When men were men, they did not make this stupid noise on the TV and Radio alone they just declared it. So please go and declear it and stop disturbing us on NAIRALAND. P.s NAIRALAND. |

omenka: Whatever it is, honestly, I tend to always see these men as victims rather than culprits. They built the foundation upon which the civil service rests today only to be treated like dogs on retirement.
What prevents us from paying these men 70k pensions when a governor could be earning over a billion per year as pension?
The structure of the Nigerian civil service as it stands today is like an inverted pyramid- it is an anomaly badly in need of reconstruction.
I feel terrible whenever I come across these men in banks.
That reminds me.
Sometime three years ago, I was driving out of the house and just along my street before hitting the main road, saw this grandpa trudging along. Pulled over and asked him where he was heading and it was just about half a mile from where I was heading, so I offered to drop him off before proceeding to my destination.
Started chatting and dude surprised me with his flawless english! . He appeared like a man who could hardly construct a correct sentence. Told me he was heading to a meeting of pensioners that they were constantly being short-changed by the banks and want to take a formal position, as a body, over the trend.
Told me stories of what pride it used to be working in the civil service but that today, the whole system has been basterdised by our generation. Told me how they used to remit unspent monies back to the treasury and how transparent they were, but today, all that is no more. Then he asked me a question that got me thinking for the rest of that day. He says "if they had behaved then the way we are now, what would have been left for us to survive on"??
Talked about a few other stuffs and he introduced himself when he was getting off- very refined gentleman I must say.
Bro, the system is really crooked and it would take a lot of will power to fix the rot. I'm not at all saying what the man did it right, I'm just saying were things being done the way they should, we would rarely have incidences like this- he would have been a satisfied and proud "retiree". I think it's high time for these old men to stop saying our generation spoil this or that, the people who mess up this country are in their 50's, 60's and 70's alot of them are still in government. We are just stating life but they always refer to us as those that mess the civil service up! I don tire. |

There was a rumour last month by the civilian jtf that he was capture somewhere around Damboa LGA, though I did not hear anywhere in this Video saying in Hausa he surrender or his people should surrender, the clarity of the video is in doubt but the voice sounds 100% shekau (the crazy guy in their old videos). But if he was really capture last month then maybe the NA might have force him to make this video. He looks and sound like the shadow of his former self! |

My advice is to her parent, when she is finally released to them, they should show her abundance of love. It will be very wrong of them to try and isolate or mistreat her as this will only make her try to run away again. But if she insist over time not to "come back to her senses" then maybe they should let her be, but not disown her! She is a still a child. |

Every sane human being has a limit to what he/she termed as normal, OBJ supported GEJ as a VP, later as acting president and ultimately supporting him to emerge president against the wishes of a lot of people. All this I believe with the best intention for the country. But with advice coming from people with sentiment, they end up ruining GEJ and the country. We now have an opportunity today, are we going to support the current administration to revive the country or are we going frustrate their effort! |

TheDevilIsALai: The banks will rather borrow states than you from where the governors will convert it to forex (thereby putting more pressure on the naira) and stash it in Swiss vaults. Any right thinking bank knows the high volatility of giving loans to states. I hope you know that almost all the state are owing to one bank or another, in fact it's so bad that most of the loans have gone bad and had to be restructured exposing the total NPL making our banks riskier. Your argument is completely a non issue. |

Women=18 Men =25 Then again, it all depends on a persons emotional stability and maturity. For an irresponsible person who doesn't have plans to change he/she can wait till the last minute. I got married at th age of 27 my wife was 24 and we are going good (since 2012). So even if you are 50 and not a responsible person, there will be problems in your marriage! |

I have a 2 year 9 months boy who I am still teaching him how to wake up at night to urinate when he is pressed. First, the time she sleeps matters, let's say she goes to bed by ten, insure that she doesn't take too much water close to when she is going to bed. She should urinate just before she slams on the bed and any time you wake up lets say around 3am to pee, insure you wake her too. And if you are not the type that wakes to pee then set alarm for 5am to wake her up. |
