I also have those thoughts too..

Even after a good bath, i still have some dirts on my white towel. Good to know it's dead cells and so on.

But am also of the take that source of water is also a contributory factor and soap choice too.

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN
DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE
CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)
DATE: SATURDAY, APRIL 12, 2025
TOPIC: A FRAGRANT OFFERING
READ: JOHN 12:1-11 (NKJV)

12:1. Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead.
12:2. There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him.
12:3. Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.
12:4. Then one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's [son,] who would betray Him, said,
12:5. "Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?"
12:6. This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.
12:7. But Jesus said, "Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial.
12:8. "For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always."
12:9. Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.
12:10. But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also,
12:11. because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.

THE MESSAGE:

Consider the striking features of the three people mentioned in this text during the visit of Jesus to Bethany, after raising Lazarus from the dead. Martha served food at the table, and Mary poured an expensive perfume on Jesus. Bible scholars estimate the cost of the perfume to be about one year's wages for a worker. What would that translate to in our local currency today? Apart from being sacrificial, Mary's action was prophetic and timely. It was prophetic because it pointed to the imminent death of Jesus, and timely because she achieved what Mary Magdalene and others attempted to do but were late (verse 7; Mark 16:1).

The fragrance of the oil filled the whole house (verse 3). Some disciples including Judas Iscariot were unhappy with Mary's action, considering it to be a waste (verses 4-5; Matthew 26:6-13). Judas had a wrong motive for his own reaction. Thankfully, Jesus corrected them and encouraged Mary's action (verses 7-8; Matthew 26:10-13). Do you support God's work through your tithes and offerings? Do your skills, talents and other resources contribute to spreading the fragrance of the gospel? (2 Corinthians 2:14-15). People may not appreciate your service to God sometimes, but God always sees, understands, appreciates and rewards.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, please help me to use my resources, skills, talents and opportunities to spread the fragrance of the Gospel, Amen!

Another poor Animal..

Still Available for those asking

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN
DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE
CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)
DATE: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 09, 2025
TOPIC: THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE
READ: JOHN 11:20-31 (NKJV)

11:20. Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house.
11:21. Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.
11:22. "But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You."
11:23. Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
11:24. Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
11:25. Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
11:26. "And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
11:27. She said to Him, "Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world."
11:28. And when she had said these things, she went her way and secretly called Mary her sister, saying, "The Teacher has come and is calling for you."
11:29. As soon as she heard [that,] she arose quickly and came to Him.
11:30. Now Jesus had not yet come into the town, but was in the place where Martha met Him.
11:31. Then the Jews who were with her in the house, and comforting her, when they saw that Mary rose up quickly and went out, followed her, saying, "She is going to the tomb to weep there."

THE MESSAGE:

When we lost a brother a few years ago, we requested the mortuary attendants not to embalm him that day. Somehow, we hoped that he would wake up during the night. By morning, however, we lost all hope and allowed them to proceed. Martha must have lost hope of seeing her brother alive again. This may explain her regrets about the absence of Jesus earlier. But she expressed great faith that God would grant any request from Jesus.

When Jesus told her that Lazarus would rise again, her mind was on the Last Day resurrection. Then Jesus declared that He is the Resurrection and the Life, and anyone who believes in Him shall have eternal life. He is also the Alpha and the Omega (Revelation 1:8,11). Like Peter in Matthew 16:16, Martha expressed her firm belief that Jesus is Christ. She may not have known that Jesus would raise Lazarus from the dead, but she had a firm faith in God though she was mourning her 'dead' brother. We too can express absolute faith in God even when we have not seen the answer to our specific prayer request. When we come to God in faith, we shall experience His divine power in our lives (Hebrews 11: 1,6).

PRAYER: "Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God."
