That's a common misconception that I only just cleared up recently as well - I think from someone here. I actually waited six months before applying.

Anyway, the rule is actually that you must have leave to stay in the UK for six months or more, not that you must have stayed six months or more. So you can apply from your first day in the country if your visa length qualifies.

Oh really, never knew that. I actually thought you have to wait for six months. Good thing I asked, I know better now. Thanks.

Please do i need to also read the highway code and road signs, or its only the theory and hazard that is important.

Do they also ask for highway code and road sign in the computer test?

You need to read everything.

I have a provisional license and I have been in the Uk for 5 months. Is it advisable to keep driving with my Nigerian license while I get prepared to get my uk driving license.

Out of curiosity, if you have been in the UK for 5 months, how did you get provisional license. To the best of my knowledge, you are meant to apply for your provisional license only if you have lived in the UK for at least six months. Just asking.

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence software that helps you with answers to whatever you need. It’s like your personal assistant. You type in what u need answers to and it provides you with the answer. With job applications, Applicant tracking systems(ATS) would usually screen out your application if you don’t have enough keywords as in the job advert. So to do this without wasting your whole day on one application, just use ChatGPT.

First is to download the ChatGPT app from Apple Store. If you don’t use apple, you can download Bard or Bing from google play store. They also do same thing. Alternatively, u can use the ChatGPT website on your laptop browser: Openai.com if you do your job applications mostly with your laptop. Register and then start chatting with it. You will receive answers to your prompts.

So what I do is quite similar but I only use the person specifications. I still go through it to remove things I can’t defend (I no get power abeg). I also add specific qualifications or experience I have that aren’t there but I feel is important. I try not to max out their word limit so it’s short and easy to read. The fact that you are getting rejection mails shows your application even passed through their ATS which is what ChatGPT helps you achieve. So it’s some progress.

For me, I ask it to write a supporting statement using the person specifications and also NHS values. NHS wants you to talk about their values, it just shows u have researched about them. I attached a sample of the kinda prompt I use with ChatGPT. I even use it to prepare for my interviews.

I hope this helps

Thank you. Will see how these goes.

Have you tried using ChatGPT? That’s what I used and I got multiple interviews with the NHS

Please can you expand on this?

It says you applied as single but only put him as “dependent” usually, that’s a space for someone who is financially dependent on you not a partner per say, as long as you didn’t list him directly as a spouse/civil partner, it has no effect.

However, how does he intend to scale the path in Nigeria where he could now potentially be in possession of 1 and another pending marriage certificate, seems like you would have to get the divorce sorted asap or he comes as an unmarried/civil partner with his new beau.

Anyways, I wish you all the best. I appreciate your candour in trying to help him move forward (perhaps, this might help you move on (with maybe new partner) as well).

We are working on getting the divorce sorted as soon as possible. Thank you for your input.

I don't understand this your matter. You are the one dragging divorce, he should be the one rushing for divorce not you abi there is another thing to this matter.. e get kleg

I am helping myself. I have always wanted to but just been dragging my feet as I was waiting for certain things to align. I don't have a problem with him doing it as he's the one who needs it the most now. Either way, we wil start the divorce process.

Thanks for your input.

Your senses are not in the right places. Obviously some nuts have been unscrewed. I pity your partner or whoever marries you.

How do you jump to conclusions about my situation when you don't even have the full story. Just wow.

If I was so much of a bad person as you have painted me, would I care if my initial application would affect his? Would I be here asking questions just so his application goes without any hindrances.

Oga use your brain when typing.

Definitely it would affect it, he cannot be married to 2 individuals, he has to divorce you first. Once embassy sees that application, na straight to denial bin that if he doesn't get 5-10years ban but if he has a divorce letter already, otilo

Thank you. I intend to start the divorce process asap but divorce in Nigeriq takes time the reason I'm asking if there's anything else I need to do to enable him be with whoever he wants as a dependent.

Should I inform the HO of my current circumstance?

I am smelling foul play from your side as well. Probably you blocked him from coming and he wants to use other means to come but you wish it doesn't work out. Imagine someone you said wasn't coming suddenly wanted to come with a new person. Na you and the guy cross sha but I am sure the villain will be vindicated.
He didn't come because he doesn't have your documents to come

I want to give you a piece of my mind but I will exercise restrain. You don't know me nor him and then you jump into conclusion that I blocked him from coming.

Was I not the one who initially filled him as my dependent? Things happen and people fall apart, people's circumstances change and circumstances influences people's decisions.

Next time use your brain before typing.

Wahala ...He would need your CoS or CAS details to file application as your dependent - does he have all those details? If not, then you have nothing to worry about but if he does then you may consider reporting to UKVI after filing for the divorce.

Thanks for your response. He isn't coming as my dependent. He is coming under someone else. I just wanted to know if my initial application in Nigeria would affect his chances of coming to the UK.

Hello my people, please prior to traveling to the UK, I and my partner did a court wedding. I used him as my dependent during my application in Nigeria. Sadly, after I traveled, a lot happened. He didn't come and I decided to move on.

Do I need to inform the HO of my current circumstance as I intend to file for divorce once I have the resources.

Can he be a dependent on someone else, will my application in Nigeria affect him. He didn't go for biometrics and all that.

What do I need to do as he met someone and might be a dependent on her visa. Whilst applying for my post study, i filled as Single. Your advise will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks.

Pay is negotiable.

I need someone proficient in excel, power bi and sql for starters. This is going to be an ongoing project so please I don't need no time wasters. Thank you.

If he paid then he should have a record of that payment associated with the reg of the car. Ask him to show you the reciepts.

He didn't pay. He has no records. I have decided to cut my losses. It is well.

I think you were so eager to buy a car from a ‘friend’ that you didn’t bother to do the most basic research about road taxes.

Road tax 101 is very clear that it a not transferable. The day a car is sold, the burden shifts to the new owner. Infact, if the old owner had already paid fully, they will be refunded.

I guess you have paid school fees, to learn the hard way.

Lessons learned. Move on.

We agreed he would pay till he transfers to me which he didn't. Well lessons learned. Thank you.

You are still referring to this person as your friend? He clearly ripped you off.

Tell him to at least refund you the money for the tax.

I did but he keeps claiming he paid which doesn't make sense. Lessons learnt though. Thank you.

Hmmm....

Learn from this and trust only yourself next time.

Please settle the tax man before they will dispose of the car.....tax man does not laugh when it comes to what belongs to him

Yeah learnt my lesson. Thank you.

That the problem with friendship ... you let some things slide because he was your friend and now see . Stories like this makes people just keep friends at arms length and go through neutral platforms

He stopped the tax but included tax in the price ... na wa . That wasn't nice of him . Is he ready to refund you some part to cover the tax

the tax man is in to make money so they won't let this slide. You either pay and take it as an expensive lesson learnt or don't know how you can make your friend give you some to cover this gbese

Whew. I trusted he was paying the tax. I don't even have the money to pay tbh.

Please I have a situation... sorry this is a bit lengthy

I bought a car from a friend, he charged me the cost of the road tax included in the total cost of the car, whereas he stopped paying after I picked up the car. Recently, I decided to sell the car as cost of maintenance was getting too high, I have only driven the car for about three months, all this time I kept asking for the V5 and he kept saying he couldn't find it, like he has misplaced it.

Last month I insisted that I needed the V5 as I want to put the car out for sale, and he said he would fill a V6 form and I will get the V5 it in my post within 6 weeks.

Last week, I got back home after work and couldn't find the car so I panicked and called the police thinking it's been stolen, but I was told DVla came to clamp and impound it. I called DVLa explaining that I didn't have the Log book and that it was only recently that the registered keeper was transferred to my name, that I don't even drive the car either as I had bought another car. And the guy explained that it's my responsibility to tax the vehicle but it isn't dvla who clamped it, that it's a tax enforcement agency, so he gave me their number to call.

I called the tax enforcement agency explaining my situation, they said I have to pay £539 pounds and every day it stays with them is an extra £22, and I should also know that there are no guarantees that the car will not be scrapped by Friday this week.

I'm at a loss at what to do because honestly, there was no way I would have Taxed the car without the v5 reference number, moreso, because my friend charged me for the road tax while I was paying for it as he said he wil keep up with the payment, I didn't bother to check if he was paying or not. When I asked him why he stopped paying for the tax, he said because he transferred the registered keeper to my name, and I said it's only recently you did that, he said it didn't matter, as long as it's not Taxed and its parked on govt road as my house doesn'thave a private garage, dvla has the right to clamp it.

Please I need advise on what to do, I don't have that money to give ro those people neither do I want to loose the car.

Mamas in the house, please I have a question. What can someone do of they haven't seen period for 50 days, this is unusual as the person is not pregnant.

She's been asked to do blood tests but can't go forward with blood tests as she needs to do it on day 3 and 21 of her period or are there blood tests that can be carried out without period? Please your answers will be genuinely appreciative.
