These two twins still need some growing up to do in their primary positions.
Playing them out of position will be a little too much for them to cope with. Remember how injury prone they are. Could just be a last resort of Av doesn't make it back in time for the Arsenal game

Aside Brown, this was practically the squad that played Chelsea
and even though we lost, we looked better and were not really ran over.
I had expected him to improve on the trip to Anfield. The worst we coulda asked for was a point.

Injuries yes, but that will hold more water if he played the sensible formation and still got ran over.
The centre back pairing being new, needed adequate protection.
Who will do it? A Scholes with speed liability or a Carrick whose brain processes at the speed of a Pentium 1.
I wasn't pained as much on seeing the formation and those playing. Me na siddon dey look until the rebuilding starts.

BTW, can we just make money off Rooney and let dude go?

I wonder what RVp woulda changed if he was on the field!
Was is a defender? A midfielder?
Gaynner's stop hallucinating! With 12 men on your side, una no for fit win Barca yesterday!!

That doesn't make the sending off proper but hey, no one seems to be questioning why RVP got the first yellow.
No one is blaming him for retaliating and getting himself booked.

You people should stop bleating and prepare for the game at OT!!!!

You see, it is only in United that the laws of diminishing return is always turned on its head.
The fact that we are churning out results may just be what is giving this man the mind to keep these veterans
This team peaked in 2008 with the UCL title. The diminishing started in 2009 even-though we were good enough to get to the UCL finals and then won the double.

The moment Ronaldo left, the refurbishing and rebuilding shoulda started. But we suddenly turned to Arsenal and started buying youngsters; even untested ones. Where are they today? Mostly on loan.
I can count a handful who are doing just ok. 35yrs and a coach has refused to realize he needs an world class attacking midfielder. I am also looking to see how he handles the exit of VDS given the wahala we went thru before we got him.

I really can't say much but it will be a best-seller on how to destroy a house you built.

It's as if this whole football set up has been pre-arranged by a few persons and then they decide what you win and when you win what match. It's like saying, ok, Man U, it's your turn to win the EPL this season but you will lose to Liverfool and Chelsea away and then Chelsea, wait for next season but Arsenal will beat you etc.

I just couldn't understand such a decision with a coach with over 26 years experience!!

I have him hugely to blame.
Him it is who is the administrator of this squad.
Him it is who decides who to buy, when to buy and what to buy in the transfer market
Him it is who decides who to field and what formation to come up with.

So how is SAF not being blamed here abi na Ruudie buy the players?
This team needed serious surgery from 2009 just before Ronaldo left. We had peaked with the UCL and needed a massive re-injection of fresh legs and formation. But somehow, Baba thought the likes of Giggs and Scholes will keep coming the way it was.

Rivals are buying big time; i am not asking him to buy big time, but bring the reason why i fell in love with Manchester United; beautiful football with results and a club with a pedigree.
I am not soo excited watching United until something serious begins to happen!!

Is the grammar too big for Fergie to comprehend?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by Emperoh(m): 10:15am On Mar 07, 2011
I really do not think this is what we need.
Unless you are telling me dude is ready to hit the ground running.
We need established names to start cleaning up the mess we are in now.

Scholes was jaded yesterday and Giggs had no business in the team.
The one that pains me most is Carrick and why the gaffer still had to wait so late to hand Fletcher his game.
You need a hustler and if you don't get one, you do be run over.
Look the way Meireles had a field run across our middle like a running nose!!

We haven't been spectacular but we coulda gotten a point outta this game!!
Nevertheless, the next game at Arsenal determines how much of sense Fergie has left!

Don't be surprised if he doesn't. What you should worry about is that he keeps getting away with
these things time and time again! I have lost count of how many times you expect him to buy and he doesn't but still goes ahead and wins something.

We can only hand on the tethers and see what comes of it!!
There is little i can blame the defence about. Our midfield has once again let us down.

The two goals came from errors from midfielders. I still wonder why a Fletcher will sit on the bench for a match of this magnitude. No cutting edge whatsoever. look at how Suara cut thru the defence like hot knife thru butter!!

I really don't think having these people sign new contracts is anything to be unhappy about.
For some reason's i think these guys will still hit their prime as before before gradually waning.
Again, let's assume they don't, you need to make some money off them as there will be clubs still willing to have them no matter how low they've dropped in terms of quality. Abi u want them to leave on free transfer?

Let's take a chill pills guys. . . .we can get past it. The fact that we are topping the league despite their low form is a pointer to the fact their experience is still valuable!!

Meanwhile, i am surprised no one has posted this. Are we turning to Arsenal in disguise?
What's with all these untested chaps?

Manchester United are set to sign Anderlecht's teenage midfielder Adnan Januzaj, according to the Belgian club.

The two clubs have only to agree the terms for the Belgian 16-year-old, with the fee believed to be about £297,000.

Anderlecht wanted to keep the highly-rated attacking midfielder, who is of Albanian descent and joined the club from FC Brussels in 2005.

But they do not plan to stand in the way of him joining the current Premier League leaders.
Fifa rules stipulate that players under the age of 16 cannot move between European clubs.
But having waited until 5 February when Januzaj crossed that threshold, United will be able to pay the Belgian club a minimal fee for him before his price begins to rise.

According to Anderlecht the "deal is done" but the two clubs must arrange the fee which can be paid up front or can be incentive based dependent on appearances.

Manchester United would not comment on the deal when contacted by BBC Sport.

Fifa has recently introduced a Transfer Matching System to improve the transparency of such deals where both clubs involved can register as much information as possible about the transfer.

Any agreement between clubs must also be ratified by a player status sub-committee.

Since January 2010 there have been 1,752 transfer applications entered into the system for minors with 1,123 accepted and 255 rejected. The remainder are in process.

But there is still a lingering concern that bigger European clubs with vast scouting networks are able to offer incentives to youngsters, therefore denying smaller clubs of ample rewards for developing players.
There is also the issue of whether young players make the right choice in going to a bigger club where their chances may be limited.

In 2009, French club Le Havre accused Manchester United of "stealing" French midfielder Paul Pogba.
And in 2007 Lazio were unhappy with the pursuit and signing of Italian striker Federico Macheda, who was 16 at the time.

Barcelona recently described Arsenal's purchase of Jon Toral as "a little immoral". The 16-year-old midfielder moved for a fee of about £296,000.

But Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: "We have done what is legal. Plenty of players leave us under exactly the same rule."
