I'm glad we have an increasing number of qualified technicians here. It was Gazzuzz and now you. Kudos bro!
Seems our recent craze for Lexus is not being matched by commensurate supply for replacement parts especially if there are no Toyota alternatives. This has been my major worry buying the GS and IS range of Lexus. N1.8m for an engine? Chi m! Man gotta revert to Toyota Corolla and Honda Accord.
But i hope it encourages the owner to look for qualified mechanics even if it costs more. Well done Poster!
This is why I tell people, buy your cars from the abroad and we can help you keep track of them and show you what you are buying. Can swear that odometer was also rolled back. Chai, but what do I know?
salford1: Extract from the Interview with Osita Chidoka.
Channels TV interviewer: Do you believe in the oneness of Nigeria?
Osita Chidoka: Yes I do. Nigeria is large enough, Nigeria has great potential. Nigeria is exceptional in it's combination of 3 major ethnic group, minor ethnic group and all kinds of sights and sounds from the sahelian desert all the way to the mangrove in the Niger-Delta. Nigeria provides great possibilities for every Nigerian.
sawyerrola: my boss, i apologize jare. was my mistake big time. you know this was how we met some of the trusted guys here. same way i did great deals with people i never knew (infact never met before the deal sef!!! and paid fully for more expensive vehicles), Calculusx (the most trusted of them all), Loidee, Hassrash (hassan), Inspired (i actually had 2 clean deals with him). i just felt would be nice also giving new dealers opportunity to show themselves trustworthy. but this is the last time it will happen. i wasnt even happy making the guys pass thru all these wahala, initially i had said they would make a full refund. but i really felt for them, they had really suffered in that 1 week. they didnt see it coming. My Choice now remains Pre Order must be Calculusx, Cotonou (if border will ever be opened again) must be Hassan, although Godpower may have a chance sha!!!!! but for now, ill stick with Pre-order.
as per the song......you really need to feel the heat of SARS and you will discover a talent in you. the guy confessed like the policemen are Priests. then imagine what happened inside the cell where inmates are told (by the chief prisoner) to be clapping for you while you do the rest of the entertainment.....
anyway, not something im proud i did, but they actually made me do it, so i had to, and now they know silence is not stupidity. so my apologies goes out to them. i hope they will become good guys henceforth. mistakes are useful only when you learn from them, lets hope they learnt from this experience.
Godspower is now my friend, infact he is ready to do PAYMENT AFTER DELIVERY only after i have verified and done inspection for any deals i want now.
Chei! Bros!!
This your treatment na DIE!! I only need one information from you!
That SARS contact. . . . . . . . .I need am pass water die!!
Meanwhile, when i saw 2012 Camry for 5.2m, I want scream!
BC job is not contract with a definite date; that is why it says indefinite. Indefinite means it has no limit. Hence it is permanent unless you are sacked, or you resign.
BC does not pay in Dollars or pounds unless you are NOT a locally employed staff. It is pure Naira. However, you receive an annual salary increase around 8 to 10 per cent of your current pay package. It is called Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) to basically respond to inflationary trends. This is applicable to all BC positions Worldwide
You will not rise above Pay Band 4 unless there is an opening on a higher band. In which case, you will apply and go through the same competition with external applicants. Again, there is no horizontal movement, it is parallel. For instance, you come in at 200k per annum on pay band 4, you will only keep receiving your usual COLA every year. JD will likely remains the same, no new challenges probable. Unless there is an opening on a higher pay band and you apply and become successful. Then you move up; else, you will remain on Bank 4 until you get tired of BC and leave, but never the same pay.
The BC job is pensionable via your usual Pencom act. Monthly contribution, deducted from source etc. You have an ok health insurance etc, 13th and 14th. Be aware though, that these are all built up together to make up your annual pay.
Now, to the koko of your job. The BC exams team is one hell of a terrible team to work in. You got no breathing space. If this role is Lagos based, add backbiting and poor team cohesion to the mix. You will normally say this exists everywhere and I agree. But it is pins and needles and office politics. THERE IS A HIGH PERSONNEL TURN OVER in the Exams Team. Reason, BC does not want to hear, that the integrity of any of the exams it administers on behalf of foreign organisations was tampered with. So, any slight case of compromise puts you one leg out of the door. Be VERY AWARE OF THIS
But the job will give you exposure and challenge you. It can also be rewarding. But please, define your career path before you sign that letter.

What is the price of the bolded? Which comes with the magic remote?
I have been noticing of late, increasing cases of failed catalysts and clogged CCs of late. In fact i have witnessed 3 cases in the last three weeks or less. First time I experienced this was with my brother's 2003 VW Passat; in 2012. Unit almost caught fire on the highway.
Can we discuss this and find out possible causes and probably preventive maintenance techniques to adopt to prevent this.
One of the main causes i know is the poor quality fuel we use in Nigeria, which has very high lead content. The lead degrades the catalysts and also poisons most 02 sensors causing sensor failure.
But I do love to hear from the experts.
Gazzuzz, Kingreign, Piyke, Bravolad, Siena Cecegorz, Ikenna can we all jawjaw on this?
cecegorz: I just had an experience with my car last week, and I thought to share for people to update their knowledge. This experience cost me about a 100k only.
The car had never stalled in about 2 years since I bought it, only goes for regular maintenance services, so when I noticed it stalling on that Tuesday morning, I didn't hesitate to take it to the mechanic, amidst dying and restarting a couple of times along the way.
The mech first scanned the ECU and came up with codes about the catalysts, ignition coils and injection systems clogging, started by servicing the injection, changing coils and plug and yet no respite. So he lifted the car, went under and saw the whole exhaust system red hot as the engine was running, so he dismantled the whole stuff and discovered the 3 catalytic converters has been blocked, thus the engine couldn't breathe! That was what put the whole system under pressure with collateral damages in the engine.
Consequently, engine got a cracked valve, bad gaskets and all. Ultimately, the car spent 1 week in the shop and dug a 100k hole in my wallet. I have uploaded the receipt of spare parts bought and replaced for mechanics in the house to review.
This is a recurring issue for cars of late. I first experienced this in 2012 on a 2003 VW Passat. Car almost caught fire. Then a colleagues 2001 Peugeot 406 and then another 2003 Camry.
I suspect it is the leaded fuel we use here. But I hope Siena and Gazzuz and Kingreign can come here and let's jawjaw on this.
I was issued a two year multiple entry B1/B2 visa in October 2014, due to expire October 2016. Given a family emergency I could not travel immediately as I initially planned.
I have now concluded plans to travel next month for a one month holiday. But i understand I was expected to have used the visa in the first six months of issuance. Is this correct? If so, what do I need to do to ensure a hitch free interaction with US Immigration officers at the POE?
Again, what are the likely implications of not using a valid visa before it expires? Should one expect any issue during application for renewal?
