THE DAILY FOUNTAIN
DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE
CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)
DATE: MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2025
TOPIC: CRUMBS FROM THE MASTER'S TABLE
READ: MATTHEW 15:21-28 (NKJV)

15:21. Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
15:22. And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed."
15:23. But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, "Send her away, for she cries out after us."
15:24. But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
15:25. Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, help me!"
15:26. But He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and throw [it] to the little dogs."
15:27. And she said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table."
15:28. Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great [is] your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

THE MESSAGE:

A Canaanite woman came to Jesus to obtain deliverance for her daughter. However, Jesus made it clear that His timetable did not include the Gentiles at that time. The woman remained determined, even when Jesus told her that it was not right to give the children's food to dogs (referring to Gentiles who were living in sin). Again, the woman surprised Jesus with two spiritual revelations. She remninded Him that children and dogs are all part of God's household, hence any Jew (child) who is careless to throw their food down, will transfer their legal right/ownership to the dogs (Gentiles) under the table. This means that if a believer is careless over his/her inheritance rights, an unbeliever who goes to God in prayer and humility can gain the mercy of God. She also reminded Jesus that she did not need everything in His word to get her miracle. To her, just as crumbs are enough to satisfy the hunger of dogs, by implication, any crumb in Jesus' word is powerful enough to meet her need. Jesus marveled at these spiritual insights and healed her daughter.

We can have access to Jesus at any time. However, He needs us to remain in unbending faith even in the midst of delays or unanswered prayers. We must stand on His word for our loved ones whose destinies are held captive by the enemy. When we do this, we will see God transform our problems into glorious miracles.

PRAYER: Lord I believe that every crumb of Your word is more powerful than my challenges.

EID MUBARAK and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATION.

May Allah's blessings be with you and your family now and always. May Allah accept your prayers and fasting. Happy Eid-al-Fitr

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers and soon to be mothers. May we all eat the fruit of our labour. May we not be missing when our children are being celebrated

Enjoy your Day❤️

(Lent IV: Mothering Sunday)
TOPIC: TRUE SPIRITUALITY THAT ATTRACTS GOD'S BLESSING
READ: MATTHEW 15:1-6 (NKJV)

15:1. Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying,
15:2. "Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread."
15:3. He answered and said to them, "Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?
15:4. "For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.'
15:5. "But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me [is] a gift [to God" -- ]
15:6. 'then he need not honor his father or mother.' Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

THE MESSAGE:

Every 4th Sunday in Lent is usually tagged the Mothering Sunday, it's a time in the Church calendar dedicated to honouring the “Mother Church (the Church where you were baptised). However, in recent times, the focus is gradually shifted towards honouring our mothers, showing appreciation to them for their innumerable sacrifice. God is so particular about honouring one's parent and giving them all the accord that is due (Exodus 20:12, Leviticus 20:9). In today's passage, Jesus Christ pointed out issues with practices of the Pharisees and Scribes (the teachers of the Law) are at sharp variance with the traditions of the elders which was inspired by the Law of God, particularly in the area of honouring one's parent. He rebuked the for failing in their responsibility to help needy parents in line with God's word, using the excuse that tradition permitted them to dedicate the resources to God only. The matter of taking care of one's parent is very important to God, and we must handle it with all seriousness. Jesus demonstrated this honour when He, during the most horrific period of His life, still ensured that He made adequate provision for the welfare of His grieving mother before His departure.

Friends, please note that taking care of one's parent is a spiritual exercise that attracts God's blessings. As we commemorate this year Mothering Sunday, here are few tips on how to celebrate it: do something special for your mom today (pray for her, tell her how much she means to you, get her a decent gift, spend quality time with her), reach out to your Mother Church (if possible, worship with them, send a gift to them and if God has blessed you enough, meet a need in the Church)

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to place Your word above the traditions of men, Amen.

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN
DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE
CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)
DATE: SATURDAY, MARCH 29, 2025
TOPIC: FAITH IN IMPOSSIBLE SITUATIONS
READ: MATTHEW 9:18-26 (NKJV)

9:18. While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live."
9:19. So Jesus arose and followed him, and so [did] His disciples.
9:20. And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment.
9:21. For she said to herself, "If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well."
9:22. But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, "Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.
9:23. When Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing,
9:24. He said to them, "Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping." And they ridiculed Him.
9:25. But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.
9:26. And the report of this went out into all that land.

THE MESSAGE:

Many years ago, I was attacked by a sickness that resisted everything seasoned doctors did. One of the Professors of medicine said to me, “I think you people are Church people; this is where faith comes in.” This situation lasted for one year and I became discouraged. One day, I lost faith and decided to die. That night, around 12.00 am, my spirit exited from my body. Miraculously, God brought me back to life and took me on the path of faith and positive confessions on His word for some months and I got well. Halleluya! Today's passage is about two impossible situations. The daughter of a ruler died and a woman had an issue of blood for 12 years which doctors could not cure. These two persons demonstrated their faith in their positive confessions on the unfailing ability of Jesus. The ruler confessed his belief that his daughter would come back to life and the woman with the issue of blood said that a touch of the hem of the garment of Jesus would dry her flow of blood. Both got their miracles to the glory of God!

Is there any stubborn situation tossing you around? Do not be like the faithless crowd who believed that some situations are unchangeable. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Contact with just verse of his word can turn impossibilities to possibilities. So, take the matter to Jesus; stand in faith, positive confessions on His word and ultimate power. You will experience a miraculous turnaround in your situation.

PRAYER: Lord I believe. Turn my impossibilities to testimonies in Jesus' Name, Amen!

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN
DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE
CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)
DATE: FRIDAY, MARCH 28, 2025
TOPIC: JESUS, OUR GREAT PHYSICIAN
READ: MATTHEW 8:14-17 (NKJV)

8:14. Now when Jesus had come into Peter's house, He saw his wife's mother lying sick with a fever.
8:15. So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.
8:16. When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
8:17. that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities And bore [our] sicknesses."

THE MESSAGE:

Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, went to Peter's house and saw his mother-in-law that was sick with fever and He healed her. She then responded positively by serving Him. However, other sick people came and got healed to fulfil the biblical promise in Isaiah 53:4, which says that surely He took away our infirmities and diseases and carried our pains and sorrows. Jesus is still in the business of healing the sick and delivering all that are oppressed by the devil. It is unfortunate that many who receive such and other blessings from God do not reciprocate positively by committing their lives to the service of God. Jesus expects all to show appreciation for His great works among men, by serving Him, just as the mother-in-law of Peter.

Is sickness or any other infirmity tormenting your life, home or loved ones? Remember that the complete price of healing and restoration has been paid on the cross of Calvary. Be a blessing to those held captive by sickness and demonic oppressions. Bring them to Jesus Christ by faith to reverse their situations. As His ambassador on earth, insist on this liberty in Christ and drive out evil spirits with Jesus' promises on healing. His word has been tried, tested and trusted - He is unchanging!

PRAYER: Father; I stand on Your promise in Isaiah 53:4 and claim perfect healing and deliverance for me and my loved ones in Jesus name, Amen!

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN
DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE
CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)
DATE: THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 2025
TOPIC: FOCUS ON THE KINGDOM
READ: MATTHEW 6:19-34 (NKJV)

6:19. " Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;
6:20. "but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
6:21. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
6:22. " The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
6:23. "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great [is] that darkness!
6:24. " No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
6:25. " Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
6:26. "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
6:27. "Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
6:28. "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
6:29. "and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
6:30. "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, [will He] not much more [clothe] you, O you of little faith?
6:31. "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
6:32. "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
6:33. "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
6:34. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day [is] its own trouble.

THE MESSAGE:

The economic difficulties of our time have driven many into worry and the desperate quest for worldly riches. Jesus warns against such unacceptabl behaviour for heavenly-minded believers and admonishes us to keep our eyes on heaven. Failure to do this, will result in double allegiance to God and to deceitful riches which will hinder our walk with Him. Jesus also warns against worry with three reasons:
(a) God spends time to beautify flowers which have a short lifespan, and by implication, will take care men who are of greater worth
(b) God knows and cares about our need before we ask
(c) Challenges are part of human life; so there is no need tc worry about them. He advises us to free ourselves of today's challenges so that we can have capacity to cope with tomorrow. (d) God has demonstrated love and care for all creation so He is trustworthy, tested and reliable.

Are you pushed around by the troubles of life and have began to worry? Have you removed your eyes from heavenly things to the perishable things of this world? Remember, God cares for you and has the ultimate power to change your situations to His glory. Focus your eyes on heavenly matters and God will show you how to handle your challenges daily.

PRAYER: Lord please help me to focus my eyes on heavenly matters and take my eyes away from my challenges, Amen!
