It is relatively a calm, quiet and safe country.
I didn't go out much, mostly was onboard and guest house before going to the airport but from the little I saw, observed and mostly from what I heard from people I met who have stayed or worked there, it is an extremely poor country. So driving G-wagon will definitely raise eye brow unless you are in the top political class.
It is more or less a closed-ended country in that it is an island, which means regular entry into the country is hard and controlled - by air and sea (the port is heavily monitored from Bata and Cameron).
The president has been in power for ages so spies are everywhere trying to sort out rebels or those planning to topple the government by external actors.
As a caution, don't talk bad about their president nor trying to snoop around digging for informations about the president, political class or the country in general for too much else, they single you out for monitoring codedly. You can't trust those you are talking to if they are the government spies.
During the massacre when some factions were rebelling against the government, the government killed over a 100 thousand and over 1m were displaced to neighbouring Gabon who still love there till today to avoid clampdown.
A friend of mine who I met there who works for another company (he stays in Ibadan) was detained with 2 other of his colleagues just for strolling around and wanted to go to a beach close to the presidential villa with a citizen who was their guide.
The citizen was left alone while they were detained on the charges that they were spies and they used 3 weeks in the cell.
It took several top tier calls and intervention to release them after 3 weeks.
My friend told me many people he met in the prison were detained for flimsy excuses and have been there for long with no hope of being released.
In summary, they are hostile to outsiders, Nigerians a bit higher because of some little past issues we had caused.

If Bata, it is a dirty poor place with little to nothing to do but if Malabo, you will enjoy the place more as rich settler than a hustler because it is a small country.
The island is quiet, serene and lovely to stay if you have money but economically, there isn't much happening there.
Malabo is just as populated as Abeokuta or Ijebu Ode. About 500k to 1m people max.
So you idea of what am saying. The overall market you want to tap into is small.

The Europeans sold captured enemies as slaves also - Romans, Spartans etc.
Arabs were very notorious in selling captured and defeated villages.

I think a bag of rice is around 70k and a family of 4 will consume that atleast a year. So that solves a year long problem, you can now think of solving other problems with the remaining income

Infact, if he was trading future and he’s still able to come up with 38$ after what happened last week, then he’s a good person. 99% of leverage wiped out that day , the biggest liquidation ever in crypto.
Also if he’s into spot (which I doubt ) it’s still possible he lost it because some alts dumped 90% that very day and 99% of those coins have not recovered to that pre-crash point. ( don’t forget that recovering that fresh doesn’t mean profiting sha)😀
