Most peep forget that marriage is build on TRUST.
That TRUST is not a right, it is earned .
The OP will have over-looked what his wife is doing for long, until things got to this level.
Imagine budgeting 30k of of his 40K salary, just for madam to inflate the price until their in noting left to spend.
And the-same man will be expected to pay Rent, school fees, and other bills. |

kasiem: I have always come across this saying, "what a man can do, a woman can do better" insinuating that men are not stronger than women. But, it still baffles me why many bodies in this universe still make special to protrest that weakness of women, when they've said that are not weak. We have laws against molestation and ra-ping of women, while, there are no such laws for the male folk. There's a punishment for men who beats their wives and we dont have such punishments for women who beats their husbands. Since, there's law guiding women from ra-pe, shouldn't there be law protecting men from seduction? There are many health laws in favor of the women folk without a single one for the male folk. Due to some gender based policies, women are no longer getting employment through merit, rather, they're getting it based on gender equality. since all human beings are equal, there should be equal treatment for all human beings. It is influenced by FEMINISM. Why do the media make so much noise when men cheat and keep quiet when women cheats. Those FEMINIST even claim both genders are equal, just to appease themselves. |

coogar: i am very sure you bagged a professorship in hypocrisy. so i should not judge nigerian marriages by western law when we have fully adopted their practises. why do you practise the religion they brought to your doorstep in africa? why do you wear jeans? you should be covering your honour with pawpaw leaves. . . .like your ancestors!
why do you speak their language? why do you use their technology? why the heck won't i judge nigerian marriages by western laws? so you actually feel the way women are mistreated in nigeria is normal? by now, the education and exposure we have had should be reflecting in our society. so it's a shame that this man is complaining about 500 naira in 2011. he belongs to the stone-age.
over amounts less than $5, they don't. the money this husband is screaming about will not even get you a meal at mac donalds. what sort of husband is he? and yet, he wouldn't mind spending $500 in a strip club or the various whorehouses in lagos.
what has prenuptial got to do with police escorting you out of your own house if there's trouble at home? prenuptial ko, pre-nautica ni.
financial management of 500 naira change, 400 naira change, etc. this husband is a disgrace to manhood.
we are talking about his wife here, not the housegirl. she is the mother of his children. pray tell. . . .what does he think the woman does with the extra she keeps to herself? she definitely spends it on herself to look good. shouldn't that make the man happy? my happiness as a husband is incomplete without making my wife look good.
the compliments i get from my friends about her looking good will complete my joy. that is my wife, my life partner. this husband shouldn't be married at all if 500 naira makes so much difference to him. i repeat, he's a wuss, a moaner, a cry-baby! LOL, you really surprise me, So have you ever heard the word JURISDICTION? The most EU countries use the-same currency, technology e.t.c is their Marriage Laws the-same?NO. Meddle Eastern countries speak the-same Language, practice the-same religion. Is their Marriage Laws the-same? NO Marriage is a legal contract and your Western Laws don't go beyond their various countries. Imagine MAMA IYABO tying to evicting BABA IYABO because it is done that way in US. When their is no legal backing for it.In Nigeria the man keep all his asset after divorce . In US it is 50-50 (except their is a contrary legal agreement). So why judge Nigeria marriages by your WESTERN LAW. |

coogar: he is a wuss - a crybaby, a moaner, an inconsiderate husband. his money, his money - it's their money. 2 became 1 the day they walked the aisle. this bush man mentality only exists in nigeria where the man barks every second "my" "my" "my". in marriage - it's "our" "our". if he's not ready to share, he should have remained single.
i am not speaking because of the married women boasting here. i just think this issue is no issue at all - that's my opinion. husband/wife matter - every penny belongs to the both of them. it's a relationship not a dictatorship!
you probably married in the 80s, long before mandela got his freedom so marriage is imprisonment for you. may you be delivered from the shackles.
it's the naija mentality in you. where men turn themselves into demi-gods and tyrants and you think that should be the norm. notice the people who are on the same side as me are all staying abroad. an environment where women are empowered and the husband knows marriage is a 2-way street.
if these wives make trouble, the husband is the one that would be escorted out of the house by the police until the wife is comfortable with him around.
if you make trouble for your partner, you are the one that would be bruised, beaten and sent back to your parents house. so no one is painting a rosy picture here. the women are just telling you as it is. in 2011, if your husband still harasses you over 1000 naira, then you are probably in the wrong marriage. beware! LOL, Now i know you are one of those WESTERNIZED NIGERIANS who seems to know more then the Oyinbos. It is a pity you now Judge Nigerian Marriages by your Western Laws. Nonsense. The White Man(rich,middle-class and poor) your are praising here also barks, when their wife inflate their spending.Yes they do. You also forget to tell us that your White Men now sign Prenuptial before getting married, meaning his assets are intact in case things fall apart. Financial management is a serious issue in marriages world-wide which usually leads to divorce , so it is not limited to Nigeria. Their is no Utopia in marriage, stop bashing people according to your views. |

she meant she should be made to be in charge of the money she was given in the first place. she's not talking about the man's bank accounts.
it is not wrong! the money cannot turn itself into food. some time, some energy, some sweats and some skills have been added into the equation to make that food. what's going to pay for that?
if he's not capable of marrying, he should stay single and continue to squander his money @ mamaput! mamaput will not pinch his money. at the end of the day, he would be saving more spending his money at mamaput, isn't it? coogar: keep your eye on the ball. the original poster did not say the wife is in control of the finance. she gets it bit by bit from the husband. maybe you should go and read his opening comment. Man i was not quoting the original poster, i was replying armyofone who said "she is a wifey and as such be made to be in charge of the money " you are making your own argument. if the man is complaining, then he should bloody the chores himself. better still get a housemaid(free of charge)he can trust - at least that cuts the wife completely out of the loop. Nobody is talking about bloody chores here. If a man makes budgets for his spending and his wife decide to inflate the price of her purchases for selfish reasons. It is wrong. And if the money is not enough to do other things you will be the first to insult the man here.you should stop being inconsiderate! Money don't grow on trees. That is the reality for you. |
Family › Re: Wife Financial Insincerity by emmatok(m): 11:11pm On Nov 23, 2011 |
coogar: except that is actually the most common trend. most women are full housewives in nigeria. the issue of food is the responsibility of the husband from the mega cities like lagos to the villages of zamfara. the husband must provide the money for food. how the food gets to the table is not the man's business.
we chastise these women when they don't make the house clean, we abuse them and their parents when they don't cook very well and yet we still scrutinize how they spend the money? what the crap is that? if you ask this moaning husband to go to the market, haggle prices with those shrewd market women for hours in that searing heat and buy foodstuffs, transport the food home and convert it from the raw product to finished product, he would be complaining he's the man of the house and the men don't cook. but he can complain how the money is being spent.
he cannot have it both ways. if he wants to complain about the money, let him cook, scrub, wash and clean. LOL, are you saying Nigerian men give their wife charge over their money. THAT IS NOT COMMON.? Don't be deceived GFs do all those things(wash, clean, cook bla bla bla) you talk about and their men still controls the money he give them. If the man is giving out his money he has the right to complain. That is reality for you. Stop dreaming. |

debosky: I still don't get all of this excuse making - even if the man is aka gum that is no excuse for brazen dishonesty!
Let's call a spade a spade.
I don't see anything that is making the woman look like a 'pain or inconvenience'. Even if he calls it 'his money' - is that now license to steal?
Is it not the same 'his money' that was used to buy the bb touch and to make her hair every two weeks? Is it not the same 'his money' that he's planning to buy her a car with?
The man is making sacrifices for his wife, and he is justified in being careful in giving her access to funds because of this dishonest attitude. If she is already abusing his trust in the 'mere 600 naira', what will happen with bigger amounts?
Not one of you women is saying that the woman's behaviour should be stopped first and foremost, you're saying the man should be free with her first so she'll stop stealing.
It's like saying everyone should open their gates wide for robbers to come in - once they do that, there'll be no more reasons for thieves to rob.
The OP does not agree with joint account - many women don't agree either. The fact that he has decided to exercise overall control over finances in the home is no reason for any woman to steal.
You say the man has a wrong mentality towards money - what about the woman who is habitually lying to her husband just to get more money?? Is her attitude right?
Interestingly enough, NOT ONE OF YOU WOMEN has commented on the most crucial aspect of things here TRUST!!
If a man can't trust his own wife to tell him the truth about prices, how can they build trust? My BROV, This is one of the ironies of Marriage, women expect their men to do the working while they do the spending. You will be surprised that the OP's wife has never bought anything(small undies) for her hubby since they got married not even from the money she is stealing. All she does is collect collect collect . Hand over your bank account to your wife she will spend all the money on the children and her-self and forget that the man exist. NA the man come suffer for marriage haba Make them go marry rich men now!!! like say e easy ti marry rich man for Nigeria. |

At RepublicReport.com, we stand against the prevailing terror-based culture of Islamic-Extremists in Northern Nigeria, doing our part to defend, peace, justice, freedom & self-determination of all nations-states. From the get go, Nigeria is a country built on false foundation and no stranger to terror and bloodshed.
Since 1945, the Islamic-Extremists in the northern region have killed, maimed and looted the land of its resources, bombing villages, towns and cities that dared protest against past and present injustices.
From 1967 to 1970, Terrorist-extremists killed over 3 million Igbo-Nationals as the Igbo made a valiant effort to establish a separate-democratized-society, free of violence and hatred, the Republic of Biafra. The bombings and violence continue today, thought most of the western industrialized countries have paid little attention until the attempted destruction of a Delta Airlines on December 25—Christmas (2009) by Terrorist-Umar Mutallab, reminded the world of the danger that that we all face in the hands of Arab-Expansionists, and the danger that lies in this region.
With this website and news service, we hope to draw attention to some of the longest-running and longest-lasting crimes against humanity in that part of the world. We invite all to do their part to bring these people to justice and put an end to the killings and violence being committed against world peoples, including Nations-States inside Nigerian-State.
