Does Tomori see it that way?

All this young guys think about is the prestige of being called a 3 lions player even if he doesn't get to start.

That's the way it is. Even if he knows he has a better chance of commanding a starting shirt for Naija, he may feel that he can win more laurels representing England even as a bench warmer.
D first line sums everything up...from agbonlahor to those we av missed, they re not dummies, dey re aware of all dis playing time issues, but d fact dt dey will b called a 3lions player sitting on d bench or been called up once in a wyle in friendly games seems preferable 2 dem dan been an active player in eagles...it was only iwobi dt surprised me,maybe due to his uncle influence sha,but am also sure,it took a lot of conviction b4 he made his decision to play for us.

Check out most British-nigerian dey don't openly declare to play for us not until when all options of plying for england is exhausted and age is catching, b4 dey switch allegiance most especially those players actively playing in elite club... As for me only miracle will happen to Tammy and tomori to play for us and if we re not fast enuf, once eze moves to a decent club,he will change its mind immediately once d British press start praising his talent, thus increasing his chances of representing England is getting brighter. wink

The problem with the SE is Rohr. I was a passionate supporter of this man, my enthusiasm for him began to dip shortly before the WC and finally nose dived during the WC especially when a bogey man team like Argentina was there for the taking.

He's too ultra conservative. Too cold for this hot bloods we have. Using 90s football to square our players. Any perceptive observer of our national team can easily see that our players can belt out great football yet there's just this draw soup kinda thing that puts a drag on the team. That's the Rohr effect- to put a clamp on your players, to retreat when you ought to go for a kill.

Ironically the team is evolving under him but he himself seems stuck in a rut.
U will just come out of nowhere and talk angry

Lol... elyte calm down. Ndidi is one of my top favorites in the GWG but I just have to point out that instance to be balanced. But you ehn... lol... anyway, you wanting Ndidi to be sacrificed and not Etebo and another wanting Etebo sacrificed and not Ndidi in the SE first XI all boils down to which of them will play and interpret brilliantly the role they are assigned in a midfield three alongside Iwobi and Aribo... time will tell.
Am not saying, its a must dey sacrifice ndidi...but d reality is we can do fine wout Him..he's not indispensable.. Period, his importance in Leicester is not d same as in eagles... My opinion wink

You are correct about the Algerian goal but not about Madagascar. I can not blame him for that.

That said, Ndidi still had better defensive stats, tackles, interceptions and clearances than Etebo in the midfield in the WC and in the nations cup. That is why i say, he will protect the defence more.

In the WC, Etebo had an average of 5 dribbles per game. What are we doing with 5 dribbles when you are not Okocha. People hail him for that but what attack did those dribbles start??
Same way I will ask you...what exactly has d blocks from ndidi led to in our attacks..has he ever orchestrated any attack b4 dt led to a goal..please mention one?

Cos going back to d afcon..d recent tournament played, ndidi had no direct impact in d goals scored even though its not his primary assignment... D first goal was assisted by aina,d second match against Guinea was assisted by simon scored by omeruo, same as d Cameroonian game, ndidi had no hand in it against d southies, same thing, against Algeria, it was etebos wide shot dt hit d Algerian defender led to our equalizer b4 ndidi cost us d match with his unprofessional rash tackle and to cap it all..he has zero goals for eagles,no b say na like oliseh dt bail us out when d chips re down

So abeg all dis defensive stat by ndidi is a norm,is it me dt would block, he was called upon to do it,same as etebo,so in a nutshell, both av contributed well to d teams growth. its not as if ndidis' contribution has led to all d success we av achieved so far

Sometimes committing fouls is also tactical. Many big teams employ this to shut down their opponents and disrupt their attacking flow. Even Man City employs this tactic when found on the backfoot in a game. So committing fouls is not entirely rested on the altar of indiscipline. It is one of many tactics coaches use to limit or curtail.

On Ndidi, yes most of the times his tackles are clean but let me remind you that he was the one who gave away those fouls twice against Algeria towards the game's dying minutes and one of it resulted in that Mahrez free kick which beat Akpeyi in goal. Ndidi's careless tackle so close to our 18 yard box in such dangerous position in that one instance cost the team.
Very good point...I like ur last paragraph,d likes of timay and earthquake1 won't c dis....if it were to b etebo dt made dis similar mistake,na war e go b for this thread..once u re in d favorite books on dis thread,no matter what u do,u re good to go eida its bad or not...ndidi cost us dt semi final game..u heard it from me first.. Yes he cost us dt game(an experience player of his caliber making mumu tackle like an npfl player, sorry o basco grin grin grin)...same guy cos d freekick resulting to Madagascar second goal, also deflected d goal(fine dis re human errors in football wc can happen to any player;but ndidi hasn't contribute much to eagles play same as he does in Leicester.. So I c no reason y he can't b benched; smiley

Two players went to d same competition(etebo and ndidi;similar position)..and he played better and u re still asking what he does on d pitch.its normal for one not to like a player style, but @ both players objectively etebo played better in both tourneys... I think Ndidi will protect the defense better than any other player, we have. Even in the first half, our defense had issues. Play Ndidi in the same Leicester role.
Dt is what u guys av not realize..Ndidi is a very fine player for Leicester city but when it comes Nigeria, he dont get to c half of his performance in his club, he's kind of a two diff player,it could b dt d coaching crew here don't knw aw to maximize his function or d players he plays with here re not bringing out d best in him or both.. All I knw is ndidi in all fairness to him has not been top notch for eagles,I av enjoyed etebo play to ndidi(both av played in two tournaments now) and etebo has played better smiley...so if I were rohr going forward..I might just stick to d trio we used yday

The bolded is also why I boldly stated that one of Etebo or Ndidi must eventually drop off the Starting XI. This is an Upgrade and suits nicely our team"s attacking plays and strengths so most likely Etebo will have to give way sooner or later.

More games for Iwobi-Aribo-Ndidi/Etebo will see us birth a new super midfield trio and then what follows
would be squad depth in those specific roles.
If I will pick..base on eagles performance so far, I will sacrifice ndidi for d trio, however due to some obvious sentiment, ndidi will never be dropped to d bench smiley

He can be invited definitely, he will add depth.

Ndidi, Etebo, Aribo, I do not think Zuby offers a major improvement on these 3. I say so because i watch some of his games in Turkey.

I think, the most important area is someone to play Iwobi's role. If Iwobi needs to be subbed, there is absolutely no one available.

With Ndidi absence, Etebo slotted in pretty well and Aribo played beside him. Zuby would have been a better alternative to Esiti today but if everyone is available, i do not think zuby is needed.
Had it been it was zuby dt replaced iwobi...am sure d Ukrainians won't equalize...d guy has dis ability to retain ball and calm d nerves of existing pressure; leading to dictating d rhythm, wc I felt aribo shld av done in absence of iwobi when he was removed, but in d second half aribo was quiet.am not saying zubby is a better AM,but he has dis "calmness" in his game,wc I av noticed a very long time, with d ability to pass d ball both in long and close ranges

Like tbaba rightly said...another AM shld b searched for and tried..let d coaches work on dt..and for Collins,we don't av to discard him,am sure once ebuehi is back into d folds, he would give him dt fight wink
