CareerRe: How Much is a Good Salary in Nigeria? by emmydee(m): 6:30pm On Apr 02, 2007
Well, most Nigerians dont earn a living income and they are not aware of it. One should earn at least N150k monthly to begin to say he is ok. Anything short of that, men, find ur level, thats for those of you who are employees.

egoldman,
u know all these banks, when you are opening an account with them, certainly u wont see all that info. Thats ok. But why didnt they inform me when they started.I had been pumping money into that account and when this kind of thing happens, I do not take note. I sure will sue UBA.If thats how they make money, thats fraud!
BusinessRe: United Bank For Africa Steals Money From Depositors Accounts by emmydee(op): 4:23pm On Apr 02, 2007
No, they did not. I opened this account in 2003, they were not doing this. I think it's not been long they started it but it's very wicked.I was not told about this useless policy before my money was taken, and thats stealing.

Hey members, are u aware that UBA steals money from your accounts? Well, I found out a few weeks ago. I deposited (by myself) 200K in my UBA savings account, 4 days later, I requested for my statement and found out I had been duped of N1,044. When I approached the bank manager, I was told they take N5 from every N1000. I told him I only made a deposit, not withdrawal and he insisted that it is UBA policy. That's stealing! Thats the only bank I know of that charges a customer for depositing money in his/her own account. Please, take a good look at your accounts with UBA and find out how much you've lost.On the contrary, someone paid in money to my other account with another bank (name withheld), when the transaction could not reflect fast, I beckoned on the bank staff to "hasten up, afterall they charge for this service" but she said "No oh, WE don't charge, we only charge C.O.T at the end of the month and that applies to current accounts only".
UBA STEALS MONEY!
PoliticsRe: Lagos Gubernatorial Debate by emmydee(m): 6:25pm On Mar 27, 2007
My good people of Lagos State, let us not run our individual campaigns for our candidates on nairaland. I watched that debate myself.

Femi Pedro
: I was at the coliseum the day pedro was hosted in Grand House Reception (GHR).I was shocked the way this man acts. He is not a politician and as such, he simply is not fit to rule Lagos, period. Pedro is too soft for this job, he should go back to banking. He may have good ideas, but all those in government tend to abandon their promises the moment they get in there, so am not moved. I do not want to campaign for anybody but Otumba Pedro made a mistake during the debate by asking Jimi Agbaje a rather unnecessary question. This is comfirmed by the way Jimi floored him by informing him about his (Jimi"s) triumph in business including the fact that he (jimi) is the founding Director of GT Bank in which Pedro himself was an employee! Pedro should have remembered all that before asking Jimi about the less than 20 employees thing.

Fashola:This gentleman did not really want to contest but we all know the role His Excellency played in in bringing him aboard. He is not very aggressive but certainly better than Otumba Pedro in terms of composure. That said, I think he stands a better position to be governor as his godfather is the incumbent. Fahiola is improving by the day anyway.

Koro: He is a politician. Very strong minded. But PDP is not a sincere party at all.Koro may have good ideas but his party is not it. Koro has the statue of good leadership even as I don't want him in power. Koro was almost floored by Fashiola at the debate.

Agbaje: Jimi has good leadership qualities but his party is a very small party. Jimi Agbaje has good composure and I think this guy is ok. He however will have a hard time getting to the state house in May.Am not campaigning for anyone though.

In summary, this time around we should be able to access these leaders and tell them what we want. We have been in the cold for too long. Whoever wins the election should be answerable to Lagosians. We must find a way of making the listen to us.So cast your votes and get ready for action after May 29, 2007.
Thanks.

Francis Agu, another loss to Nollywood. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

This guy has been off the screen for a long time, the very next thing one could hear about him is his death, why? Well, God knows the best.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Ufos Are Real by emmydee(m): 5:28pm On Dec 11, 2006
This is a very interesting topic for me as Geographer. UFOs are real! I have done a lot of enquiry on this. However, what I dont understand is how human beings are able to hold them down. I have been made to understand that they are higher beings having been created by God many thousand or millions of years b4 humans.(remember our own story says "in d beginning God created heaven & earth") God had created another universe b4 creating ours. so those guys are said to be of advanced levels. I did not expect them to look like humans. The pictures I c show they have human shapes. Thats what I dont understand here. Again, I have been told they monitor humans as aquariums, how come we are now able to monitor and capture them, may be those at NASA should throw more light on this issue.
BusinessRe: Who Is Currently The Richest Man In Nigeria? by emmydee(m): 12:07pm On Nov 24, 2006
Hey guys. Mikel's N14m weekly is chicken change and it's heavily taxed. d real guys earn up to N50m daily. rich guys money is calculated per second. most of them earn as high as N15 per second. in this vein, lets not talk about thieves and non thieves. No footballer makes the top 20! I know about Alhaji A.A. Chanchangi, jim ovia, Bishop Oyedepo, Alh. Abdusalami Abubarkar, Jeremaih Useni, Cosmos Maduka, Goodie & Alex Ibru, Dan Etiete, Orji Uzo Kanu, Peter Okocha, Asagba of Asaba, (Alh. Mohammed Abacha is a small boy even Alh. Mohammed Babangida is richer than him at the moment) Alhadji Bature & Shiekh Isiaku Rabiu. U can't hide wealth but u can hide money! These guys are wealthy but not the top 10 riechest.

A lot of these rich guys are chairmen of many top ranking firms including banks, telecoms, insurance, airlines, oil, construction etc.
for me, the list should be:

Harry Akande- chicago based oil magnet
IBB- maradona
Deinde Fernandez- far back investment icon
Aliko Dangote- biz egghead
Aminu Dantata- godfather
Mike Adenuga-millenium biz guru
Uncle himself, OBJ- examplary farmer
Ooni of Ife, Ade Siju Ade- gem stone icon
Chief Arthur Nzeribe- arms deal eagle
Atiku Abubarkar- privatization stronghold
Barr. Jimo Ibrahim-21st century investor

all their income is calculated per second not per week! None earns less than N10 per second. Thanks.
