The headline of this post is misleading. Humanitarian pause does not mean aid withdrawal. It means allowing a window of opportunity where military action is suspended briefly so aids can come in. |

mrLhanray: I remember during the three weeks orientation camp in Paiko, Niger several years ago. One man who addressed us said something similar. That they produce electricity for the whole country, but the don't act entitled like those in South South that produces crude oil. There are several ways to generate electricity, This Governor can't use this as bargaining chips. If you switch off Kainji and shiroro dams, other states especially southern state will seek other means to generate electricity. Dams can be constructed too Not at all, they lied to you. They only produce 20% or more of power supplied to Nigeria. Niger Delta generates the other 70%. |
Politics › Re: Niger State Demands 13% Derivation From Oil Revenue; Threatens To Shut Kanji Dam by emmyN(m): 10:49pm On Nov 07, 2023 |
This one must be a clown. Only 27% of power in Nigeria is generated through hydroelectricity of which their dam is a part. The other over 70% is generated through gas sourced from the Niger Delta. |

You didn't state it that Jonathan rejected the proposal. You ended it with, "the government was roundly criticised". One would think they were the ones championing the idea and had to backtrack when the media raised a ruckus. Your article was either deliberately misleading or dwelled on half-truths. |

Just imagine i journeyed from abule egba to ikorodu on BRT with less than #500 a trip that cost me #1700 on the yellow busses. Kudos to Lagos state government. This is the real palliative that gets to people not those nonsense rice being shared. What has changed since the time when the fare was subsidized and now? seunmsg: The $6b arbitration award was awarded during the Goodluck Jonathan administration. Stop lying over something that can be easily verified. Your lie is very deliberate. Jonathan had an out of court settlement to pay P&ID $850million and he even expressed dissatisfaction with the humongous amount. He however delayed payment because he was leaving office. Your Buhari came in and ignored the entire proceedings. Doubt he was even aware because he had no ministers for six months. And even after that, Nigeria had no representative when the company decided to go back to court which resulted in an additional $2.3bn in interests, making it $8.9billion. You should know you cannot swoon everyone in your lies. APC is a failure, Buhari is, and so is Tinubu. |
Politics › Re: UK Court Laments Greediness Of Nigerian Officials In P&ID Scandal by emmyN(m): 2:25am On Oct 25, 2023 |
seunmsg: The truth is that a lot of Nigerians are exactly like the greedy officials that sold out the country for peanuts to P&ID. Corruption know no politicial parry, religion or ethnicity. It is simply endemic among Nigerians. This very sad case happened under Yar'adua/Jonathan. Today, these two former leaders are praised as saints. If not for the effort of Buhari and Malami in particular, this scam against Nigeria would have been successful as the Jonathan administration was already discussing payment terms before Buhari took over.
In fact, the kind of bashing Buhari, Tinubu and APC would have gotten if Nigeria had lost the case would have been deafening. Atiku, Obi, Rufai and other haters of Nigeria would have been falling on each other in a struggle to see who can come up with the most asinine statement against the APC government. Today, they are all quiet and pretending like nothing significant was achieved.
Nigeria shall continue to win over all her enemies. If you do not have selective amnesia you will recall that it was the laxity of the Buhari-led government that cost the nation the initial $6billion award. That deal was struck by Northern cabals in control of the government at the time Yar'adua was ailing on his behalf and possibly with his consent. GEJ saw the folly of the contract and entered into dispute with it until he left office. Buhari got in and abandoned the whole process until the received the shocking $6bn award which raised outcry before they took action. Every bashing against Buhari, Tinubu, and APC is therefore justified as they have colluded together to plunge Nigerians into hopelessness. |

Doubleoh7: And assuming this is an 'attack', what made it criminal to warrant what she has been subjected to by Erisco? My point is, how the company responded to this is so wrong in many fronts. Innoson had a recent similar attack by one guy on twitter, how all the IVM vehicles his father bought have all packed up. IVM only had to reach out to the guy to come substantiate his claims and guess what, he backtracked and deleted all tweets and claimed he was hacked. There was no need to arrest and harrass the guy with security agents. Sometime ago, can't remember which year was that, indomie had similar attack launched, claiming then that a young guy died immediately after consuming their noodles. They followed it up immediately, even asked the family to please conduct autopsy on the guy, started doing public shows of cooking and consuming indomie noodled, today they are still standing strong with their brand. No be everything be giri die. Unfortunately, Mr Erisco lacks tact and seems to either surround himself with only praise singers or just the usual stubborn head traders that won't heed to advise You can't dictate to him how to respond. Defamation is still a criminal offence and that lady did just that. He chose to take the channel of the law by reporting to the police, which is justifiable. If she was maltreated or assaulted while in custody, her dispute should be with the police, not Erisco. We get away with too much, that is why every Jack and Jane can come online to write things they can't substantiate just to have a field day. |
