Seun Kuti was just talking about this daysa ago like a prophet...exactly the playbook he talked about. In summary..
1. They encourage you to japa to them
2. They remove the benefits their own folks enjoy... UK, Germany
3. You work for less pay and less benefits.
4. You become the new willing slaves and the hope of japa is lost.
5. Generation of suffering is transferred and in few short decades, the childen of japa becomes the children without home (Nigeria)
6. At the same time, the place those children call home will always see them as migrants and not locals.
7. They elect right wing politicians to push these and create different access for different people

His advice...think and let JAPA be a way to make enough but remember Nigeria is your true HOME.

Try thinking for yourself. A very illogical list. Also, how is Nigeria my home?
Travel / Re: A Nigerian Lady Talks Of Her Cultural Shock In France: by Emmaomotob(m): 2:46pm On Nov 14, 2023
FreeStuffsNG:

Low self esteem is bad.

Those of you suffering from inferiority complex and long history of chronic years of generation to generation poverty background that is so pathological that you think these toilet-stealing countries are "saner clime " and their citizens are better than you should read this.

Thomas Hobbes in Leviathan (1660) expressed his views that "Man's life was solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short." Hobbes inferred that people are naturally selfish and wicked and cannot be trusted. Therefore the primitive or "natural" state of humanity is violent and brutal.

What the lady is experiencing is not culture shock but retrogression and what Thomas Hobbes described as the primitive "solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short" life of an uncivilized man. They will soon be dying out before they reset and now reverse the trend.

Our society is more developed and civilised than their own but those from here or over there who are from very poor inferiority complex background and with poor education won't be able to understand.

Any country where anyone would not look out for the other is destroying the same foundation that built their society. Go and read about sociological perspectives, what is happening in french society is unusual and it's borne out of fear from a sociologically primitive uncivilized society. They are too scared stiff to care and reach out to support one another. They are solitary , btutish and primitive.

Human beings, civilised human beings that belong to civilised societies like ours, are a social creatures, we are not like Leopards or cheetahs that only come together when it's time for sex like the way these prehistoric people are behaving. Check my signature for free stuffs!
Rubbish. Your society more developed? How? You must be very ignorant if you think people care about you in Nigeria. You sound like someone that only watches the developed countries in books. Because people poke their noses into your personal business does not mean that they are willing to help you. Read the story of Porcupines by Schopenhauer. If man is naturally wicked and brutish, it is necessary that each person keeps a healthy distance from the other. Love is superfluous and often dangerous. What's most important is duty. If everyone does their job, the world would be fine. As for meeting to have sex as leopards, that is up for debate as it is foolish (could be lucky) to think a stranger loves you and wants a family. I don't see any other use in women (in relationships) aside sex and I have pondered over and over again.

benuejosh:
An what if what she is saying has nothing to do with her relationship with Taylor?

Any young guy looking to settle down with cuppy must be as rich as her dad otherwise forget it. She has all that she wants or needs to be comfortable without a man. So you must be on the same level with her Dad as a guy to settle down with her.
There is a difference between having more than you need and having more than you want. Many people can easily get more than they need. You cannot observe people from the point of your present reality. Material wealth starts to diminish in value after you have more than you need to be comfortable in a modern society. Then comes popping out other needs that have remained dormant.
Nevertheless, I understand your point. Most women don't know how to respect a man. They either worship or humiliate. They know no middle ground. They think it is their natural right to insult a man, even if he just wants to be a friend or colleague. Thus, the richer a woman is the more obnoxious and overbearing they become. The less a man has to come in contact with women in general, the better it is for him. But what is good is always hard to do.

Countries don't get better just by wishes of citizens

Countries are made better or worse by the actions and policies of political leaders.

This guy should redirect his admonition to APC politicians who successfully drove the economy into the ground year after year since 2015

EDIT: From the comments it appears like APC supporters generally think that whoever did not vote for Tinubu is wishing Nigeria evil.

My advice: stop looking at every issue of life from perspective of Tinubu Vs Obi Vs Atiku.

Whishes are not horses.

You can wish to buy a car and never realize that wish if you don't take action to make it a reality.

Citizens have elected and empowered politicians and their appointees to make policies and enforce the law. There is no amount of citizens wish that will compel NAFDAC to arrest and prosecute a fake drug importer. Dora Akunyili proved that only decisive action can gets the job done and not mere wishes.

If you want real change start calling out those you put in authority else you will keep wishing from now till eternity and things will keep getting worse.

Cheers!
Yeah, that's true. Most people are not as honest as we think they are and most people are not as dishonest as we think they are. You can't blame what a person does out of pure necessity and need to survive on his character. His words are enchanting, but just sophism. You would be shocked at how much patriotism the average Nigerian can show if we had a great leader. Meaningful changes only come from individuals. Only powerful individuals (leaders) can make meaningful changes.

Unsustainable pricing. Govt should stop acting as father Christmas and allow private companies manage things like this. At the end of the year, they'll tell us they lost N10bn of taxpayers' money, because of their poor, unsustainable business model.
Public transportation is social amenity and should not be judged solely on profit and loss. Also the business transactions that result directly and indirectly from an efficient transportation system usually compensates for the loss. It is hard for a private organization to run train network because it is hard to make it profitable, thus leading to inefficiency and bankruptcy. A public-private-partnership is a much better alternative.

Women are too weak, dumb and passive to even control one another, not to talk of egotistic and aggressive men. Just shut up and cook a good meal for your husband.

It's a fact that most of us don't want to agree to. Guess what, reality is a respecter of nobody. For instance, in this country, the vast majority of the citizens think of accumulating wealth for themselves and unborn generations. That's why they loot everything when people are voted into power.

Elsewhere in the world, people are heavily taxed with taxpayers' money given to those who don't have jobs yet and for taking care of the aged and children.

Here, the black man is so selfish that he wants to empty the treasury and keep his own people poor. Tell me how that Black man has a trait of leadership in him. Believe it or not, leadership is not for Black Africans.
The same whites that you're praising produced Hitler and Mussolini. They destroyed Syria, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Lebanon. They put Africans in chains and displayed them in zoos. They invaded South Africa and initiated apartheid. They dropped bomb on Japan and burned Vietnamese kids with napalm, including using their women as prostitutes. They are using Ukraine to launder money and sell weapon, while people blow to pieces. The list is endless. Evil is in human nature, no matter what race you are. How can you just lump people together because they come from a country that they never consented to? Many people seek repose in criticism, but it is never a proof that you are better.

The black Africans don't have the mental capacity to manage power, hence the excessive abuse of it.
To criticize someone is just a subtle way of claiming virtues you don't possess. What makes you better than the average 'black man' on the street? It's a shame to have someone like you as a compatriot.

Life itself is trauma. I have learned to avoid women, even if it kills me. Life is much smoother and richer without them. I have chosen not to marry except there is something tangible I stand to gain from it. Love does not matter to me, as long as I find the person attractive. In the end loyalty and mutual interest keep a relationship longer than love (which should be appropriately referred to as 'bondage'). I have seen the damage marriage does to 'happily married men' and have learned to avoid it like an evil spirit, except I can profit from it. As Sean Stephenson noted, nations that trade with one another rarely go to war.

I know adults who were sent to Nigeria as children to learn ā€œdisciplineā€. They tell of being molested and raped by family members, househelp, and family friends almost as soon as they landed until the time their parents came to collect them. They also tell about going without food while family members spent the money their parents sent for their care on foolish things. The reason they changed when returning to America was because they never wanted to experience the horrors they face in Nigeria again. This is sometimes why the younger generation never visits family in Nigeria and ignore calls for helpā€”they were partially raised in the West and know the things they experienced in Nigeria arenā€™t normal or healthy.
This is someone that has intelligence. Nigerians have linear thinking. If you can't train your child properly, why should you expect someone else to do it for you? Also, it is very stupid to claim moral superiority. If Nigerians were so morally upright, why is the country in a terrible shape? The trans agenda is not even absolute in the West, a lot of people are pushing back on it. To deny your child the best environment for self development is the most stupid thing a parent can do.
Looking back at my childhood, I can rarely justify any punishment I received from my parents. Most parents beat their children for raising their voice and challenging their opinion and then wonder why they become failures in life. Beating a child does not make them understand better. Empathy, living by example, and a little rebuke go further. Beating a child only makes them docile, obedient and fearful, if not traumatized. The most important thing is the relationship you have with your child.

You canā€™t beat or even scold or shout at your kids
Your kids are a target for being black as they will be stereotyped as being susceptible to assault by the parents
Men are the last on the scale of women, kids, animals, plants and then men
You will work like your life revolves around that and only be considered moderately rich if you convert the untaxed income to naira

I can go on and on.

As per the person that said they took the boy to Nigeria for two years and then back to the UK, the boy is gonna be worse than Naira Marley at the end cos the PTSD of the horror at Command school will haunt him for life and he will use joining a gang as a coping mechanism

Stay in Nigeria and beat ur kids well ošŸ˜
You are what you think you are. If you consider yourself last on the scale, you surely are. But pragmatically speaking, the life of a married man is servitude. Except you are a multimillionaire, you are sure to give away your best years for a woman and her kids. In Europe they take away your assets, in Africa you are destroyed by economic attrition. Whether its Europe or Africa, your woes are the same. Yet you can never be appreciated by a woman, who is always quick to remind you what your neighbor bought for his wife. When money goes, respect flies out of the window for you as a man. Happiness is the luxury of the single, but the grass is always greener on the other side.

For me, I think a Nigerian or African should allow their kid grow up a little over there then send him down to Nigeria or their respective African country to do secondary school under the tutelage of their grandparents.

Yes, I know that grannies may not be as tough on the grandkids as they were on their own direct kids, but the training they'll get plus the African sense will be a lot better than what the west has to offer.
You mean sending your child to a substandard Nigerian school will make them better? Also, you are very naive if you are oblivious to the way many secondary students behave nowadays. Also, consider the trauma of having to live in a disorganized society like Nigeria and the ill will the child is likely to harbor for his parents.

Training a child in the Western world is by God's grace.

There was a boy of ours who grew up in the UK and had the bad traits of disobedience. His dad lured him to Nigeria to come have a good taste of culture.

The moment he landed at MMIA, he was whisked to a remote village where his dad gave him a daily dosage of strokes of cane. At first he proved resistant, later he cooperated.

In the long run, he feigned remorse but was secretly taking shots of the wounds he sustained. After sometimes, his dad seeing his calmness, decided that he had learnt his lessons and it was time to go back to the USA.

Believe me, when they got to the UK, the boy tendered all evidences to the security agencies. How the dad escaped prison sentence and deportation is what I didn't know.

African culture still remains topnotch

In the 8yrs of his millitary regime, Sani Abacha never exhibit any element of nepotism in him, when he wanted to create states, he did it in all the zones of the country

He built hospitals in every state of the country

Go to Abuja and ask, his footprint is everywhere
This is a terrible intake by a novice on politics. You are even praising Abacha. Lol. Do you honestly think if there was no military coup in Nigeria, we would be in this current mess? A bunch of illiterate cultureless men without regard for intellectual discussions, who determine right and wrong by who pulls the trigger first cannot make a great nation. Anyone that takes power through force without a reasonable justification must also fear retaliation. This is always the beginning of a downward spiral. Also, to keep such power you must bribe many, repress many and rewrite the constitution to favor you. Since 1999, we have had 2 former heads-of-state as president and they have displayed nothing but incompetence. Nigeria is still struggling from the centralized system that those brutes left us. It's better to be a king in the village than than being a peasant in the city.

If you earn in dollars and also earn good on your regular bank job. You doing better than 60% of Nigerians. And you get to enjoy the slippage different of dollar over naira exchange ā€” as at today naira to a dollar is 820 in the black market.

Just invest wisely here and you would be good. Even if you do bad in investment, your constant dollar earning would afford you the opportunity to try out other opportunities.

On the flip side, when you eventually japa and begin to earn say 3000 dollars monthly, there are taxes to be paid and other expenses and in the process, you will be slow to build wealth, it will take you years compared to when you in Nigeria enjoying the Naira dollar slippage difference.

If you single, finding a wife there would be difficult except you japa-ing with your wife.

Oga stay back and secure your future here, save in dollars, invest with naira and stay ahead of the market here.
So he should stay in Nigeria because of a woman? Lol. Dumbest idea ever. One needs a great nation to achieve great dreams. Elon Musk left South Africa for Canada and eventually moved to USA. If its true he earns that amount of money and has a good job experience, he'll be able to have a soft landing abroad. Do you think that any good thing can come out of Nigeria? I know how degrading the pride that comes from being better than most people around you is, but a great fighter seeks great opponents. You can easily save his useless salary here in the UK, as long as you don't despise little beginnings and live within your means. A lot of people that should have moved to abroad decades ago were also slaves to their so called salary.

Lastly, it is a shame that you adviced him to stay in Nigeria so that he can get married. This is the mentality of low class people without a will-to-meaning. A man should never relate with a woman because of where he is, but what he is becoming. A lot of great men have made this same mistake. Most women never improve themselves and you end up with someone that cannot cope with your level of greatness.

Marriage is propaganda. They only show us smiling pictures. They never show us the deteriorating looks of their wives, and the increasing yearly bills she and her kids (whose paternity is always in doubt) continue to incur. There is nothing more unfortunate than to be a married man. You end up paying more for a product (woman) that keeps deteriorating every year. Woman is the biggest tax men pay.

U must be very lucky to be among this age brackets.

That is because most of us who just clocked 40 or above can not reverse the hands of nature.

However, this the time and age when u should have nothing to do with laziness especially the men amongst u, hustle, work smart and hard if possible, do not cheat to enrich yourselves... it will backfire badly.

Save money, this is one crucial area that most of us don't keep up with. Many see this as the biggest task ever and like I have written in one of my writes up here, it was the money I saved during my early age as a student and during my service year that has made me what I am today. Save to invest, without savings u can't invest.

Avoid friends who only take from u, there is a motive in every relationship except for the needy among us, any relationship that is one sided and takes more from u...brothers and sisters, pls run oh.

Education is good but learn a handiwork, it is essentially important, especially a trade. U can never go wrong in it. Most igbo guys have demystified these areas and have hit it big time. The situation in the country has forwarned us that, there is not future for many in 8-5 jobs these days as most guys wished they had learnt a trade before now. After NYSC many of u will understand what I am trying to say.

Have a target, there is no rich man without a target, in fact, every organisation has its own target which they intend to achieve within a given time.

Learn to discuss ur plans with ur parents and see how far u can go...but in all, plan your life adequately

Take risk...it is very important u engage yourself in business that is profitable and risky at times and this will help u to be smart and better in any engagement u find yourself. To add to this, i have never seen or heard any rich man that has not lost money but there are many countless poor men and women who have never lost money, hence their poverty.

Finally, plan your life early and live a good live afterwards.

Good luck.
What do you mean by especially men? Some people just disgust me. It is not my duty to provide for a woman or to have a family. I believe men can live at least a bearable life without women. Women only bring need, worry and poverty to a man. Blessed is he that needs no woman, for only him alone can enjoy this life. But that is easier said than achieved. It pains me that the only thing I need a woman for is sex, yet it is a force that cannot be easily controlled. I have never liked them. I do not wish to hate them, I just don't want to desire them. I wish I could kill my sexual urge and see women for who they are, as burden and thieves. I only speak of relationships, not as fellow citizens, I have no problem with them. They are the shortcut to poverty and only exist to waste a man's life. The only advise I have for men is to avoid intimate relationship with them as much as possible. To have a woman is to pay off a loan on money you have not borrowed. That 30000 naira phone you bought for her that her artificial head does not appreciate is not her right, use it to improve yourself. I know your hormones are high, but deign to see her for what she is - a useless, burdensome liability.
