43Ronin:
this exactly what Paul says in ephesians. please make your own judgement from there..
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5 I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; [a]for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification. So likewise you, unless you utter by the tongue words easy to understand, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air. 10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without significance. 11 Therefore, if I do not know the meaning of the language, I shall be a [c]foreigner to him who speaks, and he who speaks will be a foreigner to me. 12 Even so you, since you are [d]zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the [e]edification of the church that you seek to excel.
from this passage you can infer that "tongues" refer to speaking in various languages(not rubbish). Also even though you speak in tongues and people don't understand you, when you are done you should interprete the tongues to the church because the Holy spirit is not one of confusion. If you are wilfully speaking in tongues and you cannot interprete or anyone can you are sinning against the Holy ghost andnits unforgivable. Many of your pastors are yoked with the devil for riches and wealth and their covenant is to lead as many people to hades with them.
There are tongues of men and tongues of angels. Tongues is not always natural language; most times it's not.

@ bold, the holyghost told you this?

TravelRe: Why Do Most Nigeria Streets Look Like This? by emmyN(m): 12:23am On Sep 08, 2023
For those harping on IQ, please understand that IQ is not static but depends on the environment and the standard of living one is exposed to. Once upon a time the Chinese were thought of as people with very low IQs, but today they are judged as those with one of the highest in the planet no thanks to their industrial revolution.

So no, IQ is not our problem, mammon is. The love of money...

yemmit90:
For Nigeria to have beautiful and organised cities, the right to build structures or buy land must be remove from individuals. Real Estate or construction companies should be the only organisations mandated by law to do so. Flexible Mortgage system must be introduce by banks, government and other financial houses. We are just wasting spaces in the name of building individuals houses, a single condo can accommodate a whole street in some localities. Would it not make sense if 50 people buy a flat each in a building than making useless structures on 50 plots of land or more. No individual or family should be allow to own more than 3 bedroom apartment or duplex if you are rich enough.

By this development, it will be very easy for investors to invest in a massive modern buildings and condos. This will also curb corruption to a greater extent as most of the loots are being spent on properties.
Love this suggestion

I'm starting to believe recently that we actually do have a low IQ!

We need a IQ test, Anyone whose IQ is below 100 should not be allowed close to governance!!

We can't be living like this in this modern day
IQ is not the problem. Nigeria is driven by a mammon god. This is why it is quite difficult to have lengthy conversations with people without the subject of money coming up. Everyone is propelled by the desire to accumulate as much money for themselves thereby foregoing the needs of the general society.

Think about it. Nigerians worship money and that is our problem.

nairalanda1:
That's the fact, then there is the other fact that there are a large number of people who do not pay, plus inflation and weakening of the naira, which all adds up.

N15000 may not be enough to give you 24/7 light these days.
15k is giving me three hours power in the dead of the night and it's not enough? Dude!
PoliticsRe: Why Nigerian Engineers Kick Against Planned Electricity Tariffs Increase by emmyN(m): 9:37am On Sep 01, 2023
nairalanda1:
That may seem like overcharging to you, but the hard fact is, it isn't enough (You see why we are a poor country?)

DISCOS are doing their best....but the thing is, they are forced to sell at a loss, and then they get paid a subsidy that barely covers that loss.

Then about 30-40% of their customers do not pay for the power they use.

Under such circumstances, there is no way they can give you light 24 hours. Even you, if you ran such a business , you won't make enough to break even. DISCOS also don't have a magic pot of money that yields money wherever whenever.
Please! We pay 15k in a month for estimated billing and we only get power 3 hours in a day, most of which is in the middle of the night. According to you what we are paying is not enough to get reasonable power angry.

I always laugh when I see people call on the companies to reduce their prices for poor people.

Like, suppose I call on the engineers to reduce their fees so that more poor people can afford their servicies. Dem go shout 'no way' tire.

We have a running internet system, and telephony system because at the end of the day, GSM companies were allowed to set their prices. We have a bad power system, because at the end of the day, government sets their prices to low because 'the poor have to breathe'. And 40% of customers do not pay for the light they use. Yes, including meter holders who bypass the thing, and enjoy free power.

At the end if we want 24 hours power, we better pay for 24 hours power, or forget about it.
The discos are overcharging for light they are not distributing. Many people spend as much as 50,000 in a month just to have power in their houses at night. Others spend more. That amount could easily give them 24/7 power if the discos cared to discharge their duties. They won't do this because they are profiting from the present estimated billings.

But why is she serving instead of getting exemption certificate? Is she below 30? NYSC, you are also inditing yourself, I am very sure this woman is above 30 yet she is serving. So both the NYSC and Tinubu who appointed her are all law breakers.
You don't understand the rules. If you graduated before 30 you must serve no matter how long you delay it, unless you don't want to work in the public service. It's only when you've crossed 30 before you graduated that you can be exempted.

PoliticsRe: Naira Weakens To N773.4/$ At I&E Window, N905/$ At Parallel Market by emmyN(m): 9:34am On Aug 24, 2023
DeLaRue:
Government doesn't control black market price. It is up to the buyer and seller to deal at whatever price suits them.

The government only has direct influence on the I & E window which is around N780. Big companies and many others who have legitimate reasons can buy dollars from banks.

Many of those desperately buying at any price on the black market are using hundreds of billions stolen under Mr Buhari's government. They can't come out openly to buy through official channels.

If they like, they should push the black market rate to N1500, it is up to them.

The government can only focus on the I & E market.
Dollar was selling at 700+ until government tried to unify the exchange rate, now it's at 900+. Don't you think the government is responsible for the hike due to their poorly thought-out policy?

Great move. Emefiele stopped the sale to BDCs and even went after the owner of abokifx. The dollar went from 150 to 750 vs $ under his reign.

Speculators who are profiting at the moment should get ready. Naira will end up around 700 to a dollar. By 2025 when the Dangite refinery becomes operational, the naira will even appreciate further.
Very convenient to blame Emefiele cheesy
