Nigerian Telecommunications, NITEL was unbundled and sold during Obasanjo era by his VP, Atiku. What has become of that national asset today? How many Nigerians are in its employ? You also mentioned power. Obasanjo released 16 BILLION DOLLARS to fix Nigeria's epileptic power supply. How far with that? You talk of security. Were Nigerians better secured then than now? The police meant to protect have always been a trigger-happy lot, even during Obasanjo's time, killing commercial drivers all because of 20 bucks. I won't even mention spares of political assassinations, kidnappings, ritual killings etc. Odi village was wiped clean off the map of Nigeria at the orders if Obasanjo. Obasanjo ceded part of Nigeria away to Cameroon. Till today, the people of Bakassi are living like refugees in their own country. Their lands taken away from them. Is that security? I'd better stop here. |

There are things you don't know and you just have faith that it's true until your intellectual mind can comprehend the truth being asserted by your spiritual mind. You trust and have faith in the scientific process that has propounded this theory even if your mind cannot grasp it yet. It is faith that makes us accept gravity even if we don't see it. If man were to rely only on knowledge, he won't go very far. It is faith and not knowledge that has made science indebted to philosophers over the ages. Faith and reason, Fides et Ratio are two inseparable companions. Faith is not the absence of reason. Reason isn't the absence of faith. That we can't understand the nature of God or how He can come to be doesn't mean He doesn't exist. It means our minds cannot grasp it...yet. That we can't see Him doesn't mean He doesn't exist, otherwise we'd be like little kids in our approach to life. The only reason why mankind hasn't developed past this stage is because of its insistence on placing more emphasis on physics instead of metaphysics. As tough as it sounds you should have told her point blank, straight up albeit nicely that you don't feel the same way. Leading her on all in the name of not wanting to hurt her will eventually hurt her even more deeply than if you'd been blunt the first time. Now, you're going to turn into a jerk with her cos she's going to wonder why you led her on. Don't get into a relationship out of pity. If you're going to let her down, do so gently. You could tell her anything to make it sting less. You could tell her that you just broke off an engagement with your fiancée and you're trying to get over that and you're not exactly ready to jump into a relationship yet. Or you could let her know that long distance relationship is hard and you don't have any plans to go back to Nigeria for a while. If you phrase your excuse in a realistic manner and you make it sound like it's your issue and not her, them she won't feel undesirable. She will respect you as an honourable man. 3 Likes 1 Share |
