If you have the means, leave Nigeria.
Do not listen to people advising you not to leave.
They either do not have the means or have never lived in a country that works.
They do not know what it is to be a normal citizen in a country that works.
Nigeria is toss. |

Hgold: Is there a thread for those applying to Canada from the UK? If yes, kindly share link pls. Mate, You would like to move to Canada from the UK? I lived in the UK and then in France. It was a carefully thought out decision not to move back to the UK but to Canada from France. Many Brits are moving to Canada. Most of the expats that moved to Canada and went back to the UK regretted it. Check out the Facebook threads on British Expats living in Canada, you would learn a lot, especially as you are currently in the UK. All the best with your decision. |

gretop86: Yes to all. For school, you’d have to get your new address in the same school zone if you dont want to change schools. All you’ll need to do is update the address with the school after moving. This is brilliant information. Thanks a lot. |

Hello All,
Can you use a temporary address to get the following sorted:
- Ontario Health Card - Exchange European Drivers licence for an Ontario one - Open bank accounts
What about enquiries for school? what happens if you are still in a temporary accommodation/airbnb when it is time for kids to be enrolled for school?
Cheers. |

OgechiBae: With such income, you should be comfortable, even in Toronto region. Some households don't even earn such amount. Also, I believe government will also provide child benefit if your income qualifies. Speaking of Oshawa, the only difference in terms of cost between there and Toronto might be slightly the accomodation (depending on where you live in both cities. Some places in Oshawa might end up being more expensive than some places in Toronto region), every other thing is pretty much the same. I live a bit further away from Oshawa and i don't spend less living here in terms of groceries and the rest. Thanks for your feedback. So I am a bit concerned with the living expense - accommodation especially and 5 mouths to feed. I understand that the Durham region has got some expensive areas but hoping to consider places like Ajax, Whitby, etc. I installed the HouseSigma App. excellent app I must say; it gives info on houses to buy or rent and even gives ranking based on factors like school ratings etc. Have you tried the HouseSigma software before, Your thoughts? |

Good Evening,
Quick question. Can a family of 5 survive with an income of 140 CAD in Oshawa? Wife does not work for now. Plan to land finally over summer after soft landing last year.
Thanks for your help. |

Hi all,
Is anyone kind enough to share tips/experience with soft landing in the Toronto Area? Any information on staying for an initial 3 weeks. Do I need an international driving licence sorted out before I travel for instance.
Cheers. |
