Several factors will determine that namely location, type/scope of building and quality of finishes.

If you are referring to a bungalow below is a rough guide (location-ogun state)

Size of plot - 36 x 9m ( half plot)-324 sqm
Cost of half plot - 600k - 1.5m depending on the are

Size of building - 25m x 7m (3 bedroom bungalow- one unit)= 175 sqm

Current reality is that 1sqm = 200,000 naira

Therefore cost of building= 175 x 200,000 = N35,000,000 (external works inclusive with average material finishing for the building)

Add the cost of land -1,500,000

Add contingency- 2,000,000

Total - N 38,500,000

Note that you can reduce the rate to 1sqm = 150,000 but not advisable

Luckily for me I was sent a text messages today to come for the interview on Monday 23rd of January with my credentials and dress corporately when coming. I never expected I'll be invited for an interview though. Although I sent an attractive CV and cover letter

But the problem right now is my final NYSC clearance is next month February and I'm in bayelsa state like this. Although I and my immediate family based in ondo city few kilometres away from the College.. ..

What should I do please.. I don't know where else to run to for advice please help me..

I was in a similar issue for my first major job years ago
Test in Lagos...NYSC was in PH
The test date was a day before my POP

Guess what
I went...did the test
Took night bus ..so I won't miss my POP
I didn't get my NYSC cert that day...punishment for my unauthorised travel
Almost got an extension


Found my way round it...got my cert the next day(Saturday) - this one na another long story

Passed the test, went through the interview stages and landed my first main job...which kinda gave me the foundation to where I am today

Moral lesson: leave excuses, find a way
Nigeria is too hard to miss out on opportunities that come your way!

Very hard makes it impossible. There's very few companies that sponsor H1B a lot of those companies that sponsor at the moment have hiring freezes. A typical tech interview last at least 3 months. You have to apply, chat with recruiter, chat with manager, do around 5 to 6 technical interviews with one onsite at least before an offer is made. It's not possible to go through this in 60 days and then theres the whole paper work stuff to transfer the sponsorship and some people aren't in even in interview shape. Some have relaxed and haven't studied thier data structures in a very long time. Very hard makes it almost impossible.

Infact people believed Twitter would crash or become worse, but Twitter is still alive and running. Elon Musk believed that the job could still be done with less tech staff, and he did it. Other tech companies have followed suit.
Because of the unpredictability they now try to maximize profits and reduce overheads as much as possible.
The problem is that we now have an abundance of tech talent with fewer companies willing to take them on.

My advise to tech guys is to look for tech roles in non tech companies Because the competition just became even higher.

It was the same with oil and gas. Everybody was rushing there till the bubble burst. The same is happening with tech.

Gone are the days where HRs or Recruiters employ jobseekers based on their skills, expertise and competencies. We are in an era whereby most Nigerian jobs are based on recommendations, referrals, amongst others.

Mine was even before I graduated from school that I've been rolling out multiple CVs due to the fear of the unknown, and not a single feedback up until now. I really do not know maybe there's something I'm just not doing right or is a Nigeria factor happening to everybody.

I had this same mentality during my NYSC days, until I met someone on NL here that exposed me to the right information

People land jobs based on merit, well
I did and I still am...worked in 5 major organizations so far, currently working with one abroad atm...and all has been on merit, no connect, no referrals whatsoever

For entry level jobs,
What did you finish with?
you are in a good space if you finished with 2:1 and above because there are tons of entry level jobs with no experience requirements out there.
You just need to prepare for those technical tests and interviews like your life depends on it -Gmat/SHL/Aptitude practice tests were my bible at the time

If you didnt finish with 2:1 and above,
now is the time to dig into sellable and marketable skills: front end, back-end, digital marketing, cybersecurity, etc
6-9months of diligently acquiring any of these skill sets will land you internship job opportunities (research Fintechs in Nigeria) and then you can take it from there

If you have the right skills/information, getting a Job will be the least of your issue
Always remember, looking for JOB is a JOB in itself....don't sit and wait for anybody; WAKE UP and put in the work; you will be glad you did
