Barcelona Eye Arsenal Trio
Barcelona reportedly believe Arsenal are ‘a selling club’ and are preparing to take their top players off their hands.
Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing the Arsenal trio of Robin van Persie,
Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor, according to The Observer.

As previously reported by Goal.com, it has already been suggested that the trio will contemplate
leaving the Emirates should Arsenal fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League,
and now it appears that Barcelona may be hoping to cash-in on this situation.

The Gunners currently lie out of the Champions League places in the Premier League,
sitting in fifth spot, six points behind Chelsea, albeit with a game in hand.

The Observer reports that Barcelona have already made an approach for van Persie,
offering the Gunners cash plus Alexander Hleb in the January transfer window, an offer the north London club rejected.

However, this does not appear to have put off the Catalan side who appear confident of capturing van Persie.

The paper claims that Barcelona, "believe they can persuade Arsenal to sell in the
close season when he enters the final 12 months of his current contract."

As well as signing the Dutchman the paper also claims that the
Primera Division side are preparing offers for Adebayor and Fabregas also.

The Observer states, “In addition to recruiting Van Persie as a left-sided attacker,
Barcelona are working on approaches for Emmanuel Adebayor and Cesc Fabregas.

"While they do not consider it possible to capture all three in a single transfer window,
Barca regard Arsenal as ‘a selling club’ and expect the London club to release at
least one of their star names to raise funds for reconstruction of their own squad.”
