Felicity001: Don’t worry it’s good you have an intention to come into the hustle soon I only pray it’s sooner by then you’ll should understand better that things work better than said. By then you should understand it’s wrong to ask your rider on phone weather it’s card or cash trip, by then you would understood it even wrong to ask your rider h/h destination so long it’s not past 9pm by then also you would understand why you as a driver will only Know it’s a card trip just after starting the trip, by then you would understand how painful it is to swallow your pride as a MSc/BSc/B.Eng holder driving some worthless girls call “runs” girls who the only thing they know how to do best is pure the pains they get from all their clients on the guy who chose to do a legit hustle, by then you would understand many more bro by then you will understand.
Start now please I beg you just then will he understand |

Someone ordered for me from Ogudu while i am in Maryland and asked me to drop off an item to Ikate . Though the ride seem appealing but its not a card trip and she promised to transfer whatever amount the ride amounts to when i get to destination, I jejely declined. Any advise for me? is it uber? If not, OYO is your case! |

emmancecute: I was cruising on Hakeem Dickson drive at past 1am being a friday when I got a request from IMAX. Me: good morning, you requested a ride. Rider: yes, I'm in IMAX. Me: where are you going? Rider: abraham adesanya estate Me: ok, I'm coming. Drove to imax and parked, called rider like 4 times but she kept engaging the call. Waited another 3mins then called again and this time she picked. Rider: hello who's this? Me: its ur driver, I called 4 times earlier but you engaged the call Rider: pretending like she didn't see the car.... I didn't see it, it's just this one I saw and I picked. Me: ok, I'm here. Rider: I'm coming I waited 7 more minutes and rider is still not here. In my mind, so I will 15mins in the day and still come and wait 15mins past 1am? Checked around and no sign of rider, I just cancelled. As I drove away, I saw a guy and a lady coming out of the building. One minutes later... Rider called 1st time, I engaged, 2nd time, I engaged, 3rd time, I still engaged. Next thing I saw..... I'm not an as.s licker. I give it to you the way you come, I won't act professional if you misbehave. If you're nice, I'm extremely nice. If you wan fight, I am ready to fight you. If you don't want to talk, you won't hear pim from my mouth. I'm exactly what you are to me. Some will say I didn't act professional but no one has the monopoly to be rude. During my early days in the service, I once beat up a minister's cousin cos he was very rude. This minister can just ask for my appointment letter and tear it into pieces right in my presence cos he is the oga at the top and nothing will happen but I don't care. As far as I'm able to reset that guy's brain then I'm satisfied. Though I won't react the same way I did then cos as I have dependents now but I will still deal with the guy and make sure there's no evidence this time. |

Freshprince91: I took a small BRT ramp which is the only road that leads to TBS from the 3 sections of the road (TBS, Ikoyi & victoria island) and they nabbed me and alleged all sorts of accusations against me. Till today, i still can't believe i let them do that to me because i drove through that axis yesterday and i saw cars passed that same ramp. lol.... I remembered I committed this offence as a newbie and before I knew it, like 5 lastman and 3 policeman were in my front already. Immediately I saw them, I just started laughing and they started laughing too. Las las, we settled it with porc ed tiripse but that was during Ambode time. Bros, you can link TBS without using the BRT lane. Next time, just keep your left and drive slowly, you'll see where to make the turn. Note that I said left and not extreme left, cos extreme left is brt lane. Cheers! |

franksam2009: boss I see nothing wrong with what she said though, and there's nothing wrong with being a taxi driver(after all it's not a permanent hustle) but if you are ashamed of being one then QUIT!!
reason her statement from another angle and you won't find it offensive(although she's wrong for texting you after you guys must hv spoken on phone) but since you found it insulting there's nothing wrong with replying her insult but slut-shaming a person is really bad ok, Don't judge anyone for we humans are all HYPOCRITES oga, I don't regret replying her that way and I 'll do it over again. If you don't see anything wrong it, that's your opinion. I have mine. |

pope191: Boss nice to say you can see through the lens, some can use you are mad on you and you will just laugh it off, same you are mad can lead to stabbing, its all in the context and time ofusage. There is nothing wrong in calling cab man, taxi or any name, but ppl should note just as fashion designer won't accept obioma/tailor same way uber drivers won't accept taxi driver (Just for joke). But one thing I'll lyk Gazzuz to understand is this, you accepted "Mechanic" today, probably because you have made your mark and find fulfillment being one, if you come back to the world again, you will obviously like to come back as one. The only thing I could decode from the text of that lady, was a message sent to spite someone, I am not in place to tell if getting back at her is right or wrong. A rider once sent a text of "it won't b better for her enemy" for declining her ride, me I did not reply cos I count it as an effort in futile, I honestly can't do the job of her parents at dat age. And to even think that she wrote the 'taxi driver in capital letters'. I'm sure the so called intelligent people didn't see that. |

pocohantas: By the way,
I would reallly love to know what part of the average Naija man's brain processes that word- PROSTITUTE. It is usually one of the first resort when they wanna insult a lady. I find it very crass, ghettoish and downright low. Something you should only get from people straight outta the slum. Once someone says that, I strike the person off- not like it matters anyway. Who am I?
The opposite of a taxi driver should actually be a rider/passenger. Someone skips all that and goes straight to PROSTITUTE. Tells more about the person than the passenger. Tbh
When putting people in place, if at all you are very sure they were being CONDESCENDING- there is how it is done with class and tact. One needs to learn this skill, so you don't go exchanging words with every irate customer like an agbero, thus reinforcing the stereotype about drivers.
Madam, have you driven on uber before? |

Me: I'm sorry I can't fix your car today You: But that's why you're a mechanic
Me: I'm sorry I can't fix your leaking pipe today You: But that's why you're a plumber
I can go on and on, but I don't see the insult in that statement. And then calling her a prostitute makes the matter worse.
But then..... What do I know I'm a very reasonable individual, I was online past 12am to work. This is business to me, so profitability is prioritized. The moment her request came in, I called and used ma all through my conversation even till the point I discovered the trip isn't gonna be profitable to me. I noticed the rudeness in conversation but decided to suck it up, Las Las na my money I go collect. The moment I told her the reason why I couldn't make the trip, She got even more aggravated and ended the call with a hiss. So, if I reply in same manner she did, I perfectly understand the context of her words. |

I had wanted to link chevyview estate from the back but saw a gate that barricaded chevyview off pelican which means I'd have to go all the way to igboefon to do a u-turn then head back to Chevyview. Called rider that I can't make the trip due to so and so reasons.... the picture showed what I got but me I don't slack to give the f^ck back
