The writer of this article and the Editor that allowed the article to be published are ignorant of the current trends in crime and kidnappings or they just wanted to add sensationalism to his report.

It's a known fact that these kidnappers are now using satellite phones instead of cell phones which can easily be tracked through the IRT. So, there's a need for upgrades to the tracking system to pin point the coordinates of the kidnappers.

There's also the need for smaller drones and combat drones for aerial surveillance and attacks on the base of these criminals in the NOTORIOUSLY well-known crime spots. This would deter crimes and help to apprehend criminals. Period.

Phones are phones. They all are tracked!

I was at that Owerri airport eight years ago and I have never been to that axis since then.Any invitation to come to that axis I avoid.

The drive from the airport had too many bushes and villages ,most likely something has changed since then.Or the driver took me through a wrong route.

I like the location of the Asaba airport ,you just drop down ,turn up your sleeves,walk to the express and blend into the society immediately.

Lagos MMA 1 was commissioned in 1980 by OBJ. That road from Ajao estate was very bushy until people started buying lands and building houses around Ajao estate and Mafoluku.

The states provide land after feasibility reports are confirmed alright. Nigerian airports authority are invited to look at locations and give confirmation/approval. Not all locations are accepted. Imo airport has been there for ages and the area, maybe bushy on the roads, is left for communities to build around them and develop more.

The location of Asaba airport was determined after a long process of research. First a flat land determined. Next was navigation for aircrafts on taxing, departure and arrival. Again was the need to locate it there, as Asaba is the state capital. They could have moved it to Igbuzo, Okpanam or Ogwashi Uku, etc, which are neighboring communities. A lot of them do not have such flat lands to locate the airport.

Thankfully the SE has airports coming up. Hopefully they are all put to use and enable the surrounding communities to develop, just like Lagos residents did many years ago.

The trains are used trains Sanwolu purchased in Canada and the news was shared on nairaland when he went for the purchase.

The intercity rail system was first initiated by Governor Bola Tinubu in 2003 under "Lagos Urban Transportation Project". Besides the BRT network, the rail network never took off as it was postponed multiple times by successive governors until Sanwolu.

It does not matter anymore if they are second hand coaches or trains. What matters mostly presently is that the trains work and are able to make travelling easy for citizens. That’s what leadership must achieve and that’s why leaders are elected into positions.

Let’s therefore commend the government of Lagos for the effort.
