the orders, they just stand aloof and watch things go wrong. I have never heard “Trump orders”, “Biden orders”, etc.

It is the job of the IGP to go after criminals, just like other security agencies. The duty of Tinubu/FG is to provide funding for operations without delay.

If security agencies cannot deal with such problems in the country, then there is a very big problem in the land.

Philip is not being reasonable. He should stop fighting Obaseki, allow the governorship go to another senatorial zone and reach a deal with the PDP candidate to support you after his tenure. We know how long Buhari fought to be a president and later won the seat.
That simply is it.
It was agreed from the very first day that the next governor would come from Edo central. Shuaibu knew this and acted as if nothing was happening. Obaseki advised him to forget it.

I think that Shuaibu noticed that Oshiomole had completely eclipsed him in Edo north and wanted to use Oshiomole to regain some semblance of political relevance in Edo north.

Shuaibu was it, who reneged on their agreement and ended the friendship.

Shuaibu must know that power belongs to God. He lost the battle, lost the war. In the history books of Edo state, Obaseki will be there forever as a governor. Shuaibu’s name may never be there.

He should find his way back to the house of reps, if he can, as that is his only escape and way to remain relevant politically.

Lastly, I am of the belief that Obaseki’s choice is better that Oshiomole’s candidate and the PDP will retain the state, no matter who decamps to APC.

On Election Day, we know that voters will not surpass one million as usual, with PDP winning.
PoliticsRe: Seek Diplomatic Resolution In Ogun FTZ Dispute, Gbenga Daniel Urges Tinubu by ElevationD: 8:57am On Aug 18, 2024
FreeStuffsNG:
He emphasised that, as of his handover in 2011, around 56 companies were at various stages of operation, construction, or interest in the Free Trade Zone. These efforts have led to significant development in the previously rural Igbesa area.
But his successor government stated that only a fence was built on the site by the Chinese firm.

This his statement absolutely contradicts everything the Amosun-led Exco stated and as a matter of fact, Senator Amosun just called the Chinese firm impostors! So who is lying?

EFCC and DSS must quiz everyone involved including the firm and anyone who is established to have broken the law must be prosecuted like FG did in the P&ID criminal case. For now, everyone's assumed innocent.

May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
Now you are seeing it more clearly.

Take a trip to that place in Igbesa and you will be disappointed. When they talk of Ogun state, you’ll very likely be thinking of Ijebu Ode area or such far distances. The area talked about is just after Agbara, off Badagry expressway, on the way to Atan and Ota. It is undeveloped. Even Gbenga Daniel’s claim of 56 companies operating there as at 2011 is incorrect. It was a complete virgin area as of 2011. Infact lands around there were sold for 100K a plot as of then, with the incomplete perimeter fence around the place.

You again would wonder why Gbenga Daniel chose that particular area, which is so far away from the sea port, with horrible roads difficult for trucks, to site such a project.

Amosun’s statement clearly lays the blame at his own doorstep. He admitted not reading the report handed over by Gbenga Daniel, discarded the original company and handed over to this particular group. Now it has become that Nigeria is indebted to China, rather than that Ogun state is indebted to a Chinese company.

Can we doubt if it is claimed that money exchanged hands to cancel the initial contractor, knowing the way transactions of this nature are conducted in our country? Is it not embarrassing that the aircrafts belonging to the President were seized? Can that happen to the Chinese President?

Amosun did not call the troublesome company impostors please. He accused them of not going by the terms of the contract and leaving the place uncompleted. Take your time to read and read it again.

PoliticsRe: Governor Sanwo-Olu Commissions Mushin Flyover by ElevationD:
That’s alright.

Sadly Lagos should have been far much more developed than what is experienced presently. Its position first as the federal capital and presently as the commercial capital should have been an advantage for the leaders of the past and present to develop it much more than it presently is.

A look at the income in Lagos state, which is far higher than those of other states, says everything. One cannot but question the leaders past and present, military leaders and political leaders. It is so sad when corruption and massive looting of the state has rendered it far behind certain great cities of other African nations.

By now, Lagos should be competing with Johannesburg, Tunis, Rabat and Cairo in terms of development. Even it appears that Kagali in Rwanda has surpassed Lagos in terms of infrastructural development.

Aside from building bridges and rail lines, the citizens must be made to live properly and not horribly like we see. Open defarcation, removal of iron rods and heavy metals, wrong disposal of refuse, very dirty roads and streets, poor lighting, damaging of lighting equipments, non replacement of light bulbs, etc, some of all these which are marks of big cities, must be dealt with.

The same goes for the other states, though with far lower economic capacities than Lagos, but can at least be properly developed. A look at developed nations, you”ll find that aside from their big cities which are very well developed, smaller cities and communities are equally well developed and function properly.

The greatest challenge with our country is economic sabotage and the massive looting of the little left in the common purse. Unfortunately too, citizens eulogize the horrible political leaders who make life miserable for them.

Government is there to make life better for citizens. It is not your duty as a citizen to perform the responsibilities of the government. For example, it is not your duty to construct roads or fix potholes. It is the duty of government. If government officials fail with that, simply vote then out. If they fail with health, education, agriculture, vote them out and stop collecting bribes to keep them in power. If they loot your money and it is proven, vote them out.
