This is how Fashola used to kill time in traffic instead of blasting his way trough traffic with sirens. This one is not blasting through.. He was part of the cause... His security blocked Ibadan Expressway for several mins while we are all waiting for him to leave his office and pass.. I was super pissed that day.. |

This is my most singular beef with him.. I was caught in 2 of those closed road activities and i was late for an appointment.. |

GavelSlam:
I Don't agree.
Buhari is doing a typical Sam Allardyce job of keeping the club afloat at the late hour.
I don't know why you guys like to deny the truth.
Nigeria had less than 30 billion in foreign reserves with lots of outstanding bills in 2015.
No industries, contractors owed, salaries owed, fly-by-night billionaires with no factories.
Someone came in, steadied the ship.
Ensured we didn't go the way of Venezuela.
Why this is difficult to accept is what scares me about many Nigerians.
Oil companies around the world, sacked thousand of workers in 2015 up until 2017.
ExxonMobil, Chevron, Schlumberger etc.
Why do you wish to put the troubles on the one who has kept it afloat?
Can you sincerely say you've given committed support if not to the government least to the country?
This is the sports section but it's sad when I read all this from supposedly educated folks.
God bless you. |

CarlsJaz567: Governor Ambode did well in some areas of governance by delivering some good project that are currently being executed excellently - his home town, Epe is a glaring evidence of such. Even the Airport road project, though a bit messy and currently causing traffic gridlocks along Oshodi-Isolo, is still a quality project judging by what we can see so far. Some other costly projects eg the Terminus being built everywhere are commendable though appear to be rather ill-timed when the roads where vehicles would pass are almost extinct! On the other hand, he seemed to be very blind to the poor quality of work being done on the Abeokuta Expressway road construction and a few other places.
The inner roads suffered the most, leaving some of the roads in a broken-down state. A listening and more inclusive Governor would have been able to solicit inputs that would allow institution of developmental projects to be more balanced. There were also some initial lopsidedness during the tenure of both Tinubu and Fashola, but all other parts of Lagos State were made to understand that development would progressively spread to other areas. Therefore instead of Ambode to continue from where Tinubu/Fashola stopped, and probably tweak things a bit to make them better, he abandoned the continuity principle that made Lagosians unwilling to change to other parties. He stopped those previous projects just to start his own. The result is the fiasco that we are now experiencing. I have not even mentioned the Waste Management issues and the resultant massive loss of jobs.
Thus, relative to other governors in Nigeria, he is the best in the current dispensation. However compared to other Lagos civilian governors in recent time, given the precedents and the vast war chest of IGR available to him, he is the worst performing. It has nothing to do with whether Yorubas flipflop over issues or not. I am sure people still like him a little, but they believe that he could have done much better if he wasn't being so insensitive, vindictive and selfish! Summarized beautifully. He has more money at his disposal to do a proper job. |

Nevee: When it comes to maintenance of roads, Ambode failed woefully. The erstwhile active Lagos State Public Works Corporation is almost non-existent now. How do you explain Ikorodu road (a major road in Lagos) having so many deep potholes like that? From Onipan all the way to Maryland. How I wonder too my brother... I am going to replace the shocks of my car and i am so pissed with Ambode right now sha! |

Hungrychicken: and in your mind now, you think what you just said is easy?? If it was as easy as you say, we all wouldnt be going to school when the internet is just around the corner. Oga, I graduated about 10 years ago and i have not for once used what i studied in the 4 wall of a University neither has employers asked me for my certificate in that 10 years. I learnt programming from websites and videos. Heck, we used to compress whole websites into multiple floppy disk and reconstruct it back at home. I know several top IT people in Nigeria that are either not practicing what they studied in school or dropped out outrightly. So ease of learning is relative and dependent on your goals in life. School as it stands in Nigeria is overrated and people are going into it for the certificate without tangible value added. |

Idrismusty97: Probably because of their huge resources(i.e revenue) to complement it. Resources and population goes hand in hand. Compare with India which population is almost same with China but generate much lower revenue. and don't forget that they are not running a democracy. So it is easier to get things done wthout all these going back and forth that we have between the Legislative and Executive arms of the government. |

Someone ruling them since year 2000 and i dont think he is leaving anytime soon. In 3+ years, we have started calling Buhari a dictator.
