That i'm pissed off and stranded is an understatement. .. I've been trying to use one of my Naira MasterCard on an ATM several times now and I've also tried out several ATMs in different locations and I've even tried it at my bank's branch but I still keep getting the same error which reads "Card not Smart". Initially, I thought I was not placing the card in the right way i.e. with the memory chip facing upwards and forward but that didn't seem to be the problem. I again thought that my card has expired but it hasn't since it's going to expire in 2018. I've also tried my other cards as well on it and those ones worked except for this particular one. It seems that this Naira MasterCard has probably gone past its lifespan and needs a replacement. If it was no longer useful, then it means I may have to get another one a second time, and this is a card that I've barely used for 1 year and for which I was charged by my bank. I'm not yet totally sure what happened to my Naira Mastercard but it seems that somehow the memory chip on the card is no longer readable by the ATMs and so it ends up giving the error "Card not smart". Looking back I don't remember placing the card on any electronics device, putting it in my wallet sitting on it, or well taking it swimming . .. like i told you it's the second time in two years so the customer care at my bank was sure to read me all the do's and don't of keeping an ATM, and believe me i kept to all of em, i don't even take my Atm with me unless i really need to. I don't know what could have caused my ATM card's memory chip to be destroyed that made it unreadable by the ATMs. but it just seems to have worn out although I didn't see any visible signs of wear and tear on it. I have another ATM card which I use more often but it's still working perfectly but this one that I rarely used just gave up the ghost. Are some ATM cards made with higher quality than others? Do some banks prefer that customers just request for new cards before their existing ones reach their validity period? I think Nigerian banks should produce smart cards that are can withstand wear or damage for as long as they remain valid e.g. 2 years. I may now have to pay another 1000 to purchase another ATM (i.e if the price is still the same, since the price of everything is changing these days). I hope that one lasts for at least 1 years before getting damaged (i.e if I eventually agree to get another Atm) . .. Contemplating closing the account sef (maybe I'd threaten them with that) ![]() Right now i heading down to the bank to know if this is their new method of taking someone's hard earned cash, (well you might say 1000 naira is not much) but in this time of fuel scarcity, Heaven might just come down if they don't give me a good reason when I get to the bank. ![]() |
A king in the Bafut region in Cameroon, is the
proud heir who has inherited his father's 72
wives » and over 500 children, to add to his
over 30 wives, meaning that he now has more
than 100 wives and close to 700 children. The monarch, King Fon Abumbi II, who is the traditional ruler of the town of Bafut and its adjoining areas in the Northwest Province of that country, does not feel there is anything wrong in pursuing the record set by the Biblical King Solomon » as his large family is one that is close knit and he says that he knows all of his brood by name. King Fon Abumbi II and two of his wives Photo Credit: Mirror “During colonialism, other values came in, of governance, different from the traditional values we had and therefore there is this constant conflict between the traditional values and modern western values. My role is to blend them, to find the way forward so my subjects can enjoy the fruits of development and modernity without destroying their culture. Without a culture, you are not a human being, you are an animal. And therefore the chieftaincy institution is the guarantor of our culture,” King Abumbi said.

As promised the Part2 of the Topic . .. "CREATING A BUSINESS NAME" . PROs Using a business name enables you to charge more. .A business name makes you sound more experienced and more dedicated to the design work you do. Because of that, it’s possible clients are willing to pay higher rates than if you give off a one-man show aura. . Using a business name can make you more marketable. .It’s a lot easier to separate your personal life (especially online) from your professional life when you have a unique business name. After all, you probably don’t want your future clients to have access to your latest family vacation photos when are looking for information about your business. . Using a business name can make you seem experienced. .Using a business name makes you seem well-established and experienced (only if you choose a good name) so people could be more likely to hire and trust you. . Using a business name allows for growth. .If you plan to hire employees one day, choosing a name that can grow along with your business is the right solution for you. . .. CONs Using a business can make it impersonal. .Just like using your personal name as a business name can make your client relationship too personal, using a business name can make it too impersonal. Most people want to know they have someone (a real person) they can rely on to answer their questions and resolve their concerns. If you decide to choose a unique business name, make sure your marketing materials boast available and personal attention. . Using a business name could make you appear more expensive. .If potential clients feel like they are going to have to pay for work time plus expensive overhead costs your fancy-pants business incurs, they are going to be less likely to hire you. . Using a business can be less memorable. .In addition to remembering your name, your clients will have to remember the name of your company whenever they receive invoices from you, write you a check, or recommend you to other potential clients. It could be worth it to have them remember just one name: yours. Do you use your own name to market your business or have you come up with a business name? How has it helped your business? Share? Hope the post was Helpful?

So a lot of people fall into this delima of choosing a business name, Should it include their personal name or not, what would it say about them" So here are some Advantages and disadvantages of either using ur personal name as a business name or different brand name" . This post is quite lengthy so I would split into two parts" . Part 1 "USING YOUR NAME AS A BUSINESS NAME" One option that a lot of Business starters take is to use their own name as the business name. There are clear benefits to this approach. Some of which include : PROs Using your own name allows you to appear affordable Many people choose to hire someone over firm because they know they can get a better price most of the time. If you want to make sure your potential clients don’t get any mixed messaging, just stick with your own name. . Using your own name makes your company transparent and personal People hate interacting with huge corporations. There’s nothing more annoying than never being able to get a hold of the person you need to when you need to. Using your own name as a business name is a great way to say, “I’m always going to be available for whatever needs you have.” . Using your own name can be memorable You won’t ever find a client saying “Hey, maybe we should hire whats-his- name from John Smith Design.” If people can remember your business name, they can remember your name and vice-versa. ... CONs Using your own name can make you seem inexperienced Unfortunately, some people associate the small feel using your name can create with inability to perform. The truth of the matter is, anyone can work from home and start a business call “Jane Smith’s Company”, for all they know, you’ve only started for a few weeks and they are your first real client. . Using your own name can make it TOO personal Using a business name for your company can create an imaginary barrier between you and your clients. This barrier can prove useful at 2 am when they are pacing in their home office trying to decide whether they should call you about a typo on their web site or not. Maybe you don’t want to seem that approachable to your clients. . Using your own name can create confusion in the future If you plan to grow your business to include other employees, using your own name could get confusing. Not to say it hasn’t been done effectively before (take Ogilvy, Sam’s Club, Smith’s, or Johnson & Johnson to name a few). . .. Next The second part2 which will deal with creating a biz name* https://www.nairaland.com/2855468/own-name-vs-creating-business

Fashion officials say French designer Andre
Courreges,
who laid claim to the invention of
the 1960s miniskirt, has died at the age of 92
.
His fashion house said in a statement that
Courreges died Thursday night following a 30-
year battle with Parkinson's disease.
.
Courreges launched his fashion house in 1961.
His eponymous label set the trends for such
stars as Brigitte Bardot and Catherine Deneuve,
who admired the designer's ground-breaking
geometry, plastic miniskirts, space-age
silhouettes and futuristic textiles
.
The house's designs returned to the Paris
catwalk last year after decades away.
French President Francois Hollande paid tribute
in a statement that described Courreges as a
"revolutionary designer'' who "made his mark
on French haute couture.
''
No one’s fashion legacy has been more
fiercely contested than that of the
French couturier André Courrèges
,
Courrèges’ story, however, doesn’t
start or end with the miniskirt. After
studying engineering and architecture,
Courrèges decided his calling was
fashion.
He worked with the austere,
modernist Spanish couturier Cristobal
Balenciaga for 11 years, launching his
own label in 1961.
His spring/summer 1964 “Space Age”
collection – of severe, structural
clothing betraying his interest in
architecture (“Le Corbusier is my only
master,” he once said) cut in squidgy,
rigid double-gaberdines – brought him
instant fame and acclaim
.
Courrèges proposed a look that was
strikingly, even aggressively bold,
futuristic and unforgiving
. But it is Courrèges’ vision of the future that actually lasted. Indeed, it even became the future. “Since the Sixties, there has been nothing but retro,” Courrèges presciently commented to WWD – but frequently, that retro came from Courrèges’ originals, rehashed by generation after generation of designers. In September, the house was revived by young French designers Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, paying homage to Courrèges’ space-age designs, and his then-innovative notion of “industrial couture” – what we call ready-to-wear. . Courrèges was, in a sense, a victim of his own success.

Unconfident, unsure, and inexperienced guys will stay in a bad relationship for far too long and feel like they're wrong to walk. So they stay there until the girl does all the hard work, makes them feel bad and thus put all the emotional guilt on the guy. What these guys need is assurance they're doing the right thing. This article will confirm your suspicions, gentleman . .. So in no particular Order 1. She has issues with her father This is a big big problem. A girl who has problems with her father generally has a lot of guy friends and doesn't respect boyfriends at all branding most of them assholes. She's nice for now but when you break up with her she'll be carrying the emotional weight from the break up as well as the reminder of the bad relationship she has with her dad. Stay well away and believe me when I say she'll turn psycho in a split second. No, she's not misunderstood. She's crazy. 2. She doesn't talk with any of her exes You meet a sweet girl, she's so nice and you find out her last seven boyfriends are "idiotic, stupid, and treat women badly" - where's the common factor here? Her. If a girl can't be civil with any of her ex-boyfriends, unless they all hit her (unlikely, but possible), you've got damaged goods on your hands. What guys ignore is that when you listen to a girl's relationship history, you can often find out where you'll be if the future takes a trip down South 3. She nags on you to call more and make more of an effort When you start calling more frequently, suddenly, she's busy herself. You bring up the same point calmly and she shouts at you. Rinse and repeat. If she's playing that card she wants more control. And you don't want a controlling woman around. 4. She's making excuses A girl is never too busy to meet up with a guy she likes. Ever. She'll have a slot of time somewhere and deep down I know every girl knows that. "Doing something else" translates to "I've lost interest". If she's still dating you because she likes you she'll tell you when she's next free immediately after invitation to date. If she doesn't and lets you know later, she's got nothing else to do and know you're going to help her fill her time. 5. She started dating seriously at an early age She's funny, sweet and attentive. Relationships come up and you talk about the first time you can seriously say you were in love. She says 15 and he was...wait...twenty? Girls who date older guys early get hurt early. They're carrying around preconceptions all men aren't good because of this one bad experience (To be honest, they're not far wrong. A lot of guys are bad in this day and age) so think about what's going to happen to you. 6. She tells you everything about her exes There's nothing you don't know about her exes. You ask and she tells you all about them. Their dirty little secrets, their bad habits and the horrible things they used to do to her. Now, hypothetically, let's say you two broke up. Whose dirty washing is going to be aired next? Yours. If nothing's sacred to her, once it's all over, you won't be either 7. She doesn't value sex "It's just sex", she says. She's disinterested and it seems more like a process to her than anything else. No decent girl is used to putting out to guys she doesn't have a connection with. If it's purely physical to her then think about why she's got that idea into her head. 8. She lies Women are absolutely great at being sociable and will pick out untruths whenever they can be it subtly or obviously. I sometimes say to my flatmate what I'm having something for dinner and change my mind six hours later - she'll pick up on it. How the hell is she supposed to care what I'm eating after a full day? When it comes to interactions with people a girls memory is subconsciously flawless. The only time it isn't is when it's not the truth. If the same story rolls by twice but has a major difference, keep quiet about it. If she knows you're onto her, she'll double check her story which puts you in a bad position. Don't overreact and loose ends will untie themselves. If they don't, you've got a liar on your hands. 9. "You left the TV on when you left. Are you some sort of IDIOT?" When she picks a fight over the smallest things, something's up. If it's a problem she can sort out easily and she gets angry about it, it's time to leave before she comes at you with a wine bottle. One thing to remember is that if she's shouting at you, you don't have to shout back 10. You don't know any of her friends If a girl loves you she'll show you off to her friends; being social creatures they like to show everybody else how great you are. You don't know any of her friends and you've been dating a while something's amiss. The time period doesn't matter, so long as you don't know any aof her friends, you're still on trial and so's she. |
7 texting Rules about ladies Business apart 1. A lady will only reply your chats if she's interested in you or the way you chat" 2.If she refuses to give you her number, you probably U need help* 3. A lady would only give you her number just to be polite and give you a chance "not to be a dic* 4. Interestingly you become a dic* thru your chats with her, (your first chat with her determines her replies in future) 5. Your every text is thoroughly screened for awkwardness, before she replies I.e if she repies And how long she takes to do so (if it takes too long dts critical) 6. Your text could be read but still not replied" 7. Seriously ladies don't really have up to 50 contacts to reply, If they do they don't have to literally say it, 8. Even if they do they have up to 100 "becos they are as busy as Dangote" I bet you they can still make out time for you becos you'r "interesting" but then ur not, sorry* |
Ok so she "literally" set it on fire" |
I like the path you've taken to develop yourself spiritually, Personally I don't let the whole religion stuff get to my head, but dosent mean to let go of spirituality totally" Beyond religion I think you should just strive to do what's right and seek the face of God, regardless your denomination, I'm also a Catholic but it dosen't stop me from going to fellowship with other churches" there are a lot of people out there we might be looking up to as religious leaders but would end up leading us astray, at least Wisdom helps u know what's right and leave what is not* |
