I have no problem removing my part. It was a concept and I am not fronting that I am a rapper. It says on the original download that I was messing about etc.

Good work on the vocals. I try to do that, but for some reason it skipped my mind lol.

I think the vocals are really good in my opinion and heck, the MJ reference should most likely make the final cut.

As it stand, there is no organisation and everyone seem to be doing their own thing - even though the idea is all about working together etc.

I have some ideas on what the vocals should be like and will post them up to you tonight.

Also, how may tracks are you working on? I do not want to overwhelm you man as I am of the belief you are getting tracks here and there. Also, some people may feel you are getting special treatment lol. Personally, I will suggest we get more rappers with Pidgin lingo speaks as this would represent Nigeria influenced speak.

@Chamotex, if you are reading this, I have a few beats for you, but again Uni and placement is taking all my time but we may have to make time at some point.

Also the sale of a mixtape is not counted as part of an album by record labels I think - though they may own the rights to the artist in some cases - so it may mean more money for the artist coming to him directly without anyone taking a cut.

The original idea of mixtape is to bring about awareness and show people what can be done. However, it is now used for various purpose like generating fan base, hype, etc.

A mix tape will usually have all sort of production styles on them and the works are sometimes not structured - this do not mean the song are not fit for an album cut. It is like a less restrictive environment and the artist can get plenty of approach and direction in. A good example here will be Jada kiss Mix tape I got from late last year or so.

Mixtapes can be bought or sold. I have a few The Game mix tape that I paid for, however it appear over here people are used to the concept of "Free internet" i.e use the internet to get anything free.  It won't do you any good to sell mix tape if you are not know, also it won't do you any good for someone one like Jay Z or Nas to do a whole free mix tape - There are two sides to the argument here though.

Some songs on a mixtape make it into the album cut due to respond from the consumer. In some of The Game mixtape I have, he had lines from the mix tapes that he used in some of his recent album and I think this tapes dates back to before he was known commercially.


Overall, see a mix tape as a "Trailer to a album" i.e a taste of what to come.

I am guessing you are recording from home? Give mixcraft a try, it is meant to be very easy and with plenty of loops and what not.

Finally, it all boils down to budget. Free softwares are free for a reason, you may have to shell out at some point to buy something. But it is best to get yourself the basics knowledge from the freewares.

What are you trying to achieve with it? It is not a DAW , but more or less a processing software.

To answer your question, as a free ware it is very good. Play around with it and read the help guide. You may want to check online too for guidelines.

I think we need better coordination to be honest.  Me, I don go back to uni for my Second degree, so time no dey my end. I can only do about an hour a day, and with many request for beats coming in and coupled with poor coordination and communication it is hard to get it together.

As per this track, I am actually waiting for someone to take it on and give directions as to if they needed more stuff to it etc.

Finally, the final/approved tracks will be kept under-wraps until "release date". I am guessing at next month or so at some point.
