The Lagos State Police Command has reported on the discovery of an illegal brewery at Egbe-Afa in Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State. Five suspects were also arrested at the scene.

Edgal Imohimi, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, made this known to journalists at the scene on Wednesday.

The illegal brewery was producing malt drinks, stout and ethanol which they pumped into trucks to bottle at another location.

Mr Imohimi said that the suspects would be subjected to further interrogation to know where the drinks were bottled and sold.

He said that the illegal brewery would be sealed and samples of the drinks would be sent to the laboratory for test.

The police chief attributed discovery of the illegal brewery to the efforts of community policing and partnership.

According to him, the people of Lagos are showing increasing confidence in the police.

Mr Imohimi urged residents to know their neighbours, saying that vigilance was the only way to have a crime-free society.

“This success story of the police is an evidence that community policing and partnership is working in the state. This is an illegal distillery where malt, stout and ethanol are being produced in an unhygienic environment thereby feeding poison to the people.

“You will recall that a fake wine factory was also discovered at Mushin recently. This is as a result of vigilance. I encourage the people to do more.

“This is an information which should have got to the police earlier, but I commend the people for sharing this information with the police.

“People must be deeply involved in crime fighting and this can only be done if we are vigilant.

“Lagosians can only give credible information to the people when they are healthy; so I will encourage you to say something when you see something,” he said.

The illegal brewery has more than 1,000 drums of brewed malt and 100 tanks where the drinks are pumped before supplying tankers.

A plane crash in Algeria has reportedly left more than 200 people dead, local media reports. The military aircraft reportedly went down near an airport at Boufarik — less than 20 miles from the capital Algiers.

It had been transporting dozens of troops and equipment when it crashed just after 8am local time. State media reports that the Soviet-designed Il-76 plane was headed for Bechar in southwest Algeria, and the cause of the crash remains unclear.

Footage captured by witnesses shows a huge plume of black smoke billowing from an area near the runway. As many as 14 ambulances and ten fire engines were dispatched to the horror blaze and dozens of bodies were pulled from the wreckage, according to local reports.

Emergency services have been dispatched to the site of the crash.

Television footage showed black smoke billowing near a motorway and a crowd of security officials and others standing in a field next to the crash site.

All roads around the airport were closed to help emergency services carry out a desperate rescue mission.

The tail fin of a plane could be seen above olive trees, with smoke and flames rising from the wreckage.

Boufarik is located in northern Algeria, near the Mediterranean sea, some 20 miles from the capital.

But an Algerian military source told local news broadcaster Al-Hadath that there are no survivors.

Just in February 2018, a plane crash in Iran killed all the 66 passengers on board, including a child. The plane crashed into the snow-covered Dena mountain in central Iran.

The Aseman Airlines plane – which had reportedly made an emergency landing earlier in the month – was flying from the capital Tehran to Yasuj when it vanished from radar about an hour after take-off.

It was reported that all 60 passengers and six crew members on the ATR 72 twin-engine turboprop plane were killed.

An alleged Closed Circuit Television footage of the Offa Bank Robbery in Offa, Kwara State, has surfaced on the internet.

On Thursday last week, gunmen numbering about 30 had stormed the town and engaged in a robbery operation that was reported to have lasted for about 2 hours without any confrontation from security agents across the state.

No fewer than 17 persons, including nine policemen, were killed in the robbery operation carried out

In the footage, a woman and her child were seen leaving what looked like the ATM house of a bank when gun bearing men started shooting sporadically from the major road.

Two men standing by the small house took off immediately they heard the gunshots, while the camera angle did not show what became of the woman and the child she was holding.

After that, three armed men were seen going around seemingly coordinating what next to do.

Smoke, which appeared to come from explosives were also seen after a banging noise.

Another explosive was later thrown into what seem like the small building housing the ATM.

Then the men went inside and came out.

The CCTV footage could however not be independently confirmed as being that of the Offa robbery incident as at press time.

The Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed has however offered N5 million for information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the Offa bank robbery attack in Offa town. On Thursday, police officers and residents were killed when armed robbers attacked five banks and a police station.

In a statement released by the media aide to the governor Muyideen Akorede, Gov. Ahmed has reportedly promised anyone who has useful information to contact the state police command on the following numbers – 0803 739 1280‬ and 0803 236 5122.

The Police also reported that some suspects linked to the robbery attack are already in their custody.

Big Brother Naija housemate, Cee-C, after some days of bitter avoidance with her estranged partner, Tobi, has finally opened up to him saying he gave her a reason to love herself.

This came up when the housemates were told to tell each other what they like in the other person. The task came up following the rift in the House.

Tobi and his former partner took the audience by surprise as they began to tell each other beautiful things they could see despite their regular quarrels and fights.

Tobi, who was the first to start the conversation, praised Cee-C, telling her how much he believed in her goals and that he still loved her personality.

He said:

“I appreciate your person, I like your drive as a person, I believe in your goals. I still believe you have a big heart and I believe you have genuine intentions.

“That person I used to know is open to corrections and I know you are. Most of the things I learnt in this House came from my interactions with you, both good and bad; but I have learnt a lot.

“And I have become a better person though I am still working on myself. I have really learnt a lot because of you.”

Cee-C, however could not hold back in confessing to Tobi how she admires his intellectual and physical strength.

She said:

“First, I will start from the obvious. I like the fact that you are talented. You have so many talents that I find it amazing that you come out well in all the tasks.

“You are ambitious and cool. You gave me the reason to love myself. Of course, a lot of issues I had in the House were because of you; but in the midst of it all, I found strength in who I am.

“I like the fact that you don’t give up who you are for anything. There is a part of you that wants to get better and I like that about you.”

A man identified as Kazeem Hakeem was allegedly killed by SARS operatives in Ogun State for a crime he was reported not to have committed.

According to a friend of the deceased identified as Dewunmi Lagos, who took to Facebook to narrate the story, the deceased was being tortured by the Federal SARS officers at their office and he tied upside down.

I know kazeem very well, he's one of the most gentle soul I've known. He looks rough but he's so gentle, when we were talking sometime back in 2014 about election he asked me for MTN recharge card and I said he is richer than I am then he dragged my pocket and took the money from me and from there we got talking.

I've met with him at Lagos garage in ijebu ode so many times and he is always hailing me.

He was robed and arrested by FSARS squad, he was tied upside down and was tortured badly to confess what he knew nothing about, when they untied him, on getting down his head was smashed on the floor and he died.

A letter has been forwarded to the secretary to the governor's office (Ibikunle Amosun) and when he got the letter he said today in Ogun state Exco meeting will be for a short while because he wants to be present at the chief judge presiding over the matter today.

The chief judge requested the corpse be brought to the court today and all the officers who arrested him and those who tortured him.

We hope this will be a lesson to other security officers who think they can go Scotfree. Everyday for the thief and one day for the owner.

A man identified as Samson Otuedon has been arrested by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Masaka, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State for currency counterfeiting. He was caught in his possession with about $400,000 of fake currency.

Luck ran out on Otuedon, who specialized in counterfeiting foreign currencies, following an intelligence report on Friday, April 6, 2018 on the activities of a syndicate of fraudsters duping unsuspecting victims in Masaka area of the State.

The Commission, upon receipt of the report swung into action by putting the area under surveillance, an action that led to the eventual arrest of the suspect on Saturday.

On arrest, fake foreign currencies totaling over $400,000 (Four Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) were recovered. While being interrogated, Otuedon admitted that the fake dollars were given to him by other members of his syndicate based in Lagos.

According to him, one of their modus operandi was giving people with genuine dollars part of the fake dollars; that way, it is easily infiltrated into the system.
Otuedon, who confessed to the crime, also admitted that the syndicate use fake dollars for money doubling.

The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

My vehicle (2005 Toyota corolla) air bag light recently came on and stayed on. I tired adjusting the cables under the seats and inspecting them, but its still on. Also tried disconnecting the battery overnight to reset the computer system, the light went off briefly but came back on again. Went to a rewire to ask for his opinion, he said the airbag has expired. I did some research online and found out that airbags don't technically expire though they do have replacement span of 10 - 15years for older cars. Anyone with any ideas as to how to resolve this?

Budding Nigerian singer, Alizee was murdered in cold blood by her husband, Peter Nielsen, a Danish national, in their home in Banana Island, Lagos on Thursday last week.

Since the news of her death his the media, the late singer has been gathering support from every corner and she seems to be more popular in her after-life than when she was alive.

One of the people that believed the singer would have been alive today if she had been supported when she was having her marital crisis was entertainment consultant Kaycee Ichie Oguejiofor who once worked with Alizee.

Popular street singer Small Doctor, whose real names are Temitope Adekunle was accused some few weeks back by an upcoming artiste, Jurji Versal of poisoning his drink in a failed attempt to kill him.

In his post that went viral on social media Jurji Versal, wrote:

“Right from day one, I’ve never seen you as a competition and I always wish you success, but I never knew all you wish for me is death because of envy and jealousy. You guys made several attempts to take my life but God was merciful to me.

“From the day Ebay (Small Doctor’s friend) gave me a poisoned drink at Small Doctor’s house to the day you maneuvered dangerously on high speed in an attempt to crash the side of the car where I was seated (sic). You have failed and it has inspired me to write a song, which will be dropped in the next 48 hours, titled 1000 Friends to foe.”



Small Doctor, in his reaction to the allegation when contacted by Sunday Scoop, said he deliberately kept silent when he heard about the allegations made against him because he knew Jurji Versal was only looking for cheap publicity.

He said;

“All those things you read are false accusations; they are mere rumours. The guy is just looking for cheap publicity. You know he is an artiste as well and he wants to be popular. That is all I can say about it.”

Small Doctor’s manager, Olusegun Raheem, aka Senator, said they were not surprised when their attention was called to the story. He said:

“The guy just wanted attention from people. We didn’t reply him because he didn’t pay us to promote him. No doubt, they used to be friends, but what he has done amounts to defamation of character as he is trying to dent the image of my artiste. That very night he said they wanted to poison him, Small Doctor didn’t even step out of his house.”

On whether Small Doctor would take legal action, he said,

“At the right time, the steps taken will be communicated to the public.”

An Enugu based upcoming rapper, Eche Victor otherwise known has Rappon D’Victor has passed on after battling an undisclosed illness.

The rapper had been in and out of the hospital before he eventually succumbed to his ailment.

His death came as a shock to many of his fans as no one expected Rappon to be the man that would be bedridden for a long time. He was reported to be a very agile man with the goal of becoming a well known rapper across Nigeria.

He has since been buried in his hometown, as his last post on Facebook dated March 10, 2018 read,

Its being a challenging year for me, from one illness to another but i know God got me. Am getting back on my feet and the hustle continues’.

This comes few years after he released a music track titled ‘If I die young’, thus fans have been comparing him to the late rapper, Da Grin who also died shortly after he released a track titled ‘If I die’

The late Rappon’s friends who could not bear the sad news dropped a few condolence messages.

Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Frank Edwards, who is known for a series of hit gospel songs, have taken to Instagram to write an emotional note on when he used to sell the popular meal 'Okpa'.

The singer mentioned that he sold okpa for about 10 years and it was always his breakfast and dinner everyday.

Frank Edwards has since gone far beyond poverty as he is obviously living in luxury now and at the same time having great connections within the society as well as in the gospel music scene. He has had collaborations with lots of international artistes, including top gospel singer Don Moen.

The singer said:

“I thought of releasing an album this year, I changed my mind because if I do, most people would think it is from the 2017 group. I do not want to do that; instead I would rather continue the Rudeboy movement. Why would I release an album and when people listen to it, they begin to have different thoughts?

He then went further to say:

“I struggle with the fact that I want to talk about myself alone but people want me to talk about both of us. As time goes on, it will fade off unless people start reminding me of that. Trust me, I have granted so many interviews and once somebody asks a direct question about the past, I tell them that I cannot answer that.

I just don’t want to live in the past anymore, however, I’m sorry but the music would still be what it was like in the past. Right now, I want to push out my brand and my music which comes out about once every two months. If I release an album, some people would have heartbreak; so there is no need for that. Everything has changed for me even my circle.

I am sorry but my brother Jude is still with me. I cannot change my music except you have $10m to offer me. But if you cannot do so, then shut up and listen to the music.”

He noted that he was not eager to do any collaboration but instead spend his strength and energy in pushing his brand.

“Everybody is good, I do not have a clique and fortunately, I am cool with every artiste, I do not have issues with anybody. Even in the past, it was me that they called if they wanted us to do songs together.

I would rather not work with anybody for now because in the past, we hardly did collaborations. I am not proving anything; all I want to do is have a good idea, do a good song, dish it out to people and they would enjoy it,” Rudeboy said
