LagosismyHome: This was my thought process in this pandemic. ... was quite surprise to see maybe not on this thread but other student thread once you voice that really we are in a pandemic then you are the enemy
The only thing that matters is how someone wants to travel, o my scholarship is what you see .... really is that priority. You travel tomorrow and get covid as your journey through and die. What exactly was the point then. Safety first . The priority shouldn't really be visa or education . I know everyone has great dreams and have made plans but for a minute think. ......... you are so right , the country people want to run USA, UK etc are struggling to manage the virus . Those death numbers from the virus are not made up. They are real figures . But hey people only want to hear what they want to hear not necessarily what the reality so me I don't even put mouth . To each itsown. life is a teacher itself |

Exactly... pompeiimagnus: Maybe the guy sounded harsh, but I understood his point. A lesson I've learned since I came to study in the US is that any job, scholarship, or funding I get is a privilege; even if I worked really hard for it. So we cannot coerce them to start visa processing because we want to have a better life in their country - unless you're a US citizen sha... |

Interesting sonofakin: Well, you are very noticeable. I have a feeling you crave attention too. If not, why will you come here to repeat the same thing all the time. Every year, people criticize BB naija watchers, what is the point? They should rest abeg. I digress. I think you are a hypocrite too, just like the rest of us, sinner criticizing sinner. Ask yourself, is any of your decision and action since the beginning of the pandemic only aimed at 'staying alive'? Have you been working?, saving?, investing? Making retirement plans? Before the pandemic, humans have been making conscious effort to stay alive, and still achieve great things in the process. The people that want to travel are just being human. And when we clamour for the Airspace to be open, it is bigger than a mere nairaland thread. Nigerians are stuck all over the world with expired Visas, or Visas that will soon expire, some are stranded, their plan was to go for a short holiday and they left here with limited resources. But screw them, they should just shut the hell up and stay alive |

Interesting Let's hope they open soon in Nigeria. Anything can still happen. sonofakin: Yes it is a lot. But in any country where they reopen, they will only operate based on their capacity, getting appointment dates will be a competition. Not everyone will get a date that suits them, some people will still have to defer or start online. They reopened in Korea, I'm sure they have more yearly F-1 applicants than Nigeria |

US can’t be compared to other countries in terms of student visa because many people apply for US student visa. They might have laid down regulations that each country should meet before they can resume services. And to think not only student visa, other visa types too. If they open today, many people will rush them. Nigerians apply for US visa a lot. Also note that they do in-person interviews, so their safety is important. |

It’s just unfortunate. LagosismyHome: Don't know why the Gov don't want to officially announce when the international airport will open. They usually never take anything serious that affects the public i.e book haram, lassa fever, insecurity etc ......
Someone told me July 24 but I checked various sites online and couldn't find a confirmed date . |

It is well I hope they find the killers May we not be entangled in any deal that will take away our peace Openbusiness3: it was an assassination job. The killer didn't even kill his dog that was inside the apartment with them. Police found the dog alive and unharmed. The killer didn't steal anything inside, so it was not a robbery. It was a hit job. Someone paid or contracted or ordered someone to kill him. Most likely the competition. Because many corporations with suits and tie are mafia bodies behind the scenes. The guy was very innovative. He had some new tech projects in the works, plus he has had so much success with ride sharing aka e-hailing. They need to check Uber, Lyft and those other guys for any possible links. Has any of them being trying to buy his company or buy controlling shares etc etc. They killed this guy most likely cause they see his huge tech potential as a big threat to the existing status quo. The guy raised all his money from tech sponsor channels, so I doubt he had any dealings with drug cartels. If you check his activities, you will see that the guy is very ambitious with his tech innovations. An ambitious young tech guru is dangerous to the status quo. Mark Zuckerberg has shown them that. Out of nowhere Mark is now top 7 richest billionaires in the world, a young tech guy. The old mafia corporations that dominate societies across the world don't like that kind of thing |

International flights to the US from places where border not closed has been happening and flights out of US to places allowing entry from US flights has been happening. America has started international flights. Nigeria has not yet declared their airspace open but I know some charter flights are happening from Nigeria to US and Canada. kastgeraldino: Please I want a clarification regarding flights. I'm hearing various conflicting stories regarding flights. I thought that the Nigerian airspace has been closed, and that America has shut off international flights. But I still hear some people say that there are flights to the US. Does anyone know the real deal? |
