ibechris: U must be very lucky to be among this age brackets.
That is because most of us who just clocked 40 or above can not reverse the hands of nature.
However, this the time and age when u should have nothing to do with laziness especially the men amongst u, hustle, work smart and hard if possible, do not cheat to enrich yourselves... it will backfire badly.
Save money, this is one crucial area that most of us don't keep up with. Many see this as the biggest task ever and like I have written in one of my writes up here, it was the money I saved during my early age as a student and during my service year that has made me what I am today. Save to invest, without savings u can't invest.
Avoid friends who only take from u, there is a motive in every relationship except for the needy among us, any relationship that is one sided and takes more from u...brothers and sisters, pls run oh.
Education is good but learn a handiwork, it is essentially important, especially a trade. U can never go wrong in it. Most igbo guys have demystified these areas and have hit it big time. The situation in the country has forwarned us that, there is not future for many in 8-5 jobs these days as most guys wished they had learnt a trade before now. After NYSC many of u will understand what I am trying to say.
Have a target, there is no rich man without a target, in fact, every organisation has its own target which they intend to achieve within a given time.
Learn to discuss ur plans with ur parents and see how far u can go...but in all, plan your life adequately
Take risk...it is very important u engage yourself in business that is profitable and risky at times and this will help u to be smart and better in any engagement u find yourself. To add to this, i have never seen or heard any rich man that has not lost money but there are many countless poor men and women who have never lost money, hence their poverty.
Finally, plan your life early and live a good live afterwards.
Good luck. What do you mean by especially men? Some people just disgust me. It is not my duty to provide for a woman or to have a family. I believe men can live at least a bearable life without women. Women only bring need, worry and poverty to a man. Blessed is he that needs no woman, for only him alone can enjoy this life. But that is easier said than achieved. It pains me that the only thing I need a woman for is sex, yet it is a force that cannot be easily controlled. I have never liked them. I do not wish to hate them, I just don't want to desire them. I wish I could kill my sexual urge and see women for who they are, as burden and thieves. I only speak of relationships, not as fellow citizens, I have no problem with them. They are the shortcut to poverty and only exist to waste a man's life. The only advise I have for men is to avoid intimate relationship with them as much as possible. To have a woman is to pay off a loan on money you have not borrowed. That 30000 naira phone you bought for her that her artificial head does not appreciate is not her right, use it to improve yourself. I know your hormones are high, but deign to see her for what she is - a useless, burdensome liability. |

Politics › Is Tinubu Planning For His Political Demise? by Emmaomotob(op): 10:09am On Jul 19, 2023 |
After removing several subsidies that are the lifeblood of many Nigerians, Tinubu has managed to plunge the country into a depression. His acts were so brazen and shocking that it could either be the ramblings of a maniac or the outset of a grand plan of a political genius. People decided to stick with the later, because the former was too painful to imagine. One liter of petrol for 532.5 naira! Ridiculous. Yet, as the days pass by, it is becoming clearer that this geriatric guy has no plan for the country. He has had 8 years to plan for his presidency, yet his only plan is to give 8,000 naira, which he has since withdrawn and replaced with rice and beans (and maybe agbado).
More people are starting to realize that he might not be smart after all. The arrest of Emefiele is perhaps just political revenge. The floating of currency is probably an attempt to halt the exodus of Nigerians abroad. And the removal of oil subsidy is an attempt to make Dangote refinery profitable (as the government justify paying subsidy to him and he cannot make profit at the current price). Tinubu is probable an opportunist that stole the glory that rightly belongs to Fashola. His body language does not indicate a man that has vision and the 8,000 naira insult reveals the depth of his character and intellect.
Most Nigerians have to bow their heads in humiliation and shame when they consider what is going on in Nigeria. It is hard to attach the word 'Nigerian' to yourself without feeling defiled. Tinubu has broken the unwritten social contract that exists between Nigerians and politicians - steal but leave subsidy untouched. 'Our son' politics does not work in the southwest, thus, I wonder how this man plans to survive the political storm awaiting him when he's discovered to be a spoof. |

It is about time this is addressed and my man Professor Georgewill will not brook such nonsense. A normal and psychologically healthy female naturally seeks attention from males by embodying her sexual nature. While a male seeks to attract beautiful women by being physically fit, wealthy and having status. The girl's behavior is an expression of a fully integrated female who is confident and comfortable with being a sexual organism and is happy to be desired and to desire. If you have not learnt this after living a furtively long live, you probably don't deserve a brain between your skull. |

J3susFr3ak: I agree with you that when all things break lose, it is the people, not the system that fail. You gave good examples of the communists and nationalists from a Chinese context to infer that despite their differing systems, they are both thriving. So there must be something about the very people of China themselves and their nature to be able make any system work for them.
China's slight advantage too here is that they are mostly homogeneous Han Chinese -- and even here you still find very tragic stories about the Han Chinese trying to impose a Han hegemony over other subgroups (eg, the people from the Xinjian province, the Tibetans and the people from Inner Monogolia etc.,,) These minority subgroups within China have been forbidden from speaking or teaching their own native languages apart from Han Chinese or even dressing in a different way.
Some would still argue that even within the rivaling economic models--Taiwan's economy is much more sustainable and progressive compared to the way the CCP has been managing their economy (take a look at China Observer Youtube Channel etc.,)
I also agree with you too that the current system in Nigeria is too centralized--and the massive abuses and evil that can be done with such a model was taken to quite a climax by Buhari's dangerous policies. A lot of decentralization needs to happen but at the moment the states are broken into so many small non-viable pieces that you still need to have some kind of collective decision by certain states to decide if they would want to join together to create a new sub-region. That was the point I was going after in my last post.
With regards to the points about the how the British system keeps reaping from the current Nigerian structure as it is....I think you will be surprised that this is how Capitalism works. Billions of Dollars still flows from even developed economies like Canada, the United States and Australia to fund the British Pension Fund. For instance when there was a massive oil spill off the Gulf of Mexico that affected beaches in the US--UK owned ShellBP (I think) had to pay a massive compensation to the localities around those American beaches and it was said that would affect the taxes from their home governments that would have been used to fund the British Pensions.
A lot of land in Canada is said to be "Crown Land" (much to the anger of indigenous native people there). But I would dare say that the British Royal family still gets some royalty one way or the other from all these landed assets.
In a way, the Nigerian experiment was not so different from the Indian experiment with the British East India Company competing with the Dutch to have the biggest and richest trading companies of their time--for long periods of time--controlling whole nations. Overall, I would say the whole colonial adventure was a mixed bag--some good, with lots of bad. How the nation chooses to proceed is not the fault of the British anymore. The elites within the Nigerian system have to show their ability to be mature, sit down and negotiate a reasonable and peaceful decentralization. But greed will never allow them to. The big question is, how do you have patriotic citizens? Mere cultural homogeneity does not explain this, else we would have genuinely successful regions in Nigeria. It would surprise you how many British citizens are willing to loot their country into oblivion. Humans are by nature very selfish and sadistic. A functional society is the product of centuries of failures, and generally blood sacrifice is necessary to make a nation. A child born into a nation that he knows his father or uncle paid the ultimate price for is more likely to be patriotic and self-sacrificing than one whose country was drawn on a piece of paper for maximum looting. In the same vein, there is nothing more dangerous for the formulation of a prosperous nation than a civil war, because of the bitter after effects and possibly of its further exploitation by unscrupulous politicians. It is identity that brings pride. Pride brings loyalty and desire for self-sacrifice. Self-sacrifice makes a nation great. What do Nigerians have to identify with? Without identity, no great nation is possible. Man is a psychological animal. |

J3susFr3ak: But the UK is made up of well defined nations with well defined boundaries who have chosen to be a union. I have listened to the Scots bitterly deride the English and the English doing the same in return. Despite the differences they respect each other's boundaries and seem to think on a macro economic level--it is better for them to cooperate and be part of that union at the moment.
Nigeria needs that too. The only drawback is that in contrast to the Uk which has only 3 or 4 large homogeneous ethnic nations--Nigerian ethnic groups run into the hundreds. The crisis can still be averted if each ethnic group votes or chooses whom they want to align and be with then when they reach a certain size in population and area--they can present a common political and economic front.
It is easier developing competitive advantages from the ground up if each area is challenged to build their skills and resources for export**. That is better compared to the way everything is centralized in a very self-serving winner takes all model.
**Do you know how much pork China consumes every single year? They have humongous pig farms and yet those are not even enough for their population. Any Nigerian state or area that decides to rear quality pigs in the millions purely for Chinese export will have a very reliable foreign exchange earner thee. The nationalists and communists fought brutal wars for decades over ideology. Today both Taiwan and China are doing well economically. It is the people, not the system that fails. Nevertheless, our present system is too centralized and encourages kowtowing and sycophancy and needs decentralization. But who will bell the cat? There are too many people enjoying the system as it is, as there is no injustice that people cannot bear as long as they are made to believe they have a voice (democracy). Corruption is too entrenched in the Nigerian system and only a group of forward thinking patriots can save the country. But is Nigeria a country to begin with? Even its constituent parts don't have well established historical recordings and thus a genuine sense of identity. Nigeria is a country that is ruled by people who knew when she was an infant and thus have no reverence for her. Nigeria is just an idea born out of need for organized and extremely profitable exploitation and handed over to those that look like us to continue exploiting for the British while being protected by western amunition. Peaceful transition of power is a farce. It is the system that determines the people. How can the people reform a system that doesn't belong to them and that was essentially created for ease of looting? |

But as I said earlier, it's my opinion and poor man opinion no dey matter 😂😂😂😂 By demolishing the apartment, he develops a chain of jobs, that would enrich those involved. He also creates jobs by building a new home. Also, when it comes to real estate, location is the most important factor, thus, he can't select just any location. Properties that are worth much more than his get demolished every year to give room for new ones in the United States, because they are located in prime locations. Also, he is never going to become poor, because his image is enough to earn him millions every year for the rest of his life. The problem with his decision is purely ethical. There is no doubt that he doesn't need a new home, as his house is more than sufficient for his needs and rational wants, but definitely not for his overblown ego. The money could have been used to assist those that are genuinely struggling in the world. diesel86: I am not overtly concerned about those who are not really skilled migrating (sorry to say they would not be mostly missed).
My concern is regarding Skilled professionals who possess specialized knowledge and expertise that are crucial for various sectors, such as healthcare, engineering, and technology.
When they leave the country, their absence creates a significant void in these fields, leading to a scarcity of highly skilled workers. Consequently, Nigeria may struggle to address complex challenges and innovate within key sectors, stifling its overall development potential.
Addressing the negative impact of emigration requires a multi-faceted approach which I am not sure the government is equiped to implement or have the political will to confront. The problem with Nigeria is not the dull people, they know their place. The problem with those that conceive themselves as intelligent, but are not. You mean that emigration of intelligent people is not a problem, as long as they are not highly skilled? How can there be highly skilled individuals in a country with low IQ? How sure are you that those that do not have specialized skills will not thrive in an enabling environment? What is most important in a society is not specialization, but intelligence and thoughtfulness. |

BreconHills: I completely agree with you but no one should panic. Whether we like it or not, the world is now a global market place and the only limiters are demand and skill sets. No one can stop that. Indians are now trooping enmasse to Australia and that country, New Zealand, Dubai are seeing increased immigration by UK professionals. A lot of British people are also moving to France.
What your excellent piece does ignore is the large number of "nomads" People who have licence to work from anywhere including Nigeria. This is the group with sustainable growth. Many Nigerians in this category work in two places - many prefer to spend 50-40% of their time in Nigeria due to personal reasons.
When you read NL and hear people baying about leaving the country. These are either people whose qualifications and experiences are not global and they are re- training furiously or they are under qualified people. Private enterprises will ramp up the last category ( if they are humble enough). These are guys and dolls that can't write a simple straightforward sentence and who have poor communication skills with BIG ambitions. God will help them.
Nigeria diaspora remittances will be useful for financing this last group and once diaspora find they can put in and exit funds easily they will start importing investments.

Politics › Re: Households Under Pressure As New Electricity Tariff Due July 1 by Emmaomotob(m): 2:15pm On Jun 19, 2023 |
Flets: Before we all get carried away with the media propaganda, here are the summary of Tinubu's government to date:
1. Fuel subsidy is removed and you will buy fuel for 500 to 900naira per liter (depending on the exchange rate). The savings will be looted like that of kerosene and diesel. There will be no commensurate succor/ palliative for your suffering. Instead of going after the subsidy thieves and stopping the smuggling across boarders, they have transferred the responsibility to the helpless Nigerian people.
2. Naira has been devalued (though they call it floating). The FG has handed over the exchange to the market forces where speculators and banks are king. Naira continues to fall in the I/E and parallel market. Anybody who tells you Naira will appreciate is a joker, for a corrupt country like ours, the banks and speculators are the new cabal and will drive the rates how they deem fit. Don’t believe…. Just observe. What most don’t get now is that CBN now has no obligation to provide FX at a particular rate to the market, as such the new FG players can access FX from CBN without noise.
3. FG funding for tertiary education has been removed. Students will pay upwards of 400K tuition fee starting next session. A lot of students will drop out and cannot complete their education anymore. The so-called student loan will be almost impossible for an average student without connection to access. Guess what happens to the savings from this funding…. To be looted by the same people who have impoverished the nation.
4. Electricity tariff have been increased (without increased production) and will take effect from July 1st. This is a death knell to small and medium scale businesses. You are now stuck between the devil (PMS at 550naira per liter) and the blue sea (extra expensive electricity tariff).
5. All the FG has done so far is abandon almost all responsibilities it has over the people through the bills being signed since May 29. All Tinubu has done is to make available funds to be shared by him and his goons at the expense of the people. Not a single bill or action aimed at ameliorating the suffering of the already downcast Nigerian people rather adding to the pain in the guise of elitist policies
6. Guess what…. None of these policies have any impact on the political class and they have not made a single sacrifice. Same old political criminals are back in power, Gbaja, Akume, Asari Dokubo etc and you expect any real change apart from increased suffering?. How do you expect Tinubu to pay back the these same criminals who supported him into power?
Nigerians…. Suffer no dey tire una? A responsible government does not only talk about long term, just like a sane person does not only talk about the food he is going to eat in the future. Removing subsidy of a product that is hard to monitor is smart. Stopping the fraud of multiple exchange rates is not a terrible idea. But what are the short term palliatives to ensure people do not sink into absolute poverty? Also, what concrete plan does he have to present to Nigerians after making such drastic moves? I personally do not see an end in sight for the woes of Nigeria. Nigeria was created out of thin air. It is the byproduct of western occupation and exploitation and has no valid justification for its existence. It is pride that brings loyalty. Loyalty makes a country great. How can you be loyal to a fabricated country? |

From the look of things, you will know it is state-sponsored. Directly from the government. They are grooming kids into LGBTQ, and the first stage is this, by first sexualizing them. Then next, they start manipulating them at young age into believing they are in the wrong body.
Sometimes i just dont getit. What is the hidden agenda behind this evil movement called LGBTQ? And why is the western leaders so keen and serious about enforcing it on anyone and everyone. They claim it is not by choice but they were born that way, so why trying so hard to convert others who werent born that way, why trying to push it down the throat of our kids into being like them? I thought they said they were born that way, but they are trying to groom others not born that way to be like them. Why always trying so hard to publicised themselves, to force it down our throat, to display themselves right into our faces. For group of people crying about denial of right, don't they think they are encroaching and trespassing on our right too?
I pity those who see these foreign countries as heaven. Especially our politicians that love running to them for validation and political endorsement. Soon enough, they will start forcing our government to allow our kids here in Africa to start wearing opposite gender clothes. Boys will start wearing skirts and girls will start dressing like boys. And if we refuse signing it into law, their usual sanctions will rain down on us. You should worry more about your constituency leaders that steal all your wealth. |
